Chapter 84 - ill

This trip to the Resident Evil world, due to the short game plot, only lasted a total of four days.

Four days, about ten days earlier than expected. Nothing should happen, right?

Because the time flow rate cannot be adjusted for each newly traversed world, four days also passed in the Main universe.

In just four days, it shouldn't be too difficult for Elsa in front of Grandpa.

"The harvest isn't great, but the future is promising."

Emrys glanced at his private space. After upgrading to Level 3 authority, it had expanded from the original fifty cubic meters to one hundred cubic meters.

The T-virus and G-virus samples were placed in a corner. Uther, being a android human, lay quietly after falling into a deep sleep. As for the Tyrant alien, a special hibernation pod was made for it to prevent it from dying in the private space.

"Adjust the time flow rate of the Resident Evil world to be the same as other Worlds. Unless I specify otherwise, always follow this setting from now on," Emrys instructed.

"Time flow rate has been set."

"I almost forgot, I'll go to the Alien universe first to retrieve the item," Emrys patted his head, reactivated the 'Traveler', and his figure instantly vanished from where he stood.

At that time, the 'daemon axe' was thrown into the cargo hold of the 'Lord of the world' and he never looked at it closely again.

This time, Emrys patiently observed the 'daemon axe' carefully.

On the blood-red axe handle, countless fresh blood seemed to have been injected, flowing down to form a soul imprint. The crescent-shaped axe blade's surface seemed to have undergone a thousand refinements, leaving behind crack-like patterns, and its grooves were permeated with a magma-like, flowing crimson glow.

Emrys took a deep breath and gripped the 'daemon axe'.

But unexpectedly, there was no imagined situation of being dominated by a desire for slaughter. The daemon axe was extremely heavy, and with his current physique, it was difficult to wield it freely.

"Item detected: daemon axe (Perfect)."

"An axe forged by the Blood God in the War Forge, it is the glory of the victor alone. Once gripped, one will hear the desolate horn from the ancient wilderness, bestowing the wielder with the Blood God's blessing, to end war with slaughter! Only death!"

"Hmm? This is..."

Suddenly, he discovered an unexpected phenomenon.

When he gripped the daemon axe, his psychic power was suppressed.

In its place was a killing technique, as if originating from the soul and memory, formed by physical instinct, seemingly integrated with his innate abilities.

Vaguely, it seemed he could hear the desolate, deep horn sound from the Chaos Wilderness, as if mixed with the shouts and clashes of countless beings, the clang of iron hooves, and the striking of swords!

"Not bad."

Emrys nodded in satisfaction.

He didn't expect that the daemon axe could not only bestow the wielder with a boost in combat skills and martial arts but also had the wondrous effect of suppressing psychic power.

This way, when encountering special problems, he could completely try the method of 'fighting poison with poison'. Using a demonic artifact to suppress runaway psychic power was also a solution.

After retrieving the 'daemon axe', Emrys had no intention of wasting time and returned to the Main universe.

"It's time to go back, otherwise Elsa will be anxious." Thinking of that cold-faced 'secretary', Emrys' lips couldn't help but curl into a smile.

Elsa initially gave him the impression of being quite cold, but in subsequent interactions, he could perceive her meticulousness in many ways.

For example, after each study session, when he was exhausted, Elsa would always use very professional techniques to massage his temples to alleviate mental fatigue.

Another example: after sword practice, Elsa would thoughtfully prepare a bath for him and add agents to soothe his mind and muscles... and so on. Such meticulousness was countless.

"Strange, I actually miss her a little." Emrys touched his face and strode into the hive city, heading directly towards the planetary governor's Mansion. He seemed a little impatient.

But he knew very well in his heart that this longing was not so-called love, but rather... habit.

"I wonder if Grandpa's matter has been resolved."

He hadn't forgotten how dangerous the Nachmund Gauntlet was at this point in time.

If he left too late and got stuck in the Alert Sector, he would truly be in a hopeless situation.

Lost in thought, Emrys had already seen the planetary governor's Mansion, but the obviously increased security around it, as well as many Space Marine guards, made him feel a strong sense of foreboding.

What on earth happened?

He remembered that when he left, the crisis in Lothsell had basically been resolved.

But in just four short days, the planetary governor's Mansion was once again under martial law, and even an automatic weapon defense system had been set up, which was a bit unreasonable.

Could it be that the forces of Chaos were not annihilated, or that the Necrons had attacked?

With various uneasy thoughts, Emrys didn't bother with much, directly removed his disguise, stepped forward, and declared his identity to the guards: "I am Merlin Emrys!"

"It's the lord! The lord is back!"

The members of the guard immediately shut down the automatic defense system and reported the news up the chain of command.

Before long, Emrys saw Carol, but the 'secretary' who was usually cold, calm, and never flustered, now looked worried and rushed towards him with hurried steps.

When he got closer, he noticed that deep in Carol's eyes, there was deep fatigue and panic, as if she had lost her backbone.

"What happened?"

Emrys' heart immediately sank to the bottom. From Carol's performance alone, he could roughly guess something.

"Lord Emrys, please come inside with me before we talk."

Carol bit her tender lips lightly, her eyes seeming to hold sadness, and she shook her head gently: "Someone will explain it to you. He has been waiting for you in the hall for two days."

So, this situation suddenly occurred two days after he left?

Emrys remained calm, his expression unchanged, as if nothing had happened, and followed Carol into the mansion.

Passing through the garden and going straight to the hall, he immediately saw the hunched figure of the Mechanicus Priest, like an old man, holding a mechanical scepter. His crimson mechanical android eye seemed to convey a sharp, scrutinizing gaze, examining his every move, even the subtle details of his expression.

After a moment, the Mechanicus Priest nodded slightly: "As expected of Arthur's bloodline, calmness is the greatest advantage."

"You are...?"

Emrys didn't know the other party's identity but guessed it was probably related to the Merlin family.

"Carol Solaris, a Bio-Sage serving the Emrys Rogue Trader Dynasty." There were very few human features left on Carol's body; almost all of her was mechanical, but her voice was still powerful and deep, and her gaze was fixed on him: "Entrusted by Arthur Merlin, I will assist you in becoming a qualified Rogue Trader and heir!"

Upon hearing this, Emrys had already confirmed his suspicion. He stared intently at Carol: "What happened to my Grandpa?"

Carol fell silent for a moment, seemingly considering whether to tell the truth.

"I am the heir of the Emrys Rogue Trader Dynasty! I have the right to know about 'Arthur'!"

Emrys' tone suddenly rose several degrees, as if containing immense pressure, carrying an invisible aura that echoed throughout the entire hall.

"As expected of Arthur's grandson." Carol was not affected at all; instead, she seemed to become interested, scrutinizing him: "Very well. Although Arthur didn't allow me to tell you, I believe that to become a qualified heir, one must bear heavy responsibilities."

After a pause, Carol's tone turned serious, and she said in a deep voice: "Your Grandpa, Arthur Merlin... is critically ill and on the verge of death."
