Chapter 295 Arrival
The flight to Hokkaido wasn't short, but not too long either. After an hour and a bit, and a short nap on the plane, everyone finally looked out the window at the reminder of the in-flight announcement, seeing a completely different landscape from when they took off an hour ago.
"Oh!!! Everything is white!"
Sitting by the window, Eriri was practically pressed against it, looking at the scenery below, her face full of excitement, "Although I knew it snowed here a few days ago, I didn't expect there to be so much snow still! Kaede-kun, when we get there, we absolutely have to build a snowman and have a snowball fight!"
"Of course, I have no problem with that." Kaede said with a smile, "But before that, we need to settle in and then have lunch."
"Oh, right, it's already lunchtime!"
Eriri touched her stomach and said, "For the past half year, I've never eaten late. What are we going to eat later?"
"There's a lot of good food here in Hokkaido. Let's pick something out after we leave the airport."
As he spoke, Kaede looked to the other side of the aisle and saw that the President was still sleeping with an eye mask on. He then gestured to the awake Uchimaki Subaru, telling him to wake up the President quickly because they were about to land.
After several reminders from Uchimaki Subaru, the President finally woke up and took off his eye mask.
"Ah... sleeping on the plane is so uncomfortable. We're finally here."
Everyone really couldn't understand how the President could fall asleep anywhere, and so quickly at that.
However, considering his past belief that sleeping more would make him taller, it seemed to have some results; his height was definitely above average.
Soon, with a slight tremor, the plane safely landed at Sapporo Airport. After about ten minutes of waiting and passing through customs, everyone found their luggage and finally walked out of the airport smoothly.
"Ah!!! Hokkaido... it's so cold!"
Just as she was about to shout, a gust of wind blew, causing Eriri to directly hide behind Kaede: "It feels even colder than the wind in Tokyo!"
"Since it has snowed, even if the temperature is the same, it still feels more biting, not to mention that Hokkaido's temperature is even lower."
Kaede helped Eriri adjust her hat and earmuffs, then said to everyone, "Let's go! Let's first put our luggage at the guesthouse where we're staying, and then we'll go find something to eat!"
"Oh!!!"
After a thirty-minute car ride, Kaede, guided by his phone's navigation, led everyone to the guesthouse they had booked.
It was a traditional Japanese-style small courtyard house. It naturally couldn't compare to large hot spring inns, but for the few of them, it was more than enough.
The owner of the house had been waiting there a few minutes in advance. After they introduced themselves, the owner handed the keys to Kaede and showed everyone around the interior, familiarizing them with the various facilities before bidding them farewell.
Once they were alone again, Kaede said with a smile, "Alright, before we go out to eat, there's one last thing: room assignments. There are five bedrooms here, but I think two people per room is better. What do you all think?"
Uchimaki Subaru and the President exchanged glances. They had no problem with it, as neither of them snored when they slept.
Utaha looked at Kaede and Eriri, who were naturally going to share a room, and then said to Usami, "Then, as we said before, I'll share a room with Usami. When we're traveling, don't even think about having a room to yourself!"
Usami had actually thought about it at first, but since Utaha said so, she naturally had no problem with it. It was a good opportunity to ask her senior some things about love metronome, which she had been following diligently.
Of the five rooms, two were naturally left empty. When they dragged their suitcases to the bedroom area, both Uchimaki Subaru's group and Usami's group chose to walk further inside.
Then Utaha said to Kaede and Eriri, "How about you two stay in the outermost room?"
Eriri tilted her head: "Hmm? Why this arrangement?"
Utaha's gaze drifted back and forth between Eriri and Kaede, and she said playfully, "We are all single people, so we hope you can be a little restrained."
"..."
At that, both Kaede and Eriri understood. Eriri glared directly at Utaha, then pulled Kaede into the room.
Turning back, Utaha spread her hands to the others and said, "Actually, I don't think they'd go that far when they're out having fun, but I couldn't help but say something. Let's go, Usami, let's tidy up and then it's time to eat."
After the two girls also went into their room, the President looked at Uchimaki Subaru, who had already gone in ahead of him, sighed deeply, and followed him in.
The bedroom's decor, just like its exterior, was a Japanese-style tatami layout. Although simple, it looked very comfortable.
Opening the closet, Kaede checked the futons and yukatas inside, and after confirming nothing was missing, he said to Eriri, "Do you want to organize your luggage?"
"No need, let's do it tonight. Anyway, we only brought some clothes."
Eriri sat on the cushion, looked around the room, and said, "Hehe, I feel like it's been a really, really long time since I've stayed in a room like this. I basically only stay in them when I travel."
"Me too. I hope I don't feel uncomfortable when I sleep tonight."
Compared to a large bed at home, sleeping in a tatami room, even with thick bedding, some people might still find it difficult to get used to.
Eriri shook her head happily: "Hehe, I don't think so. The few times I've gone out to play before, I've slept very comfortably. The setup here is not bad at all, so there's even less to worry about."
After resting in the room for a while, they grabbed their wallets, left the room, called the other four, and set off together to find a place for lunch.
As their first meal on their Hokkaido trip, it had to be a hearty one. So, after asking some local residents and checking their phones, they found a seafood restaurant and prepared for a seafood feast.
Looking at the menu, Eriri excitedly said, "Wow! Seafood platter! Kaede-kun, Kaede-kun, I want to eat this!"
"Okay, let's order it."
Everyone had no dietary restrictions regarding seafood, and their stomachs were hungry, so they all ordered what they really wanted to eat, feeling very happy. Freshly caught seafood in the morning could be eaten at noon; who wouldn't be happy about that?
