Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 | The Beginning

(Deep underground in the Cadmus Sub-level labs)

I woke up with a start confused about where I was and how I got there. I then felt the most excruciating feeling of pain that I'd ever felt as my head felt like it was swelling up and it would explode at any moment, my body passing out from the pain.

This feeling lasted for what felt like days but was probably only a few hours and when I finally opened my eyes, I saw I was in some sort of cryo-pod and I could see a doctor with a small G-gnome on her shoulder with a clipboard standing in front of my pod watching me and my actions

She started to speak her observations aloud into some sort of recording device.

"Subject appears in perfect health, but it is noted that their eyes have changed color from their original brown color to an Icy blue and their facial features have changed. The subject no longer resembles the host DNA, the face is seemingly softer and bears less of a rugged image, but all other physical attributes seem to have remained the same. It is also worth noting that the subject's eyes seem to shine with a degree of intelligence that was absent in prior observations. Will continue to monitor Subject U throughout the day and through the combat exercises in a few hours."

After the doctor, who I saw was named Dr. Blanchard left, I began organizing my memories of both what I've been through lately and how I got here.

I was not originally from here, I was seemingly reborn here and all I could remember from my last life was the basic things I went through and my memories of this Universe, hazy though they were.

I have discovered through my memories of my current body and my experience before I awoke here, that I was in the world of Young Justice. I had died in my last life and had spent far too long in a dark void with nothing but my thoughts and would've gone insane for the seemingly endless time I spent there were it not for the system messages that I had been subjected to.

I had been given access to a Reincarnation Lottery System and it gave me options of what worlds I could go to whether they were normal worlds or some sort of combination of the two like a Marvel/DC world I saw.

This list of worlds had been flowing through my vision for a long time as I spent all the time I could making as many plans for the different worlds I could be sent to because I had nothing better to do and it actually helped to keep my mind off of the impending blackness.

Eventually, I had decided to start the Lottery and the list started to roll through its contents for a few days, months, or years. Time lost a lot of its meaning in my time here.

Eventually, it landed on Young Justice Crossover, but it didn't tell me which Universe it was a crossover of.

After that, another list appeared in front of me with different abilities, or lack thereof I could have in this new universe.

I decided I had spent way too long in this void and so I skimmed over the list thinking that maybe a quicker decision might get me out of this place.

I saw that most of the options were great with only one option out of thousands of having no powers being less than ideal than the rest.

It didn't really matter as there were a lot of ways to get power in this specific DC universe and I could always try to find ways to get power whether it was through serums like the Kobra-venom serum or simply becoming a martial expert which would take longer, but I was willing to put in the work.

With all this in mind, I simply started the lottery and right as it landed on a choice, I blacked out while seeing a message that said my appearance would be randomized and the words 'Have Fun'

Now with the memories I have of this body, I have an idea of what my powerset was supposed to be, and what universe is crossed with the Young Justice one.

I had memories of combat exercises and information that was force-fed into my head by the G-gnomes.

The combat exercises and information all pertained to multiple abilities from different aliens of the Ben 10 universe and the information led me to believe that all the different aliens from that universe seemed to exist here.

Well, at least the aliens that I have the abilities from.

I am a clone made from at this point unknown to me meta DNA, and the DNA of 6 different aliens from the whole of Omniverse although only two seemed to be from that continuity the rest were from the classic shows.

I had read and heard the doctors discussing my abilities and their origin. I had the DNA of a To'kustar, Way Big's race of cosmic giants.

I had the race's immense strength but shoved inside my small body, I also had memories of using their Cosmic Ray Manipulation.

I had the abilities of a Necrofriggian, the race of Big Chill. I seemingly had a lot of trouble using this species' abilities at first, but I got the hang of it.

I had the DNA of Jetray, and while I hadn't been able to reach my full speed, I knew the race could fly at hyperspeed, and seeing as I was purely humanoid, I only had the Neuroshock eye blasts as I had no tail. The eye blasts seemed particularly strong.

I found that I could use one of my absolute favorite alien abilities, I had the crystal powers of Diamondhead. I seemingly took to this power like a moth to a flame. I had practiced using it in many unique ways that were not done in the classic show.

What surprised me was the inclusion of this specific DNA as I seemingly got extremely lucky with the lottery. I had the DNA of a Galilean, the race of Gravattack. This gave me Gravity Manipulation and man it was so fun to use and surprisingly intuitive. I wasn't amazing at it and there were still a lot of things I couldn't do yet, but I had the basics down.

The last DNA made me laugh simply because I remembered the name Ben gave the alien and the name of the species itself.

I had the abilities of the alien Ben called The Worst. This race was called an Atrocian, probably a play by the writers on the word Atrocious. This alien was pretty much useless in every aspect except for the fact that they have near-indestructible skin. They are completely immune to physical force due to their blob-like skin, which my skin takes on the properties of when struck by a physical impact and it is also resistant to most energy attacks as well.

It doesn't physically change to be the same blob-like skin as the Atrocians, but it shares its strengths. It is strong enough for me to literally bathe in lava and is at least resistant to poisons.

My headcanon for why they chose this DNA was due to the different powerful DNAs that make up my body, they needed a strong vessel to contain the power and not rupture, and an Atrocian mixed with the rest of the DNA helps to provide that.

It's weird that I was able to have all these different abilities due to the DNA when I don't actually transform into them like Ben, but I suppose the combination of universes affects how the cloning technology works.

I mean Superboy was able to supress his human side with those patches and let him do the things only a Pure Kryptonian could do so it seems that the donated human/meta DNA allowed for seemless inclusion.

I did notice that when I was actually damaged, as rare as it was, I healed almost instantly. This must be a result of the human/meta DNA that they used to fuse the alien DNA with although I don't know who the DNA belonged to.

I'm sure if it were regular Human DNA it would still work as it was said in this universe that human DNA was predisposed to evolve and combined well with different DNA. A stable metahuman DNA seemed to work just as well.

I had finished organizing my thoughts and realized that while I was definitely in Cadmus, I don't know when in the story I am. I know I was created before Project Kr as I heard the doctors talking about if I was a failure he would be my replacement, but I don't know if he has already been freed, and if he hasn't, then I can use the chaos of his escape and the sidekick's infiltration to escape as well.

I also noticed that there seemed to be some gaps in my memories as I couldn't seem to remember a certain time-frame from my life here at Cadmus it was as if that entire section of my memories was removed.

There is one piece of my available memories that shocked me more than anything and that was that my handler seemed to be the leader of The Light, Vandel Savage himself.

It was very shocking, but considering my current power and my potential for the future, it's not too surprising that Savage would want to keep close watch on me.

I don't know what kind of trigger phrase is programmed into my Psyche, if I even had one, it's almost 100% certain I do due to the nature of The Light, as that wasn't part of the information the G-gnomes had implanted in my head. I only found out about Savage being my handler by pure accident as until recently, I was believed to be a mindless drone that acted like a robot.

This fact made Luthor lower his guard and he mentioned it off-handedly to Savage himself in a report.

Now, I could try to pretend to still be the robotic drone, but I am not confident in my acting skills in general not to mention against geniuses like Luthor and Savage, both smart in their own way.

That and the doctor already made note of the intelligent look in my eye.

For now, I will play the perfect soldier as best I can as I gather information about the timeline I am in, and wait for my chance to escape.

While I am here, I may as well make use of the free training I am being given in using my powers and the Combat exercises in a few hours in the perfect time.
