Chapter 2 - chapter 2 The Soldier Academy Begins

[The system has detected a vampire-related book inside the wardrobe in your room.]

The sudden system message left me stunned.

"Yes… I saw it in my status earlier," I thought. "There's another bloodline that's still locked. Could it be related to that book?"

With that thought in mind, I walked toward the wardrobe. Inside, there was a book resting quietly. It was large and thick

I estimated it weighed at least half a kilogram.

The cover page was a faint blood-red color, and in the center was an image of vampire fangs formed from bones.

The system was right. This book was deeply connected to vampires. But how did Aditya get this book?

Searching through his memories, I found the answer. When his parents died, a government worker had given him this book, saying, "This was found among your parents' belongings. That's why it belongs to you."

After that, Aditya tried many times to open the book, but failed every single time. He tried burning it with fire, soaking it in water, and many other methods.

He had tried nearly ninety-nine times. Yesterday, he was planning to try for the hundredth time—but unfortunately, he died that very day.

"How do I open this?" I wondered.

Could this be like those special items described in novels from my previous life?

In most novels, the protagonist activates an item using blood contact. This book might be the same.

That idea struck me.I picked up a small piece of glass lying nearby and pierced my finger.

Prick

With great difficulty, a drop of blood came out. That was because my second skill was healing. And this wasn't some ordinary healing.

Even if one of my body parts were torn off, it would regenerate instantly. The side effect was that the more damage I took, the more blood it consumed.

As for my first skill—you had already seen it. My overall stats had increased drastically, making me different from a normal vampire.

The drop of blood fell onto the book.

Fwoosh—!

The moment it touched the surface, the book began floating in the air, its pages flipping rapidly on their own.

Flip—flip—flip—

The language written on the pages was something I had never seen before. Yet strangely, I could understand it.

When the last page was reached, the book slowly began turning into dust—and then it flowed straight into my body.

[A second bloodline has been unlocked within the host's body.]

[It has been detected that this bloodline belongs to a different vampire species.]

[This bloodline is compatible with your current one. Do you wish to fuse them?]

[Yes / No]

Before I could even react, more messages appeared.

[Another system has been detected within the host. It is extremely low-level and unsuitable for you.]

[Host, I can devour it.]

[Yes]

All these messages flooded into my mind.

I stood there in shock, trying to understand what was happening.

First, about the vampire bloodline—Aditya had no memories related to this at all.

I suspected that one of his parents must have been a vampire. And not just any vampire, but a high-level one.

That was why the system gave me the option to fuse instead of deleting it outright.

From Aditya's memories, I originally thought he was just a normal human. I never expected him to be connected to vampires.

What surprised me even more was how Aditya had remained human until now.Next was the question of the book being a system—which seemed impossible.

But then I remembered something I hadn't explained yet. This world had Skill Books.

There were many types of skill books—elemental skill books, element-related skill books, and more.

This much I learned from Aditya's memories. There were other types too, but how could Aditya know about them? He was just a school student who hadn't awakened any skills.

None of those books functioned like a system. And current human technology wasn't advanced enough to create something like this.

Coming back to my senses, I spoke to the system."I give my consent."

As soon as I granted permission, the system began operating. The second vampire bloodline merged into my body.

Boom—!

I felt a world of power exploding inside me. It was as if strength was overflowing through every vein.

When I checked my status, I discovered that all my stats had increased by +5.

During this process, the Vampire Lord System completely devoured the low-level system.

[Host, new functions have been acquired.]

[For now, two functions have been unlocked.]

[You can view them on your panel.]

I nodded and touched a tab on the panel. A new screen appeared.

[Store]

[Unlocks at Beginner Noble Level 10]

Many other functions were still locked. Then I touched another unlocked tab.

[Daily Mission]

[Drink 5 liters of water today.]

[Reward: 50 XP]

After checking the system's functions, I decided to close the panel.

Shing—

The panel disappeared.A new value appeared in my status.

[XP: 50 / 1000]

"So this is how I level up," I muttered.

"I was wondering how levels even worked before."

Once this bar filled up, I would reach Level 2.

After some time, I completed the system's first mission.

In the past, even drinking two liters of water was difficult for me—but now, five liters felt easy.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Someone was knocking loudly on the door, startling me.I walked over and opened it.

Creak—

Outside stood several soldiers. At the front was their superior officer. He was tall, well-built, bald, and wearing a black military uniform with the Earth emblem shining on it. His name was written on his chest.

Colonel Pandey.

"Son, pack your bag and come with us," he said firmly. "The bus has been waiting for you for five minutes."

Only then did I remember—today was the day Aditya was supposed to go to the Soldier Academy.

"Hurry up," Colonel Pandey announced.

"From today onward, you're heading to the Soldier Academy."

Because of the war between humans and Primals, every student was required to undergo two years of training at the Soldier Academy.

Even though this was a time of peace, no one could say when the war might break out again.

Primals saw humans as nothing more than ants and were constantly planning to seize human resources.

How could anyone believe they truly wanted peace? That so-called peace agreement was nothing more than preparation for war.

I walked outside with them. As soon as sunlight fell on my body, I felt a slight weakness.

Suddenly, system messages appeared in front of me.

[HP: 1100 → 880]

[Strength: 55 → 44]

[Agility: 65 → 52]

[Stamina: 45 → 36]

Seeing this, I realized that my stats had dropped by 20%, yet I didn't feel any serious discomfort. More importantly, my recovery ability was still active—it hadn't been sealed.

"So this is how it works," I thought calmly.

Colonel Pandey and I walked a little further from my apartment and soon arrived near a bus.

Hiss—

The bus doors opened. As I stepped inside, I saw many students seated there—faces I had never seen before.I felt relieved. Aditya didn't have any classmates from his old school here.

Even if they were present, I could easily defeat them now. Still, I wanted to start fresh at my new academy and avoid unnecessary trouble.

"Well… this works out perfectly," I said with a faint smile. Students from different schools.A new beginning.

I quietly took a seat, my eyes sharp as I observed my surroundings. The Soldier Academy awaited.
