"Do I want children?"
Kaelis couldn't hide the surprise in his voice.
On a normal day, the answer would have been simple.
No.
It had always been no.
But now…
Now Ezra was pregnant.
Now there was a child who might become part of his life, whether he was ready or not.
Suddenly, Lior's innocent question felt strangely purposeful.
Lior looked up at him, waiting patiently.
"Do you?" he asks again. "The man who took me…he loves his children so much that he kidnapped me."
Kaelis froze.
Lior said it so casually.
So matter-of-factly.
As though he were talking about the weather instead of the worst day of his life.
"It's my first time meeting a papa like that."
Lior swings his little legs absentmindedly.
"Maman is also a boy, but he explained to me that he isn't a papa because I was in his stomach, so I don't know much about how papas work."
Kaelis blinked.
Then blinked again.
Where exactly had Ezra raised this child?
