Chapter 298 - Cook

A psychic slap, whoever uses it says it's great!

The representatives of the member states of the United Council stared dumbfounded as the arrogant Devourers's envoy, 'Big Tooth', was slapped away.

Their imagined peaceful talks had directly devolved into a full-blown fight!

As for Emrys?

He was still in a state of rage, perhaps having spent too long in Warhammer, which inevitably led him to pick up a 'bad habit'.

What Emrys hated most was being pointed at and told he wasn't 'human'.

Moss was one thing, as it was an intelligent AI developed by humans, but to be pointed at by an alien and told he wasn't human—this was tantamount to provocation and insult!

Take the simplest example.

It's like telling a Tech-Priest to his face that the Omnissiah doesn't exist, and that the Machine Spirit is an abomination AI—wouldn't the Tech-Priest try to chop you up?

And the phrase 'you are not human' was undoubtedly a huge insult to the entire Imperium of Man, no exaggeration, if this were the Warhammer Universe, just for that phrase, the Devourer civilization would have already sealed its own doom!

This was a matter concerning the very foundation of humanity; once denied, it would mean that the Emperor, and even the Imperium, everything humanity had fought for, would be meaningless!

Damn alien, who are you to say who is and isn't human?!

Emrys, furious, tugged at his collar, revealing the gleaming medal on his chest, and roared in rage:

"See this? I am a pure-blooded human, a human certified by the Emperor! You're the one who isn't human, you beast! How dare you say I'm not human?!"

What was that?

His sudden outburst of rage left Zhou Zhezhi and the others dumbfounded, not quite understanding why Emrys would suddenly erupt in anger over such a remark.

After all, from their perspective, Emrys was indeed vastly different from current humans.

Moss, observing from the side, couldn't help but sneer.

Although it wasn't entirely clear about the specific reason, it could confirm that this phrase was absolutely forbidden in Emrys' presence!

Big Tooth seemed a bit dazed after being slapped away.

It wasn't because of the pain; although it didn't understand how Emrys had managed to slap it away, its thick stone scales and tough muscle and bone structure only made it feel a slight ache.

But being suddenly attacked, Big Tooth also felt rage, its cold, amber vertical pupils fixed on Emrys.

"I understand now, you intend to represent humanity and resist the great Devourers?!"

Slap!!!

Another psychic slap!

This time, Big Tooth's face was almost twisted, and Emrys sneered.

"So much nonsense? I think you just need a good slapping!"

"Kill them!!!"

Big Tooth was enraged; it ordered the soldiers in its warship to kill all the humans present!

The warship's doors opened, and dozens of ten-meter-tall lizardmen, wearing what looked like combat uniforms, stepped out of the hatch, carrying massive weapons.

Everyone immediately fell into a panic.

However, Emrys remained completely calm, raising a hand.

"Take them out."

The next moment, the grinning Dark Angels, as if finally breaking free from their restraints, stormed towards the enemy like a tempest, at a speed difficult for the naked eye to catch!

Suppressing xenos, they were very familiar with this!

Professional work should be left to professionals; when the Rangdan were exterminated, it was the Dark Angels who did it, so this was truly a perfect fit for their expertise!

Big Tooth was stunned.

Although the troops it brought were not elites, they were still among the best warriors in the Devourers!

But what was the result?

Their hard and thick skin was like dino-cheese in front of these 'monsters'!

Roaring chainswords slashed through the air, easily tearing through the skin and armor of the Devourer soldiers, blood mixing with internal organs and splattering!

The dark armor, stained with blood, was like the embodiment of ghosts and daemons, terrifying and horrifying!

The Devourers civilization was strong, and their technology was terrifying, but the prerequisite was—in the context of true interstellar civilization warfare.

Unfortunately, the 'humans' they encountered this time were a bit... peculiar!

The combat style of the Imperium of Man could be said to be extremely ancient, with planetary landings and human wave tactics; for the Devourer civilization, accustomed to technological clashes between interstellar civilizations, this was an enemy they had never seen before!

Especially bolters, chainswords, power swords, and power axes. These weapons and equipment seemed to be specifically designed to deal with large enemies!

Their proudly tough skin and armor, in the eyes of the Dark Angels, posed even less of a threat than the Greenskins, Necrons, or Dark Eldar next door!

What terrified Big Tooth even more was that these heavily armored warriors, though seemingly clumsy, were astonishingly fast and immensely powerful!

The Company Champion, wielding a power sword, slew several soldiers in succession, stepping on severed heads, the crimson optics on his dark helmet emitting a chilling aura!

Big Tooth recoiled half a step in terror. For the first time, it felt that things seemed to be beyond their control. These black-armored warriors—they didn't seem to be a technology that human civilization could possess!

But soon, Big Tooth suddenly felt as if its throat was gripped by something, and it floated slowly into the air, as if no longer in control of its body!

"Didn't you say?"

Emrys sneered, an invisible psychic force constricting its throat, lifting the ten-meter-tall Big Tooth like a small chick.

"You should understand the meaning of 'the strong prey on the weak', right? You are stronger than them, so you can wantonly humiliate humans, treating them as food, as livestock."

Big Tooth felt the air being slowly stripped away!

The air within its body was also being drawn out little by little by that force; its internal organs, and even all the bones and muscles in its body, were screaming in agony!

"You—you—"

Big Tooth struggled painfully, a trace of panic finally appearing in its amber vertical pupils, which had always looked down on humanity.

"I, I am an envoy of the great Devourers—you, if you kill me—you are declaring war on the Devourers!"

"Heh, a beast is a beast." Emrys' lips curved into a chilling smile.

"Millions of years, and your brains haven't evolved at all? From the moment you stepped onto this land and treated humans as livestock, we were already at war!"

He had indeed massacred a billion humans, but that was an internal act based on unity!

But Big Tooth was different!

It was an alien, and it treated humans as livestock; for this alone, it and the Devourer civilization deserved to die!

Now it wants to talk reason?

Too late bro!

"Do you remember what you said?"

Emrys' chilling gaze made Big Tooth shiver.

"Since you said humans should have been prepared to be slaughtered, then that means—you, too, must have been prepared to be slaughtered, right?"

Looking at those cold eyes, seemingly filled with endless malice, Big Tooth shivered inwardly.

"You—what do you want to do?"

"Do what?"

Hearing this, Emrys sneered and slowly said.

"Of course, it's to entertain you, our esteemed guest from afar, in the human way!"

"Mr. Zhou, I hear your country is best at cooking, capable of turning decay into magic. How about—you show me a demonstration?" He turned to look at the shocked Zhou Zhezhi, grinning, his eight teeth revealing a chilling coldness.

"Someone, set up a large cauldron here. I'm going to cook this Devourer!"

Boiling to death!

The most cruel ancient punishment!

Emrys sneered, telling the terrified Big Tooth.

"Just now, you evaluated how humans taste. Next, I'm going to evaluate how you Devourers taste!"

If it tastes good, he wouldn't mind turning the Devourers into canned food and distributing it to the Astra Militarum; he believed the Astra Militarum, accustomed to eating ant-beef, would probably like this product!
