Chapter 106 - Impossible

Regarding the sudden appearance of You-Know-Who, who claimed he could revive Optimus Prime.

Apparently, Ironhide and Ratchet were highly skeptical, especially Ratchet, who, as the Doctor, directly stated it was impossible.

"Optimus Prime is dead, he can't be revived!"

Ratchet, his heart filled with sorrow, said gravely, "I thank you for saving us in Los Angeles, but... please don't fool us!"

The Autobots were kind, but they were by no means foolish, nor would they easily trust others, especially after experiencing human betrayal.

"It seems we have a slight disagreement."

Emrys sat by the fire, the night in the valley was cold, and the flickering light of the flames shone on his face, making him seem even more mysterious: "You don't seem to know much about the Allspark. Besides being the source of your creation, it can also be... the key to reviving Optimus Prime."

"The Allspark has been destroyed."

Although Ironhide had been released, he was still indignant about being pinned to the ground earlier, and immediately retorted.

"You're wrong." Emrys shook his head and said lightly, "The Allspark can be destroyed, but the knowledge within it will not disappear. It is precisely because of this that the originally vast energy was dispersed and vanished, so... the remaining fragments can reshape a dead body and consciousness."

This was clearly demonstrated in the movie; the energy contained in the large fragment could revive the dead Megatron.

And the small fragments contained clues to the 'Matrix of Leadership'.

Of course, Emrys did not tell them everything, turning instead to the somewhat stunned Ratchet and Ironhide: "So, the key to saving your leader lies in the remaining fragments after the Allspark was destroyed."

He wasn't sure if any fragments of the Allspark were left. If not... then he could only apologize to the Autobots.

But Emrys felt that 'Big Pillar' was, after all, a leader, so he shouldn't be that unlucky.

So the probability of finding Allspark fragments should be quite high.

The only downside was that his Conqueror-class cruiser Transformer was highly unlikely to be realized.

Thinking of this, Emrys was filled with resentment. If he hadn't been interrupted by the sudden appearance of Starscream, he would have gotten his hands on the Allspark already!

Next time he had a chance to meet, he would definitely give Starscream a hard time!

Ironhide and Ratchet communicated in Cybertronian for a long time, finally turning their gaze to Emrys.

"You are not human."

Ratchet scanned the person in front of him, but his expression was very surprised.

"Uh, actually, in a sense, I am human." Emrys' expression was a bit strange, and he cleared his throat: "Look, I look exactly like a human, isn't that the most obvious evidence?"

"No, from a genetic standpoint, you are not human."

Ratchet perhaps felt his professional status as a 'Doctor' was being challenged, and stubbornly corrected: "Your genetic similarity to humans is very low, not even as much as a... Sorry, I need to check my data."

A moment later, he squatted down and stared intently at Emrys: "Yes, I've checked the genetic database on Earth. Your similarity to humans is even lower than the similarity between humans and a banana, so... you, like us, are an alien life form from the universe."

...

That stings, if you can't speak, just shut up!"

Although he had to admit that Ratchet was telling the truth, at least if he had said chimpanzee, he could have barely accepted it.

"This question isn't important." Emrys waved his hand, deciding not to dwell on the topic: "Right now, the most important question is, are you willing to cooperate with me?"

Ratchet and Ironhide exchanged glances, both falling silent.

One was a dedicated Doctor for medical aid, the other a weapons expert; neither usually participated in decision-making.

To say they didn't want to save Optimus Prime was impossible, but... after experiencing human betrayal, Ironhide and Ratchet harbored great suspicion towards Emrys, who was clearly an alien life form.

Although Cybertron didn't have the saying 'there's no such thing as a free lunch,' they could understand the general meaning.

Would anyone really be so kind as to help them revive Optimus Prime?

Obviously impossible, and the 'conditions' proposed by the other party put Ratchet and Ironhide in a dilemma.

Should they agree or not?

If they agreed, and the conditions proposed were too excessive, should they honor the agreement?

Or, what if the other party had ill intentions, merely using the reason of reviving 'Optimus Prime' to drive them to do evil deeds?

Having lost their leader Optimus Prime, and with Jazz severely wounded, the remaining Ironhide and Ratchet were completely unable to decide.

So, they turned their gaze to Bumblebee: "We need your advice, Bumblebee."

They were both Optimus Prime's lieutenants, but their functions differed, and the quick-witted Bumblebee was clearly better at analyzing the pros and cons of the current situation.

"Alien life form ~ static ~ save me ~ static ~ no way out!"

A noisy sound came, and Emrys turned his gaze to Bumblebee. This guy's voice still hadn't been repaired, it seemed.

It was absurd. He had come into contact with the Allspark, his body was repaired, but his vocal cords were left out.

"You mean, you agree to my deal?" Emrys guessed the message Bumblebee was broadcasting.

"OH ~ YE!"

Bumblebee gesticulated wildly, and with the noisy broadcast, finally managed to express his opinion clearly.

Regardless of whether the suddenly appearing 'Emrys' was human or a mysterious alien life form, their most important task right now was to revive their leader Optimus Prime and prevent the Decepticon Megatron's conspiracy from succeeding!

After much hesitation, Ironhide finally chose to agree with Bumblebee's suggestion: "I think Bumblebee is right, we must revive our leader, no matter the cost. Humans have betrayed us, and Megatron certainly won't let us go!"

The struggle between the Decepticons and Autobots had lasted for a very long time.

They had fought all the way from Cybertron to Earth, and both sides were basically well aware of each other's intentions.

Now, with the Decepticons holding a clear advantage, they would certainly not let them go, and would inevitably unite with humans to exterminate them!

To get something, you must first give something.

Emrys understood this simple truth. Since both sides had reached a preliminary agreement, it was his turn to show goodwill.

"If I can give you enough energy, can you save Jazz?" He looked at the sitting Ratchet and asked.

"Are you questioning a professional 'Doctor'?"

Ratchet puffed out his chest and proudly said, "As long as there's enough energy, I can save Jazz."

But after saying this, he slumped his head in dejection: "Jazz's energy core was damaged. To save him, besides necessary surgery, he'll need a huge amount of energy, at least human nuclear fusion energy."

"Can this thing meet your needs?"

As he spoke, Emrys pulled out a miniature Arc Reactor from his wool trench coat.

The MK5 armor was severely damaged on Rosales, so it had been in a scrapped state.

He had considered having the Tech-Priests on the flagship repair it, but unfortunately... the Tech-Priests' answer was that they could directly replace it with a more advanced noble-style armor, and there was no need to repair such an outdated thing.

Noble-style armor was not even as good as the Silent sister's armor, so Emrys had thrown the MK5 into the warehouse to gather dust.

He was thinking of having Stark strengthen it for him next time he returned to Marvel. "This thing" Ratchet couldn't help but lean down, peering closely at the small Arc Reactor in Emrys' hand, his eyes wide: "A miniature cold fusion nuclear reactor! And you still say you're not an alien?!"

When they landed, they had already accessed the global information network and obtained most of humanity's knowledge and data.

Currently, human technology can't even achieve controllable nuclear fusion, let alone the next level of cold fusion nuclear reactors, and to shrink the device to this extent, from both a conceptual and technical perspective, it could be described as astonishing!

...

Forget it, I'm tired. Emrys was powerless to explain: "Say whatever you want, can this thing save Jazz?"

He really couldn't explain to Ratchet what 40K humans were like. If he mentioned genetic similarity again, he'd crush his head!

Seemingly sensing the other party's resentment, Ratchet shivered and quickly changed the subject: "Yes, with the energy from cold fusion nuclear reaction, repairing Jazz's injuries is very simple."

Ironhide, standing nearby, also changed his attitude considerably, saying straightforwardly, "Thank you. I apologize for my rudeness just now."

"No need, this is all part of the 'deal.'"

Emrys waved his hand, a gentle smile on his face.

If Elsa were here, seeing Emrys' expression, she would most likely mourn for these Transformers.

Last time, Rosales was the one who suffered; his gears were almost sold, and he still had to thank Emrys.

These are Transformers! Their completely independent minds, their silicon-based life forms, have a high probability of avoiding corruption by electronic daemons!

If his conjecture could be confirmed, then it would mean this was a powerful 'mechanical' legion!

Of course, whether they would be corrupted or not, Emrys still needed to conduct experiments.

But it didn't prevent him from planning ahead. Tricking the Autobots was much simpler than tricking the Decepticons.

"Ahem, then it's time for the second matter."

Emrys cleared his throat twice, then said in a deep voice: "To revive Optimus Prime, we must find the Allspark fragments."

"I'll go with you!" Ironhide rumbled, showing his weapons, looking ready to sacrifice himself.

The Allspark was destroyed in Los Angeles, and there were Decepticons and the US government there. So to find the fragments, they had to go deep into the tiger's den, and Ironhide, the weapons expert, being one of the only two remaining Autobot combatants, was naturally the best choice.

"No, your target is too big."

Emrys shook his head, rejecting Ironhide's suggestion, and looked at Bumblebee: "I think you are more suitable."

Bumblebee, as Optimus Prime's lieutenant, often served as a messenger and spy, making him more suitable for infiltrating society to avoid detection by humans and Decepticons.

"Spy! 007! Infiltrate!"

Bumblebee stood with his hands on his hips, his cute head tilted up, emitting a harsh radio frequency.

"Ratchet, can you fix his voice?" Emrys listened to the incomprehensible broadcast, feeling a headache coming on.

"Yes, that's very simple." Ratchet said easily.

He hadn't had time before, but now, while performing surgery on Jazz, he would also repair Bumblebee's damaged voice system.

"Ironhide, your mission is simple."

Emrys seemed to have become the leader, giving orders to the Autobot Transformers: "In the name of the fallen leader, send a message to the universe, gather as many Autobots as possible for reinforcement, and protect Optimus Prime's remains."

"Gather more comrades?"

Ironhide paused at the words, clearly very hesitant: "But this is Earth. Optimus Prime said we shouldn't arbitrarily encroach on human living space. If we continue to gather comrades, what if—"

"I also think this might not be a good idea."

Ratchet said softly, "Optimus Prime would not allow us to gather a large number of comrades on Earth without human consent."

"No, Ironhide, you're wrong." Emrys looked at Ironhide, his voice suddenly rising: "Look around, Ironhide, Ratchet! This is war, a war between the Autobots and Decepticons. If you lose, will the Decepticons spare humanity?"

"No, he won't."

Ironhide and Ratchet thought about it, then decisively shook their heads.

Given Megatron's personality, once he finished using humans, the next step would be to exterminate them. How could they live in peace?

"So, this is war!"

Emrys' voice seemed infectious, echoing through the valley under the flickering Firelight: "This is not betraying the Autobot ideals, but rather to better protect humanity. We need strength! We need more reinforcements!"

His ambition was great: to capture all Autobots and Decepticons in one swoop!

He wanted the Allspark fragments, he wanted the Matrix of Leadership, and the Space Bridge technology wasn't getting away either!

"Look at your leader Optimus Prime next to you. Don't you want revenge?"

"Because of the stupidity of this country's leaders, you suffered betrayal. We cannot deny humanity for this, but... we must be prepared for a bigger war, this is a necessary preparation!"

"We are here to protect more ignorant humans, to expel the damned heretics!"

"In the name of Cybertron! In the name of the Autobots!"

"Do you want Optimus Prime to revive and see a devastated world, ravaged and destroyed by the Decepticons?"

"Do you want Earth to suffer the same fate as Cybertron?"

That's right, they weren't here to encroach on human living space, but to resist the Decepticons and those despicable humans!

It was to save more lives, what was wrong with that?

Nothing wrong! The logic is sound!

Sorry, people from 40K are just this aggressive.

"No! No! No!"

The most aggressive Ironhide instantly empathized, roaring with red eyes.

"Very well, then follow my lead."

Emrys' lips curved slightly, and his figure seemed to grow much larger: "I will lead you out of despair, firmly grasp every shred of hope, and make the damned Decepticons and the humans who once betrayed you pay a heavy price!"

An invisible aura made Ratchet, Ironhide, and Bumblebee feel as if they saw the shadow of their leader in a trance.

The strong, unyielding, and domineering ideology was deeply rooted in their hearts like a nail.

"Mr. Emrys, we are willing to follow your command!"

Ironhide, Ratchet, and Bumblebee, influenced by that aura, instinctively lowered their heads.

Seeing that the atmosphere had been built up to this point, Emrys subconsciously said: "Before us, there are no enemies!"

Great, he nailed it!
