" Look a demon, kill it!" shouted the voice of a rowdy man.
" Look a human, eat it," the voice of a Demon alerted pointing.
These were phrases of every day through every century, from every timeline.
As far as the oldest man could remember Demons had always lived amongst them.
Many eons ago mankind was easily consumed by Demons, Demons were from the same earth as man, but different dimension, like a coin. One coin, but one was for man and the other was for Demons.
No one was entirely sure who was the first being. Some believed that Demons were first and was only trapped in their hellish realm unable to get to the other side, but when the first sin was made it open a gate allowing them to cross between realms.
Another story went was that Man was first and after the first sin against God Demons were born from the sin and ended up sharing a Man's world until God separated the two, but because of man's continuous sin the windows were continuously opened up letting the Demons to climb back over to linger amongst man.
But whichever tale was true demon existed and that much was true.
In the beginning before Humans where blessed with Devine Gifts to fend for themselves against the threat of Demon kind they used to be devoured by Demons. Before sunrise and after sunset the screams, wails and agonizing cries of a man, woman, child, or even an animal could be heard.
But then one faithful day on the thirteenth month a group of people and animals gathered in a circular structure on the highest peak of the land after years and prayed for twenty-eight days without stopping. There were men, three women a dog representing an animal of land, a bird representing an animal of sky and a fish representing an animal of water. They made a circle from various plants and rocks and finally after twenty-eight days their prayers were answered.
It was night when a light so bright tricked them that they were dead. There was a voice that had no gender, in fact there were multiple voices that told them that their prayers had been heard.
When they returned back to their village they're was something different about them. Their skins were fare, they looked extremely healthy and strong.
These people drove the Demons away whenever they appeared taking the first ever largest leap for Humanity. They retook their lands, had healthy harvests and could watch their children play. And these people were called the Blessed Divines.
The village back then was very small, but everyone praised the Blessed Divines. And to honor them the people of the village built a massive temple. It was so large outsiders would think it would be impossible for a small village to build such a massive and beautiful structure. The Blessed Divines delivered a news to the people that every child that was born in the next year would be blessed by the Gods.
The people praised grateful that they now had a fighting chance. The Blessed Divines were the most kindest people who ever lived, no matter how much money they were showered with they were always broke as they used it on the people. Those same people who turn around talking behind their backs passing remarks.
The Blessed Divines had hoped that one day that they could seal the gate shut between Humans and Demons forever. After three years they went back to the highest peak were they prayed for twenty-eight days once more.
The second journey took them only a week and five days travel, but the first time they traveled here it took a month as they were met with many circumstances. First the mountain with a flat top, a plateau, was a long distance away, secondly Demons were always on the move no matter the hour so they had to take many detours and lastly climbing the mountain was a difficult task. When their prayers had ad been noticed they now appeared standing in a vast white space. It was foggy and the temperature was constantly changing.
" You had prayed and waited with great patience, determination and an open heart. What do you seek?" the voices asked.
" We do not seek much, nor do we seek more power," a man started.
" But what we seek is knowledge," a woman added gently.
" How do we seal the gates between Human and Demons," another man said finishing the sentence.
For a moment all was quiet and then another moment. But then there was an eruption of laughter everywhere.
" Hey pass on the message higher up!" one of the gods laughed. All the gods laughed, it was probably the best joke they heard ever in all their time being alive.
" So you all were patient for almost thirty days to make a joke?" a God asked still laughing.
From where the humans stood a man at the back tightened his fist his anger boiling, but he did not erupt. " How dare they mock us?"
The Gods could felt his negative energy, but ignored him.
" I told you humans were funny!"
" No. We meant not to cause laughter. It's a serious question. We're tired to see others die, the Demons were getting stronger. We need to put a stop to this,"
The gods were silent.
" told ya humans weren't funny. I'm out of here," spoke a god to the one who said they were funny before leaving. " Every century they come with the same nonsense," the God added on his way his foggy figure leaving.
One by one other Gods left still laughing at the question. Only five gods remained.
" We plee, grant us the knowledge we beg. If there is a task that needs to be filled let us know," a man said.
" The gate you so speak of is called The Bridge of Desired man or The Bridge of Accepting Sin," a god spoke.
" Sealing the bridge is impossible," another god added wanting to make it short.
" No. There has to be a way,"
" there must be something that can be done. Please," the man plead.
" Would you do anything to get the Gate closed forever," the God asked.
" Yes," the man answered most eagerness.
" Demons cross the bridge because man let them. To get rid of the Demons from earth you'll have to kill every man,"
" Every woman,"
" And every Child,
" And every baby,"
" Maybe even animals too," the God answered slowly sentence by sentence.
" What?" Stuttered the man with blonde hair. " Kill everyone? Why must we resort to killing,"
" Because man allowed sin, man accepted sin, man want sin and some men love sin. Man is responsible for the demons entering there world,"
" As we speak someone amongst us seemed to already understand this and is using it and another one wants the Demons to keep roaming. Now do you see how a man heart can be changed," the god said.
The blonde man couldn't believe it, he looked around and it seemed none of the others heard this.
" Are you willing to kill everyone. That includes your wife and unborn child,"
Everyone heard this and gulped there throats tight.
" I understand,"
" So will you?" the god asked and everyone said no or they refused to answer.
" You see Ehzia, Demons were never meant to be on earth. Just like Earth were people are punished so are the angels in Heaven," The god started calmly as usual.
" There are three sides of the coin, Good, bad and in-between. The gods, demons and the humans. Humans are the most unique creation. They were nothing, but an empty shell filled with free will. An Angel kind wanted to find out what would happen if the humans ate from the Tree of the All Knowing and what happened was the result of your world," the God explained, only Ehzia could hear.
" You have the heart to be an Angel Ehzia, but the same can not be said if your companions, but even though I am saying this to you Ehzia you doubt me," the god added gentle and calm.
" You are a Wonderful Foolish Human Ehzia," the God said his voice misty. All the gods came in the form of a shapeless fog, but Ehzia felt it's strong gaze, but the words didn't sound as if they meant to shame him, it felt like some sort of pity, or praise, maybe even both.
Ehzia listened patiently. Once again he was the only person hearing this.
"Thank you for this knowledge," Ehzia thanked his heart heavy as getting rid of Demons were impossible, but at the same time possible.
Upon returning half of the kingdom was in flames as a neighboring kingdom attacked them hearing they were defeating the Demons and planning an attack. The uproar gave birth to a Large bridge were hundreds of demons spilt and with them walk a demon of ranking that stood eight feet tall.
Over half the kingdom was wiped out and the king was dead. Now the neighboring kingdom had it under control.
When the Blessed Divines arrived the people lashed out on them blaming them for everything. Because of this another Bridge opened, but this time no attack happened.
Ehzia walked to the Demon who stood eight feet tall. The Demon was stunned by this human bravery and confidence. Ehzia asked to return from where he came as he had killed enough. The smaller demons laughed or rather cackle, but the leader didn't.
" If I must you are to come with us and be sent the last realm of hell," the demon stated his voice rough like grinding stones. The Demon was intrigued by this human, the Demon knew he could simply kill many human, but there was something about this human that he wanted for him to come to hell freely.
" If that's all you wish it shall be done, but with it demons must not attack humans for at least thirteen years,"
The demon leader tilted his head slightly his horns high on his head as he peered down at Ehzia. " You are an intriguing being, you carry no malice. We wish to know," the demon said leveling itself to Ehzia
" No Ehzia please!" a woman suddenly shouted from the back.
" Marianna," spoke Ehzia sad now his voice shivering in his throat.
