Chapter 11 - : Something Doesn’t Add Up

After Su Yang entered the temple,

it took Gu Xueqian quite a while to finally come back to her senses.

Her lips were slightly parted, her face full of shock.

The strength Su Yang had just displayed…

was absolutely not something a Level 1 warrior could possibly possess!

But the problem was—

less than half a day had passed since the job advancement ceremony ended!

In that half day, even if Wang Fei had spent all his time completing the joining ceremony for Qingshan Pavilion,

and Su Yang had spent all his time grinding monsters in the newbie zone…

at most, he could've leveled up one level, right?

Could a Level 2 warrior have that kind of combat power?

Impossible… absolutely impossible…

Could it be that Su Yang didn't awaken as a normal warrior,

but as some kind of hidden class with extremely strong early-game combat power?

But that didn't make sense either—

if it really were a hidden class,

there was no way it could've escaped detection by the Job Advancement Divine Stone…

For a moment, Gu Xueqian felt completely muddled.

She truly couldn't understand

why Su Yang possessed such terrifying strength.

"Eh? Xueqian? What happened here?"

Just as Gu Xueqian was lost in confusion,

a mature, elegant woman with red wavy hair slowly walked out of the temple.

Xu Yan—

a member of Youyu, and Gu Xueqian's neighbor "big sister."

This time, due to some family matters,

she had returned from Tianling City to Dongling City.

Coincidentally, she ran into the day when the Job Advancement Divine Stone was open,

so she came to take a look at the advancement plaza.

Unexpectedly, she witnessed Gu Xueqian advancing into the hidden class

[Ice Elementalist].

Since the two already knew each other,

after Xu Yan extended an invitation, Gu Xueqian naturally accepted.

At this moment,

Xu Yan had just finished handling the teleportation certificate inside the temple

and was planning to take Gu Xueqian directly to Tianling City

to complete the guild joining ceremony there.

But the moment she stepped out of the temple,

she saw Gu Xueqian standing there, staring blankly

at a group of people lying on the ground, groaning and rolling around.

Good grief—

seven or eight people,

just lying right in front of the Job Advancement Temple plaza.

Each one was bruised and swollen, looking utterly miserable.

One of them had it the worst—

his nose was bleeding profusely, and several teeth were even knocked out…

Huh? Wasn't that the guy who advanced into Ice Mage?

How did he get beaten into this state?

Since Wang Fei's advancement result was the rare class Ice Mage,

Xu Yan had a bit of an impression of him.

That said, she didn't pay it much mind.

PVP was completely normal.

As long as no one died, nobody really cared.

Not just in Dongling City—

even in the more strictly regulated Tianling City,

if someone didn't like someone else,

they'd just fight it out directly. No hesitation.

"Xu Yan, sis."

Seeing Xu Yan,

Gu Xueqian finally snapped back to reality.

But the shock on her face hadn't faded yet.

"Let's go. The teleportation certificate is ready."

"We'll head to Tianling City first and finish your guild joining ceremony. That way, you'll be able to enjoy the guild buff bonuses."

"Mm, okay."

Gu Xueqian nodded.

But then she hesitated and carefully asked:

"Xu Yan sis, can I ask… how high does a warrior's level have to be for their speed to be so fast that people can't even see them clearly?"

"So fast you can't see them clearly?"

Xu Yan didn't know why Gu Xueqian was asking,

but she patiently explained:

"You have naturally high Spirit—18 points."

"If you mean fast enough that even you can't see clearly,

their Speed would need to exceed yours by about three times—so at least 54 points."

54 points!

Given that each level grants 10 free attribute points,

even if all of them were invested into Speed,

it would still require at least six levels!

And Su Yang was a warrior—

would he really put all his points into Speed?

That was clearly impossible!

Which meant—

Su Yang's level…

might very well have exceeded Level 10!?

Gu Xueqian's confusion deepened even further.

Reaching Level 10+ in just half a day?

How did Su Yang do it?

Could it be that…

Su Yang had some background she didn't know about,

and under the guidance of some big shot,

he'd leveled past 10 in half a day?

"Let's go. If we don't leave now, we'll miss the teleportation array's opening time."

Since maintaining a teleportation array consumed massive energy,

small cities usually only opened them at fixed times.

"Ah… o-okay."

"What's wrong with you? You seem distracted."

"N-nothing…"

"Oh right, when I came out of the temple earlier, I saw a handsome guy—wow, he was really good-looking. Did you see him?"

Job Advancement Temple

After entering the temple,

before long, a young lady working at the temple walked over to Su Yang.

Those chosen to work at the temple

were all young, beautiful women.

When she saw Su Yang, her eyes instantly lit up.

After silently praising how handsome he was,

she asked enthusiastically:

"Sir, how may I help you?"

"I'd like to undergo job advancement."

"Alright—"

Before she could finish speaking,

the temple attendant suddenly froze.

Her bright, watery eyes stared at Su Yang in disbelief.

She hadn't misheard just now… right?

This handsome young man wanted to… advance jobs?

But the issue was—

he looked several years younger than even her.

If nothing unexpected had happened,

he should be a student who had only recently completed the awakening ceremony.

But job advancement required Level 20!

"What's wrong? Is there a problem?"

Seeing her shocked expression, Su Yang asked with a smile.

"N-no, no problem at all. Please come with me."

The attendant's professional instincts kicked in immediately.

She instantly concluded that Su Yang must be a powerful second-generation heir.

Otherwise, how could he possibly reach Level 20 for first advancement in such a short time?

With that realization,

her form of address immediately changed from "student" to "sir,"

becoming noticeably more respectful.

Soon—

under the attendant's guidance,

Su Yang arrived before the room housing the Job Advancement Statue.

"Once you enter the room, the statue will automatically detect your level and issue a job advancement quest. Upon completion, you'll finish your advancement."

"Okay."

Su Yang nodded.

And stepped into the room with the Job Advancement Statue.
