### Chapter 5: Teleportation
Riku began to recall some of Enel's techniques in his mind.
You could say Enel was inexperienced, but you couldn't say he was weak.
Enel had developed the Goro Goro no Mi to a very high degree, and the techniques he created were terrifyingly powerful.
Riku raised his hand upwards: "Inazuma (Lightning Bolt)!"
Crackle————!
A dazzling blue-white ball of lightning shot from his wrist, and then as Riku swung his hand downward, the lightning struck a distant tree.
BOOM———!!
The large tree was shattered by the falling lightning, and a large charred crater was blasted into the ground.
"Hmm... this move is mainly for precise strikes from above. So cool!"
Riku clenched his fist in excitement.
Lightning, truly a representative ability of both coolness and power.
"100,000 Volts! Discharge!!"
Riku raised his palm and released a powerful bolt of lightning.
BOOM!!
Riku glanced at the traces of destruction; the power was quite strong.
"1,000,000 Volts! Discharge!!"
A thicker bolt of lightning shot from Riku's hand.
BOOM!!!
"The power is stronger, but the speed hasn't changed."
"20,000,000 Volts!! Discharge!!"
Riku increased the output, and terrifying lightning radiated from his body.
BOOM————!!
A distant boulder the size of a small hill was shattered by the lightning.
Seeing this, Gildarts couldn't help but mutter softly: "This kid, truly a little monster."
For a normal Lightning Mage, releasing lightning Magic of this power would deplete their Magic Power after just a few times, but this little monster acted as if nothing had happened.
It was only a few days ago that he saw this kid awaken his Magic Origin. A Magic Origin also needs constant development. For this guy to have so much Magic Power right upon awakening, what would his future hold?
Gildarts didn't know that when Riku used the power of the Goro Goro no Mi, it didn't consume Magic Power at all; it was linked to his physical energy, which manifested externally as stamina.
The stronger the technique used, the greater the stamina consumption.
"Phew~~! 20,000,000 Volts consumes quite a bit of stamina. If I were in peak condition, 50,000,000 Volts would probably be my current limit."
"To go higher, I need to constantly train and develop the Goro Goro no Mi's abilities. Only then can I reach Enel's level and eventually surpass him."
Having just finished a day of training, his stamina consumption was huge. Having recovered only a little stamina, being able to release 20,000,000 Volts was already pretty good.
He also discovered a major advantage Devil Fruit users have over mages.
That is recovery.
After a mage's Magic Power is depleted, it takes a long time to recover. A Devil Fruit user, however, only needs to rest to restore their condition to full. This gives them a huge advantage in protracted battles.
Like when Aokiji and Akainu fought for ten days and ten nights to decide the winner for the position of Fleet Admiral, demonstrating their immense endurance.
Mages, even those with extremely powerful Magic Power, would need to rest for a long time to recover their Magic Power after fighting at full strength for an hour.
"Alright, next I should test that move."
Crackle! Crackle!
Lightning radiated from Riku's body, and an invisible electric field spread out with him at the center.
Zzzzt!
Riku's body turned into lightning and vanished instantly, then reappeared in the distance in a flash.
"?!?! Teleportation?! Elementalization?!!"
Seeing this scene, Gildarts couldn't help but widen his eyes.
Even he could barely see clearly that Riku's body had turned into lightning. With such fast movement speed, it was just like teleportation.
As a powerful mage, Gildarts knew very well how important speed was to a mage.
With Riku's speed, if he couldn't win and wanted to run, probably no one could catch him.
Gildarts had lived for over forty years and had always been called a monster by others, the subject of envy and jealousy.
But today, he felt a bit jealous of this brat.
It took Gildarts about ten years of hard training to possess attack power similar to Riku's. Riku, this kid, had only trained for one day.
Comparing people is maddening; comparing goods means throwing one away.
Now he somewhat understood why the Master always said there are always people better than you, and heavens beyond heavens.
"So cool!!!"
Riku was having a blast at this moment, his figure constantly flickering.
Teleportation.
This is teleportation, an ability that always ranks in the top three on boys' superpower wish lists.
Although it wasn't spatial transfer, the visual effect was almost indistinguishable.
"Alright! Brat! Stop playing! Eat!"
Gildarts called Riku to eat.
Zzzzt!
Riku's figure instantly appeared beside the fire, grabbing food and eating it in large mouthfuls.
"Riku, does a kid like you really need a master?"
With this kid's Magic Power, speed, and Magic attack power, his comprehensive strength would be absolutely top three in the Fairy Tail guild, if not the best.
"Of course! Today's battle made me clearly realize how weak I am. There are so many things I need to learn from Teacher Gildarts."
Riku said with a serious expression. He meant it. Although initially being able to release such powerful attacks after eating the Goro Goro no Mi did make him inevitably a little puffed up inside.
But after fighting Gildarts today, that little bit of arrogance completely vanished.
The gap between his strength and Uncle Gildarts' was too big.
As for Magic, although the Goro Goro no Mi was strong, Uncle Gildarts' Crash Magic was a Super Magic. Except for being a bit lackluster against Dragons, which were nearly immune to Magic, it was almost an instant kill against human mages.
Unless he developed the Goro Goro no Mi's ability to a very high level, he didn't feel he could harm Gildarts.
If he couldn't even beat Gildarts, how could he face those top-tier powerhouses?
"..."
Gildarts had a constipated expression.
He felt like he had been praised, yet also somewhat offended.
He was Gildarts, the strongest mage in the Fairy Tail guild.
This kid, a newbie who just awakened his Magic Origin, why keep comparing himself to me?
However, he did feel a sense of crisis at this moment. It seemed he had been a bit slack lately. If he were surpassed by a brat who hadn't been training for long, it would be a huge embarrassment.
