Cherreads

Chapter 13 - Ch. 13. Dayla Arrives.

I laid in the bathtub, my tear stained face shocked from seeing what I birthed and what had grown from me. Its eyes were glowing green, and its ears were taller than humans.

I cried as I bled out in the bathtub, no energy to heal myself, and I called them. I called the phoenixes.

Dayla. He survived. Gavin survived normal, but now I need help again. I'm sorry I said all those things to you. I'm sorry I treated you the way I did. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I'm scared. I'm dying. I have no strength to heal myself, and my body is in the worst pain I've ever encountered. I need you. I'll die without you.

I waited in the bathtub for almost five minutes before Dayla arrived. I was surprised to see her, but she looked worried. Gavin was trying to stop the bleeding, but whatever that pill was, it stopped me from healing. That baby destroyed parts of my body that I needed to live.

Dayla flew in the room as quickly as she could, panting and screaming my name. I heard a thud, then running feet on the floorboards. Dayla burst in the bathroom a second later, but she looked like a human. She has long red hair and silver eyes. She looked like she was no older than fourteen.

She saw me in the bathtub, and anger filled her eyes. She ran at Gavin and shuved him into the wall. "What the he'll did you do! Do you know what that pill was? You could've killed her! You would've killed her if she wasn't a goddess!" She unpinned him from the wall and walked over, examining the scene. "You lost a lot of blood." She finally said to me, as tears filled her eyes.

"I wasn't expecting you to come." I cried, the pain burning through my body. I clenched my teeth to stop from groaning in pain, but a little one still escaped. "I wasn't even going to call you. I thought you weren't going to care."

She looked at me with fear in her eyes. "You weren't going to call?" She paused, trying not to cry. "You would've died if you didn't. You can't be serious! I would never hate you. I thought you hated me, so as soon as I heard your voice in my gead, I knew something was wrong and I flew over immediately. I heard you say you needed help. I don't know what I would've done if you didn't make it." She sobbed and put up her hands. They were shaking, but she released a golden light that I felt in my body. It went throughout my bloodstream, and I groaned, trying not to scream. "I'm sorry, this might hurt a bit."

She released a huge flow of energy, and I screamed in agony as I felt my body leave the bathtub and float in midair. I grabbed my stomach in pain and let out a sound of suffering. Gavin stepped forward to stop her, but I stopped him.

"Gavin!" I screamed in pain, my voice cracking with the effort. "Stop. I trust her!" He froze and turned. He couldn't watch me in this state.

I gasped and let out a sob as she finished the healing process. She brought me forward and placed me in her arms. She had a large red towel draped on her arms as I smoothly settled in. She covered me and brought me to bed.

I was still gasping for air as she placed me down, but I had stopped bleeding, and I felt normal. There wasn't an ache or pain anywhere anymore.

Gavin had followed us out and asked Dayla, "How'd you carry her? You look so young and weak."

Dayla turned to him with hatred in her eyes. "I am immortal. I am not young. I am not weak. Watch yourself." She turned and sat on the edge of the bed, and Gavin moved to join us.

Dayla put up a barrier and blocked him.

"If you try to enter this barrier, I will kill you. You hurt my lady and goddess, and I will never forgive you. You are a monster." Gavin looked at me, and I looked at him. We locked eye contact, and Dayla blocked his view.

"I'm sorry, Alyssa."

My heart broke into a million pieces as he left the room, and I started crying. I really cried for the first time since forever. I let out all my grief and heartache.

I loved Gavin. Now, what do I do?
