With these words, Biscuit moved first, and then with one step, she appeared just in front of Conrad and punched directly. She was still in her younger form, so there was a great height and range difference between her and Conrad. Conrad dodged to the right and then counter-attacked with a left punch.
She stopped the punch and redirected it using her right hand and kicked Conrad back, which he blocked with his left elbow from outside. To the untrained eye, they just shared some blows and moves, but many things happened in terms of Nen.
"How old are you..." said Biscuit as he jumped three meters to the back; her eyes were more serious now.
Conrad smiled.
"I am twenty-four..."
Biscuit nodded.
"Great..." she added, and then she attacked again. This time, she moved back and forth using pretty simple but also effective techniques to use fakes to find an opening. Conrad did not try to watch the movement of Biscuit with his eyes, but he listened and used his "En" instead. Seeing that Conrad was using his "En," Biscuit smiled.
"Oh, so he is more of a nen combatant than a pure martial artist; I had a feeling..." she thought.
The people who have mastery over Nen to a great degree and use Nen actively to fight are called Nen Combatants, and people like Biscuit who still have great mastery but take their effectiveness in combat from martial art training are called Martial Artists.
She then jumped to the sky and then started spinning, attacking with a kick to the head.
"Oh..." Conrad dodged by jumping back; Biscuit smiled. "Smart... He understood in an instant that I was not trying to kick him in the head but trying to make him dodge to the left or right and then spin kick him after I dropped to the ground..."
"Compared to his age, he experienced real-life and death battles..."
"I do also feel that he is experienced against a variety of enemies, both in number and shape..."
Conrad took a deep breath and nodded; this time he wanted to attack. He took one step forward and then punched. Biscuit dodged.
"Oh…" she understood, and then Conrad kicked from the counter-side, which she blocked, but still more punches, kicks, and elbows started pummeling her. In two seconds, two sides exchanged more than twenty blows.
After about two minutes, both of them jumped back.
"Thank you," said Conrad and smiled.
Biscuit laughed.
"I should be the one who is thanking you; I never thought that I would find a partner like you that I had fun training with..."
Conrad laughed in return and asked.
"Can you tell me where I lack the most?"
Biscuit thought and put her pointing finger to her chin.
"Let's see... I guess..."
"What you lack the most is emotion..."
Conrad stopped for a moment; he kept his silence and wanted Biscuit to connect.
"I felt it when I fought you."
"Most people when fighting against an opponent, no matter what the relationship with the opponent is, would feel something inside of them. This something I am talking about can be 'anger,' 'gratitude,' 'fun,' and many other types of emotions."
"These emotions respond to NEN and then in return would turn the attacks more powerful..."
"Did you understand what I said?"
Conrad smiled.
"I think... I do understand why you would think like that."
Biscuits were added.
"Of course, this may be your style; I just felt nothing when I was fighting you, just a pure, unnatural amount of calmness. If I had to take a guess... I would say you are using something, some sort of nen ability perhaps, to achieve that kind of effect."
"Am I right?"
Conrad gulped.
"As expected of her, with just one training and spar, she already understood that I have an ability that blocks my emotions while I fight...."
Biscuit was talking about the Black Ring—State Of Calm. Conrad created this ability firstly in his new life; the reason for this ability to be created was simply because Conrad knew that he was no fighter and not experienced against stressful situations a hunter and a Nen user may enter in their life.
So, he did not wanted to be scared, loss control, and have emotional changes when fighting, now that he understands that, It seems like Black Ring – State Of Calmness gives him the calmness in return of taking the emotions behind of his nen attacks, which makes it weaker.
"I was not that experienced when I created that ability..."
"I thought an object and some repercussion of using it would be enough; it seems like "Nen" had other ideas for it."
"The reason the ability worked in the first place is that 'Nen,' as a rule of law, knew that using that ability would make my attacks weaker..."
Conrad took a deep breath and entered a deep thought. Biscuit noticed all of these, but she said nothing. She knew that her words hit a spot, and she did not want to stop the train of thoughts. Conrad was right before her eyes.
"Now..."
"If this is true, I may be creating Nen abilities that I do not set the conditions for and work because of my lack of knowledge in Nen in the first place."
He turned to Biscuit and asked.
"Is it known for all nen users that emotions in the moment of battle affect the battle progress... It is not that I don't know how important emotions and nen combined are; I am asking in terms of martial arts and more minuscule details."
Biscuit nodded.
"Of course..."
"All nen users know it: when you punch, if you were to add 'Anger' behind it, your nen turns slightly more harmful; if you were to feel a 'Sacrifice'-like feeling, your nen turns more powerful."
"Depending on your mood, as you said, Nen responds to it."
"I think you have the knowledge of it and know how to use it; it's just that you feel that there is no need for the 'feel' of the emotions in the first place."
"Your question also tells me that you are fighting without emotions for your whole life, systematic, robotic..."
Conrad thought for a moment and nodded.
"It seems like Black Ring—State Of Calm is blocking my potential to learn more about the nen..."
