Ashrik flew to a forest nearly two kilometers away from the train depot. The light had begun to thin as the sun had descended. Streaks of violet, amethyst and indigo unfurled from the horizon.
An eerie silence shrouded the forest. The stillness was occasionally broken by the howl of the wind and the distant chirp of the passing birds.
Once Ashrik found a proper secluded place among the shrubs, he entered the space. What greeted him was the tranquil scenery at the lawn.
"Brother Zhai!"
"Captain!"
Lucille and the others immediately spotted Ashrik, calling for him. They gathered at the front porch deck of the neighboring cottage, sitting cross-legged on the floor.
Even before Isaac returned earlier, everyone had been waiting there. Lucille joined them as Felix served them some cut fruits and plain water.
"Woof! Woof!"
"Arf!"
Dobby and Ponyo had also noticed Ashrik.
