A wall of red dust exploded, and Jaren's shoes dug into the dirt.
"Seven—!!!" He shouted on top of his lungs.
"Huh?" Seven's head snapped around, eyebrows furrowing in confusion.
"Duck!!!"
"What?"
"Duck!!! Trust me!"
Her knees hit the dry earth with a solid, painful thud, kicking up a small cloud of red powder.
The sudden action left Officer Stolas tracking empty air. Because Seven had been his direct target, her disappearance completely broke his line of sight.
'Why did she do that? She was supposed to attack. Not dodge anything."
That split-second confusion left his front completely exposed.
Seizing the opportunity, Jaren lunged. He threw his entire body weight forward, slamming his shoulder directly into Stolas's midsection.
THUD!
"What!?" The older man gasped, the breath escaping his throat in a sharp wheeze.
Both men crashed into the dirt and Jaren's weight pinned the instructor flat against the earth, knocking the wind out of both of them.
