Watching Ada deny Umbrella and push the young, black-haired man beside her as the 'boss,' Annete immediately became furious.
Did she look like she was easy to fool?
"Do you think I'm easy to deceive?" Annete Birkin naturally wouldn't believe words spoken from an Agent's mouth.
Moreover, the young man next to her didn't look like a 'boss' at all; he looked more like a 'lord' from a wealthy family.
"I'm not lying to you." With that, Ada turned to look at Emrys, lifting her chin as if seeking his approval: "Boss, aren't you going to say something?"
"When did I become your boss?"
Emrys, who was originally watching the show, didn't expect to be 'dragged into the water.' He looked at Ada with a half-smile, facing her sudden public defection.
"What, are you going to regret it?"
Ada feigned surprise, looking at him with a hint of sadness in her brows, as if on the verge of tears, like someone abandoned. She said resentfully, "I thought I was already yours~"
Tsk tsk tsk. No wonder our Agent Wang could run around in Resident Evil; her intuition is too sharp!
Emrys sighed inwardly and then smiled, nodding: "Why should I regret it? Once you acknowledge me as your boss, there's no turning back. You need to think carefully."
"I've already thought it through, boss~" Ada raised her hand to brush her hair back, giving him a light smile: "From the moment I met you, I couldn't escape. Since that's the case, why would I ask for trouble? Better to pledge allegiance early and suffer less."
As a top-tier Agent, Ada's greatest skill was understanding people's hearts.
On the way here, she had already thought it through: given the strength Emrys displayed, submitting to him was not a loss.
On the contrary, failing to see the situation clearly would be a foolish act.
"See, Dr. Annete." Ada shrugged, her beautiful eyes half-closed, speaking with a hint of pressure: "As you can see, my current boss is Mr. Emrys. Can you give us your G-virus sample now?"
"Hmph hmph."
Annete sneered, her gaze suddenly shifting upwards, and she growled viciously, "Go to hell!"
Suddenly, sharp and grotesque claws, like spikes, pierced through the ceiling!
Ada felt herself being pulled by some force, leaning backward and falling into Emrys' arms, just narrowly dodging the claws that stabbed down from above.
A ferocious, giant figure fell from the torn ceiling.
Boom!
The research lab's floor was instantly dented, and a pungent, rotten, bloody smell assailed their noses!
Once the smoke slightly cleared, Ada finally saw that the one who had attacked them was none other than William Birkin, fully mutated after injecting the G-virus.
Why did she know it was William Birkin?
It was simple: although his appearance had undergone terrifying mutations, the monster still retained William's face. However, starting from his left chest, swollen flesh formed a putrid yellow eyeball that rotated as if it had a consciousness of its own, and his entire left arm had mutated into a giant claw!
"Boss, can you defeat this thing?" Ada's gaze fell on that thick claw, and she couldn't help but swallow.
"If I said I couldn't win, what would you do?" Emrys looked at her meaningfully.
"Well, of course~ I'd take you and run away." Ada's expression gradually became serious. She knew how troublesome the G-virus was; it was not something the T-virus could compare to: "I'm not joking with you. According to the data Wesker gave me, this thing accelerates its evolution every time it's injured."
William in his berserk state clearly no longer recognized any 'wife.' His will was completely driven by G, leaving only thoughts of slaughter and reproduction.
Looking at Emrys and Ada, who were close at hand, William didn't hesitate, swinging his thick claw, intending to tear them apart!
However, the moment William swung his claw, his chest seemed to be hit by a cannonball. His bones suddenly collapsed inward, and his massive, bloated body flew backward, smashing heavily against the laboratory wall, perfectly blocking Annete's escape route.
Although she had seen it before, Ada was still greatly shocked.
Superpower? Or some kind of high technology?
Annete was equally shocked. She had gone to great lengths to lure the G-2 form of William, precisely to escape in the ensuing chaos.
But why was William sent flying?
"Boss, you're too fierce!"
After thinking for a long time in her mind, Ada could only come up with such an adjective.
"Dr. Annete, if you don't mind, you can leave later."
Emrys dragged the 'Tyrant,' flinging it away, and it happened to crash into the plant room.
Then, he reached out his hand, his five fingers loosely clasped.
Telekinetic Restraint!
The roaring G-2 form of William was actually captured from a distance and also thrown into that plant room.
After doing all this, Emrys calmly clapped his hands and said, "Next, there's The Island. I hope that after you've watched it, you can give me your answer, Dr. Annete."
As he spoke, the G-2 form of William inside the plant room seemed to sense danger. The putrid yellow eyeball on its thick arm stared intently at the Tyrant.
Suddenly!
The Tyrant, as if in a spasm, fell to the ground, twitching.
Ada, who had already witnessed the 'parasite' process with her own eyes, immediately retreated a few steps as if she had seen a ghost.
Out of a researcher's curiosity, Annete subconsciously pressed close to the glass, watching the twitching Tyrant inside.
Soon, an even more horrifying scene appeared: the violently twitching 'Tyrant's' abdomen swelled up like 'ten months of pregnancy'!
The 'Tyrant's' belly rapidly inflated as if being pumped with air, until its skin became thin and transparent.
One could even clearly see the bulging, throbbing blood vessels and veins on the stretched skin. And through that layer of skin, thin as a cicada's wing, Annete saw what was inside.
It was as if an extremely grotesque xenomorph head was struggling to emerge from the 'Tyrant's' abdomen. Its sharp teeth pressed against the skin, branding out the terrifying prototype of a monster!
"W-what exactly is this thing?!"
Annete, who had studied numerous viruses, experienced firsthand the fear that came from a genetic level!
"Dr. Annete, I suggest you step back a few paces."
Emrys expressed his incomprehension for the suicidal mentality of researchers but still offered a word of advice.
No matter what, Annete was a talent after all. Was she standing so close for fear that the newborn xenomorph wouldn't get enough nutrition?
Screech—!
Accompanied by the bone-grinding sound of tearing bone and flesh, gushing blood rained down.
The 'xenomorph,' bathed in the Tyrant's blood, finally emerged from the 'mother body,' stretching its body freely and wantonly. However, this scene filled Annete and Ada with horror!
The creature had an appearance strikingly similar to the Tyrant, but its skin was pale and smooth, at first glance appearing no different from a human's. Yet, its T-virus-enhanced bones were like armor draped over it. Even more terrifying was the end of its tailbone, which bore a sharp, almost steel-black tail.
"Rejoice—!"
Emrys looked at the 'new' xenomorph, like an impassioned orator, spreading his arms as if embracing the future: "For the birth of a new species, the King of xenomorphs, it is the pinnacle work that combines the technological crystallization of three great civilizations!"
What kind of performance would a Tyrant xenomorph, fully fused with the T-virus, exhibit?
But soon, the Tyrant xenomorph showed Emrys what it truly meant to be born for slaughter: a pure, terrifying, and deadly hunter!
In the plant research lab, the air pressure seemed to suddenly drop.
That chilling, icy killing intent surged like a tide, causing William, in his G-2 form, to let out an extremely uneasy growl.
The Tyrant xenomorph, fresh from its 'mother body,' revealed a very human-like gaze.
Aside from its non-human appearance, it looked just like a newborn child, curiously observing the surrounding world.
It was too similar. In every aspect, it was too much like a 'human'!
Annete's gaze, through the reinforced glass, happened to meet the Tyrant xenomorph's eyes; at that moment, she was chilled to the bone, enveloped by an indescribable strangeness and terror!
The Tyrant xenomorph also seemed very curious, attempting to take half a step forward.
But soon, not quite adapted, it fell heavily to the ground, its movements extremely stiff, struggling for a long time without managing to stand up again.
"Could it be…"
Annete's pupils constricted slightly, as if she had guessed something through this scene.
Immediately after, she actually 'learned' from the Tyrant xenomorph, lying on the ground, staring intently at it, and then began to actively demonstrate how to support her body and stand up.
The Tyrant xenomorph observed 'Annete's' movements, and then actually learned from her, slowly gaining control of its limbs and standing up again.
This scene, witnessed by Ada, was like a boulder falling into water, creating terrifying ripples: "It… it's imitating humans!"
"No, it's not imitating, it's learning!"
From Annete's eyes, visible fanaticism could be seen, as she muttered like a madwoman: "It's too perfect, simply a perfect creation!"
Imitation and learning, though seemingly similar, have entirely different meanings.
The former can be achieved by many creatures, such as parrots, but they don't understand the meaning behind it; they merely replicate the same behavior.
But learning… means that the 'Tyrant xenomorph' is an intelligent life form!
The most important basis for Annete to believe it was learning, not imitating, was its ability to infer other things from one point.
After the Tyrant xenomorph learned to stand up, it was like a toddler, attempting to walk independently.
From wobbly to steady steps, it only took a dozen seconds.
However, G2 William couldn't sit still; he instinctively sensed a fatal threat from the aura emanating from the Tyrant xenomorph!
Boom!
With a loud bang, G2 William's foot stomped the ground, and the powerful explosive force directly cracked the steel in several places.
At the same time, the air suddenly erupted with a piercing sonic boom, and G2 William, dragging a violent aura, was like a full-speed train emitting steam.
But the Tyrant xenomorph, on the other hand, still seemed to be in a 'stupor,' allowing G2 William to crash into it.
The terrifying impact directly sent the Tyrant xenomorph flying, arcing through the air in a parabola, and crashing heavily to the ground, the shockwave blowing away all nearby plants.
Annete's heart immediately leaped into her throat: "No—!"
It was clear that this fanatical researcher had been completely conquered by the 'Tyrant xenomorph,' completely disregarding her 'husband's' life or death.
Ada, on the other hand, next to her, slightly relaxed her taut nerves, letting out an almost imperceptible sigh of relief.
Frankly, she would rather see the G-virus win than see such a 'monster' with terrifying learning ability and intelligence triumph.
Otherwise, humanity might very well be replaced by such a monster!
In the interval as her thoughts drifted, G2 William bent his knees slightly, launching himself like a cannonball, his thick claws like cutting machines, slicing through the airflow with a sharp shriek!
The blade-like claws, strengthened by the G-virus mutation, were incredibly sharp, even splitting solid steel in two!
The fierce, sharp attack descended, as if in the next second, the Tyrant xenomorph would be cut in half at the waist!
In that brief instant, a dull, explosive bang echoed through the air!
Bang!
G2 William, mid-air, suddenly seemed to be struck by a heavy object and sent flying.
A dark shadow clearly flashed through the air, moving incredibly fast, completely beyond the range of the naked eye.
When everyone looked closely, they realized it was a tail, like steel, covered in thorny barbs, black as ink, resting beside the Tyrant xenomorph.
The Tyrant xenomorph shifted to all fours, its muscles visibly rippling and bulging, its two hind legs suddenly pushing off, its speed instantly soaring to its limit!
Whoosh!!!
A violent gust of air, like a storm, suddenly swept through the room!
Amidst the piercing noise, the Tyrant xenomorph suddenly darted beside G2 William, seizing its momentary lapse, and its sharp tail barb shot out from a bizarre angle, piercing through William's head!
Pfft!
Blood sprayed out, and William was directly pinned to the wall by the impact of the tail barb.
"Roar!"
G2 William let out an unwilling roar.
But soon, the Tyrant xenomorph's fist, like an arrow from a bow, precisely and fiercely struck G2 William's left chest, on that huge, foul-smelling yellow eyeball.
The pus-like, foul-smelling yellow eyeball was directly smashed by the punch, and putrid, rotting pus flowed out.
William, in his G2 form, still tried to resist in his death throes, but the Tyrant xenomorph made an astonishing move: it directly opened its mouth, filled with sharp teeth, and viciously bit at 'William,' directly swallowing his G-virus-filled flesh and blood.
It… actually devoured the entire G2-form William, leaving not a single trace.
This scene was enough to make Ada, and even the fanatical Annete, feel a chill from the depths of their souls, and a profound fear!
The Tyrant xenomorph was too terrifying, in every sense.
Not only did it possess super-high learning ability and powerful physical qualities, but it also had a terrifying intuition like a beast, able to directly find G2 William's weakness in an extremely short time.
But what truly horrified the two of them was that the Tyrant xenomorph actually devoured G2 William!
"It's craving a higher level of evolution!"
Annete, who witnessed the entire process, said with a pale face: "It fused with the T-virus, and then devoured the G-virus, oh my God..."
Although she had participated in the primary research of the G-virus throughout, clearly no amount of knowledge could hide her current fear.
After devouring G2 William, the Tyrant xenomorph then turned its gaze towards the people inside the reinforced glass.
"boss, I suggest you kill it now." Ada clutched the gun in her hand; only this could provide her with a tiny bit of security, she couldn't help but swallow, looking at the terrifying monster, and reminded: "This guy is too dangerous; if we let it evolve further..."
But Emrys remained motionless, calmly gazing at the Tyrant xenomorph.
He was very curious, now that it possessed intelligence, just how much potential did this 'Tyrant xenomorph,' which he had so painstakingly created, truly have.
The Tyrant xenomorph walked forward until it pressed against the reinforced glass, its cold, vertical pupils reflecting the figures of the three.
Annete and Ada felt cold all over; the feeling of being stared at by it was suffocating, like being coiled by a python.
However, just as the sound of their nervous swallowing was clearly audible, the Tyrant xenomorph opened its mouth and uttered a simple word in a very stiff, peculiar tone.
"Fa… Father…"
The Tyrant xenomorph clutched the reinforced glass, repeating the words again in an extremely stiff, odd tone.
Now, Ada and Annie were certain.
They absolutely hadn't hallucinated; that thing... had actually learned to 'speak human'!
One sentence rendered Emrys silent.
Looking at the Tyrant xenomorph, his calm expression suddenly showed a crack: "You... who are you calling father?"
"You... Father..."
Like a child, the Tyrant xenomorph looked at Emrys with innocence and purity, showing an intimate gesture, pulling its hideous mouth into a terrifying 'smile': "You... are... Father..."
Ada's eye twitched, and she couldn't help but look at him: "boss... you, never mind, pretend I didn't ask anything."
"..."
Emrys suddenly felt that he seemed to have been misunderstood.
"It's okay, you don't need to explain to me, boss." Ada seemed to have read his thoughts, biting her lip and turning her head away: "Congratulations, boss, you've gained a son."
"How could it turn out like this..."
Emrys rubbed his brow, his mind a tangled mess.
He had guessed a myriad of possibilities, but he never guessed that the new xenomorph, created by fusing the T-Virus and G-Virus, would actually call him Dad?
What kind of fantastical plot development was this?
Good news, the Tyrant xenomorph indeed possessed an intelligence level no less than that of a human infant.
But the bad news was... this thing considered him its father!
Heaven knew what criteria the xenomorph, hatched from the 'Tyrant' embryo, used to identify him as 'Father'!
Although being called father by an 'xenomorph' caused some physiological discomfort.
Emrys remained calm, gazing at the Tyrant xenomorph through the reinforced glass, and said faintly: "Sit down."
It took the Tyrant xenomorph more than ten seconds to barely comprehend the meaning of the command, so it obediently squatted down, tilting its head, looking curiously and innocently at its 'Father' through the glass.
Next, Emrys' series of actions truly shocked Ada's worldview.
"Jump!"
"Run!"
"Stop!"
"Handstand!"
A series of commands, much like training a dog, came from Emrys' mouth.
From initially needing to think before completing an action, the Tyrant xenomorph soon became able to quickly fulfill the commands.
"Come here."
Another command, and the Tyrant was able to judge independently, not directly breaking through the window, but choosing the path nearby to bypass and enter.
"It can think!" This scene again shocked Ada greatly.
Why didn't the Tyrant xenomorph break through the window? That would clearly be simpler, more direct, and more in line with its nature!
Soon, Ada's pupils constricted; she guessed the reason.
It was highly likely that Emrys was in front of the glass, and the Tyrant xenomorph, considering it might harm him, chose another route.
Watching the extremely terrifying monster brazenly enter the room, Ada's muscles involuntarily tensed, her breathing quickened, and she felt a physiological fear.
"Sit down."
Emrys issued another command.
The Tyrant xenomorph obediently sat down, and then he actually reached out and stroked its smooth head.
In contrast, the Tyrant xenomorph showed no intention of resisting, even narrowing its eyes and displaying a look of comfort and contentment.
"Very good."
Emrys' lips curled upwards; this surprise was simply too great for him!
Tyrant xenomorph?
No, no, this was clearly a 'loyal dog'!
Wait, loyal dog?
Emrys stroked the Tyrant xenomorph, a sudden idea striking him.
Since the G-Virus could cause the host's body size to multiply through mutation, could it also make it smaller?
With this speculation, he curiously examined the Tyrant xenomorph, projecting a shape similar to a pet dog: "Can you get a little smaller?"
The Tyrant xenomorph tilted its head, and then, under the gaze of Ada and the others, it suddenly shrank significantly, as if its bones were contracting.
Eventually, its size became similar to that of a common small dog, and its appearance underwent a drastic change, looking like a pale, hairless 'dog breed'.
"C-can I ask about the origin of this creature?"
At this moment, the silent Annie suddenly leaned closer, her eyes full of curiosity, staring at him with fervor as she asked.
"Dr. Annie, aren't you going to escape?"
Ada teased her from the side.
"Escape?" Annie frowned slightly, looking at Ada with disgust, and said coldly: "I'm not that foolish. Even William in his G2 form was killed by that thing. Where can I escape to?"
After saying this, her breathing became somewhat rapid, an unusual flush appearing on her pale face, and her eyes stared at Emrys with fervent intensity: "Besides... how could someone who can create such a miraculous creature be an Umbrella person?"
"Oh? So..."
Ada raised an eyebrow, a smile appearing in her eyes.
"I want to join you!"
As a scientist, Annie had dedicated her life's work to the G-Virus, but... the appearance of the Tyrant xenomorph showed her a brand new path!
Compared to this, what was Umbrella but a broken mess?
Thus, after a not-so-difficult choice, Annie decisively chose to defect to the young man before her!
"Are you sure, Dr. Annie?"
Emrys wasn't in a hurry. Although his goal was the G-Virus, getting Annie Birkin to join was clearly a better option.
With such a virology expert, there would be less to worry about regarding the future research of Parasites and fungal viruses.
"I'm sure!"
Annie agreed without hesitation: "As long as you let me study that creature, no... even a drop of its blood will do. Secondly, you need to guarantee that you won't steal my research results and ensure my safety. That's enough!"
What's the use of stealing results?
He doesn't live permanently in the Resident Evil world; he only needs to enjoy the results. As for stealing, it's completely unnecessary. Actions like Spencer's are purely superfluous.
Emrys couldn't help but smile and extend his hand: "Then, I wish us a pleasant cooperation, Dr. Annie."
The biggest gains from the Arklay Laboratory... were Annie Birkin and the intelligent 'Tyrant xenomorph' that hatched!
Emrys was very satisfied, but he also had many questions about the 'Tyrant xenomorph'. Fortunately, there was an expert nearby, so he asked for the reason.
"boss, may I trouble you to ask about the origin of that creature?" Annie pondered for a moment and said.
Emrys selectively informed Annie about the xenomorph, but concealed the matter of extraterrestrial life.
"I guess it's likely that corresponding segments were implanted into its genetic sequence." As a scientist, Annie, after understanding the general situation, quickly proposed a possibility, boldly looking at him: "It might be your genes, or some other special thing, that makes it regard you as 'Father' no matter what after hatching."
Special things... Emrys thought for a moment and guessed the principle.
It was probably Peter and Vex, who, during their research on the xenomorph embryo, specifically embedded his biological core data into the embryonic gene fragments, which led to this dramatic scene.
Peter and Vex had gone to great lengths to try and tame the xenomorph's violent genes.
But they hadn't expected that, after a long detour, it would be inadvertently achieved by him ahead of time.
Emrys speculated that the T-Virus and G-Virus, under fortuitous circumstances, had created the current 'Tyrant xenomorph'.
Since the goal had been achieved, it was time to leave this broken place.
But then, a piercing phone ring suddenly sounded.
"Heh, it must be Umbrella's people."
Ada looked at the phone on the wall, a hint of coldness in her brows: "boss, if I'm not mistaken, they must have already discovered what we did in the lab. Should I answer?"
"Heh, no need."
Emrys said indifferently and coldly: "Things here are done; we should leave."
With that, ignoring the ringing phone on the wall, he turned and walked back the way they came.
Annie and Ada exchanged glances. Although they felt it was inappropriate, after witnessing the birth of the Tyrant xenomorph, they no longer dared to object, so they silently followed.
Everything that happened inside The Kree Institute was transmitted back to Umbrella's Operations Department via surveillance.
Looking at the three leaving figures, Charles' face was ashen with rage, so dark it almost dripped water, and fire seemed to burn in his pupils!
The office was silent, so quiet you could hear a pin drop.
Seeing their boss in such a state, everyone immediately shut their mouths, fearing that at this moment, they might accidentally run into their superior's firing line and be used as a punching bag.
That person completely ignored the communication, leading Ada and Yanni directly out of the institute.
A furious Charles threw the satellite phone in his hand, which happened to hit an unlucky soul, and he roared with anger, "Who can tell me where this damn bastard came from?!"
Originally, his mission was simple.
It was to test the Nemesis' data, retrieve the G-virus sample, then block news of the T-virus leak, and eliminate all evidence.
But now?
Some bastard who appeared out of nowhere completely disrupted his plan, causing the entire situation to spiral in an unexpected direction!
If it continued to develop...
He would probably soon be thrown to be an experiment subject by the higher-ups due to dereliction of duty!
And the most important thing in this whole affair... was the Tyrant xenomorph!
Although the monitor lines were damaged and couldn't transmit sound.
But with the intermittent footage, he still saw William, who had fused with the G-virus, instantly killed by the Tyrant xenomorph, with almost no power to resist!
And after devouring the mutated William, the Tyrant xenomorph also displayed extremely high intelligence!
Without a doubt.
From every angle, the Tyrant xenomorph was a superior bio-weapon than mere G-virus or T-virus products!
That guy not only utilized Umbrella's experimental results to re-create a more threatening product, but he even took Yanni into his possession.
This meant... that the results of Umbrella Corporation's massive investment in research could very likely fall into the hands of hostile forces!
At that time, the consequences would be unimaginable!
As soon as he thought of this, Charles felt very annoyed and disliked 'Emrys' even more, because if it weren't for him, none of these troubles would have arisen!
"Sir sir."
Suddenly, a staff member cautiously raised his hand.
"What is it now?!"
Charles was very annoyed, glaring at the staff member.
The startled staff member cowered, trembling, "There seems to be a problem with the Nemesis' data; would you like to take a look?"
"Another problem!"
Charles was truly fed up.
But upon hearing that there was also a problem with the Nemesis, his entire face turned ashen with anger, and he quickly walked to the monitor, saying sternly, "What is it? Speak quickly!"
The staff member pointed at the screen, which displayed real-time data specifically for monitoring and collecting the Nemesis' battles, however... some of the data clearly showed anomalies, marked with blood-red, glaring numbers!
"Do you think I can understand these things?"
Charles' forehead veins throbbed with anger, and he slapped the staff member across the face, causing him to stumble and fall from his chair, his eyes seemingly spitting fire as he roared, spraying saliva, "Tell me in the simplest way possible what the hell is wrong with the Nemesis!"
The staff member, stunned by the slap, covered his face in grievance, but he also knew very well that he had simply run into his superior's firing line, so he scrambled back onto the chair and quickly brought up the surveillance: "The Nemesis... seems to be losing control."
"???"
Charles almost fainted.
What did he mean... the Nemesis was losing control?!
"Bring up the surveillance near the Nemesis; I need to understand what happened!"
Charles said this almost through gritted teeth.
The G-virus being stolen, and the important figure Yanni defecting to hostile forces, was already enough to get him thrown into a laboratory, injected with a virus, and turned into an experiment subject.
If even the Nemesis experiment failed, he dared not imagine how Mr. Spencer would deal with him.
Most likely... a fate worse than death!
"Sir the surveillance is up!"
The staff member brought up the surveillance footage, and Charles immediately kicked him aside, slumping into the chair, staring intently at the Nemesis' every move on the screen...
Meanwhile, elsewhere.
After saying goodbye to Emrys, Jill quickly found her former teammate, but unfortunately... perhaps it was due to spending too much time with Chris, causing her to contract some 'causality'.
That poor teammate was soon 'killed' by Jill.
So, Jill, all alone, inevitably ran into the Nemesis, who was specifically hunting STARS, and this time... no one was there to help her.
"Damn it!"
Jill fled in a panic, but the Nemesis behind her had clearly learned its lesson from last time; this time, it was armed with a six-barreled Gatling Vulcan cannon!
No need to think, it must have been Umbrella's doing!
After suffering a huge loss in the hand-to-hand combat with 'Uther' last time, it immediately brought a Vulcan cannon; wasn't this purely coming for revenge?
But... the problem was, they had already separated!
"He's the one you provoked; go find him if you dare!" Jill complained bitterly; she was, at best, an elite special forces member, so why was a bio-weapon chasing her with a Vulcan cannon?
Moreover, they even put bulletproof armor on the Nemesis, covering it from head to toe in a 'turtle shell'; was this something a human could defeat?
But complaints aside, if Jill had slowed down even a step, her fate would have been to be directly shredded into a bloody mess by the Vulcan cannon!
Jill made a desperate dive, narrowly brushing past the storm of bullets from the Vulcan cannon, and darted into a corner alley, where a gas pipe behind her exploded, creating a violent blast that sent her tumbling several times.
Jill felt every part of her body screaming in pain, but her mind was still clear; she absolutely could not stop now, otherwise, it would truly be over!
A mere gas explosion naturally couldn't stop the Nemesis; it strode forward, carrying the Vulcan cannon, and was about to spray the alley, ending Jill's life, when...
"Get down!!!"
A loud shout made Jill react instinctively, dropping to the ground, and then a scorching blast of air brushed past her scalp.
A rocket grenade, trailing its exhaust.
Boom!!!
Even though its entire body was protected by high-tech bulletproof armor, the Nemesis was still directly blown backward by this rocket grenade, with flames soaring several feet high!
Fragments flew, embedding into the wall like bullets.
"Are you okay?"
At this moment, a large, calloused hand reached out, and Jill grasped it, using the leverage to barely stand up from the ground, and after catching her breath, she looked at the other person: "Thank you."
The person who saved her clearly wore the USS emblem on his shoulder, looked extremely handsome, with a messy, ramen-like hair falling down, and was wearing standard special forces attire.
"You are... from the USS?"
Jill immediately showed some caution; she knew this team was a mercenary group affiliated with Umbrella.
"My name is Carlos, relax~ beautiful Miss."
Carlos shrugged, looked at his armband, and smiled wryly, saying, "We don't know what happened either, but now, we have no connection with Umbrella and are preparing to gather surviving personnel to evacuate this city; do you want to come?"
These words dispelled Jill's doubts.
Perhaps it was because of his sincere eyes, or perhaps because he had just saved her life.
"Follow me, the subway is nearby."
Carlos beckoned to Jill, and just as he was about to turn and leave, he heard a terrifying movement from behind him.
Jill suddenly felt a chill throughout her body, and stiffly turned her neck to look at the 'Nemesis', which had been hit by the rocket grenade and blown away.
"No way."
The thunderstorm these past two days has made my throat very uncomfortable; I had a fever and then caught a cold.
