Steve pulled Betty into the back seat and raised his shield to protect them.
Helen Cho sat frozen in the front, her emotions a chaotic mix of dizziness, embarrassment, anger, and relief.
Boom!
The tanker exploded, sending the Green Goblin flying. His armor cracked and tore apart, and before losing consciousness, he triggered the glider's autopilot to escape.
"Are you two all right?" Steve asked, lowering his shield.
Thanks to his quick defense, the explosion only pushed the car back a few feet and didn't trigger a chain reaction.
Overcome with emotion, Betty leaned in and kissed him right there, completely forgetting her best friend was watching.
Helen blinked, half speechless. "Uh… you're pressing on my hair."
Steve cleared his throat and stepped back, glancing at Helen more carefully.
She looked completely different from the blonde women he'd been seeing lately. The Korean scientist had a calm, elegant air — like water flowing through a quiet garden. Her smooth bangs framed her gentle, intellectual beauty.
Helen Cho wasn't just beautiful — she was fascinating. Some women were striking at first glance; others grew more captivating the longer you looked. She was definitely the latter.
"Sweetheart, this is my best friend, Dr. Helen Cho," Betty introduced brightly, clinging to his arm. "She has PhDs in biology, materials science, and genetics, and she's planning to start a biotech company here in New York."
"Thank you, Captain," Helen said softly.
Helen had always admired strong men — and Steve had literally saved her life. After seeing his strength up close, she couldn't help but be impressed.
She extended her hand with a warm smile. Steve shook it, smiling back. He had no reason to refuse a beautiful woman's gratitude — especially one as brilliant as her.
Unbeknownst to many, the inspiration for Tony Stark's nano armor had actually come from Helen Cho's early research.
Steve had always been a little envious of nanotech — it was powerful and stylish. Mechas were every man's dream, and he wouldn't mind having one himself someday.
Suddenly, a nearby car engulfed in flames exploded.
A heavy SUV was blasted into the air and came tumbling toward them.
Steve spun around instantly, shield raised. Qi energy surged through his body as he slammed the Vibranium shield forward — knocking the two-ton vehicle aside like a toy.
Hiss—
Betty's eyes softened, glistening with emotion.
Helen drew in a sharp breath, her eyes wide with awe and something else — curiosity… and admiration.
From a distance, a Daily Bugle reporter snapped photos frantically.
What a scene! Captain America — strong, fearless, and majestic — the embodiment of heroic beauty and power.
Civilians nearby gasped in amazement.
"He's incredible!" someone shouted.
Steve walked to a more secluded spot and pulled out his modified motorcycle.
"Want a ride?" he asked with a grin.
"May I?" Helen's eyes sparkled.
Before Betty could reply, Helen had already stepped forward. Quiet as she usually was, she couldn't resist this kind of thrill — or the man offering it.
After all, she'd just watched him send an SUV flying with one arm. That image would be burned into her memory forever.
And after what had happened in the car earlier… she couldn't help but imagine that Captain America wasn't just powerful — but passionate, too.
Just thinking about it made her heart race.
Steve let them both on — one sitting in front, one behind. He hit the accelerator.
The motorcycle roared to life, launching off the bridge. The liquid-nitrogen booster ignited, propelling them through the night sky like a comet.
On the freighter below, Mary Jane — recently rescued — gazed longingly at the distant figure of Captain America disappearing into the night.
She, too, wanted to know what it felt like to ride behind him on that motorcycle.
Spider-Man landed quietly beside her, hesitating before speaking.
"Ma'am, are you all right?"
"Oh! I'm fine, thank you, Spider-Man," she replied, startled. His voice sounded so familiar, but she couldn't quite place it.
"I'm glad you're safe. I'll be going now."
Spider-Man scratched the back of his head awkwardly. Social interactions weren't exactly his strong suit — especially with girls.
He needed to head home and tell Aunt May that he'd fought alongside Captain America!
As for the Green Goblin…
No one really cared about him anymore.
Later that night, Steve dropped Betty and Helen off at their villa before heading out again for another mission.
Betty wanted him to stay — to share a drink, maybe more — but she couldn't quite bring herself to say it aloud.
"I'll be back after I'm done. You two go ahead and have a drink," Steve said, smiling. "Sorry, Dr. Cho — I'll see you later."
"You're welcome, Captain. Just call me Helen," she replied warmly.
She wanted to spend more time with him — just sitting with a living legend was enough to make her heart flutter.
There'd be more chances. After all, Betty was his girlfriend — so he'd definitely be around.
Brooklyn.
On 42nd Street, soldiers surrounded a block in force.
General Ross had sent a special unit to capture Bruce Banner, who'd been spotted meeting with a man called "Mr. Blue." He'd even called in S.H.I.E.L.D. for backup — and requested both Captain America and Iron Man.
Unfortunately, Tony Stark couldn't be bothered. He cooperated with S.H.I.E.L.D. when it suited him, not because he was on call.
As for Steve — he showed up, but mostly out of curiosity. Big events like this were perfect chances to relax and maybe trigger a system mission.
The rewards were always worth it.
There were no useless rewards — only people who didn't know how to use them.
His "Goodwill Halo" couldn't erase hatred. Enemies would still attack, still slander him, still pull the trigger when necessary.
But that didn't mean it was useless.
Take Helen Cho, for example. From the moment they met to the moment he saved her, she'd become one of his biggest admirers.
That halo worked wonders with women — every time he aimed, he hit his target.
Protecting the world and upholding justice might be Captain America's job.
But Steve Rogers? He just wanted to enjoy life.
When he finally arrived on scene, General Ross was fuming.
Steve turned to his men and pulled a few bills from his pocket. "Go grab some drinks from the milk tea shop next door. We're here to keep watch, not steal the military's thunder. Eat what you want, drink what you want. Now, who brought cards?"
"I did, Captain!" one of the soldiers said.
"Perfect. Blackjack. I'm the dealer — keep it small, one cent per hand."
Within minutes, Captain America was happily playing cards, sipping milk tea, and cracking jokes with his team.
General Ross's face turned red with rage. A few days ago, he'd been thrilled that his daughter was dating Captain America.
Now, he wasn't so sure.
"Captain Rogers!" Ross barked.
Steve waved casually. "Relax, General. You handle your business — we've got this under control."
Ross's forehead veins bulged. He'd asked for backup — not a card game.
