Chapter 32 - Chapter 32 It Really

Works After a long day of intense activity, Chu Ge's energy wore off, and he realized he was starving.

Qiu Wuji hadn't cooked tonight; he'd given him a massage and then disappeared, and he'd been writing ever since.

Thinking about Qiu Wuji's comments about internal organ imbalance, Chu Ge decided he needed to maintain a regular schedule and stick to running and other exercises. Otherwise, he'd fall into the trap of "getting things too easily," squandering them recklessly and losing them quickly.

Next time she came over, he wanted her to see a vibrant Chu Ge.

Thinking this, he opened the door to go out for dinner, just as the door across the hall opened. A girl in black stepped out, and seeing Chu Ge also coming out, she instinctively wanted to back away.

But seeing Chu Ge alone, she hesitated for a moment, then finally stepped out.

Chu Ge didn't look at her, pressed the elevator button, and waited quietly for the elevator. The girl stood quietly to one side, waiting until the elevator descended. The two stood silently inside, not uttering a single word.

"Ding!" The elevator reached the first floor.

As the doors opened, the girl suddenly spoke: "I'm looking for an apartment… I'll be moving in the next few days. Sorry."

She then hurried away.

Chu Ge slowly stepped out of the elevator and walked in the opposite direction.

It seems this girl knows everything… Logically, she shouldn't be able to detect Po Qiu Wuji's invisibility. Perhaps she guessed the whole story just because she saw him there.

But she's alright; she's reasonable.

Chu Ge realized he didn't feel the fear he'd expected from encountering a "lethal superpowered individual." Maybe it was because they'd been neighbors for so long, practically acquaintances? Or maybe it was because he'd been held to a sword by a female Tyrannosaurus Rex; he'd seen it all…

Besides, he was a cultivator now… Chu Ge silently ate his beef noodles, seemingly able to feel the subtle process of energy decomposing and entering his body, as if detached, overlooking the universe within him.

Qi Refining Stage.

Chu Ge couldn't yet substitute meditation for sleep. After eating, he took a shower, sat cross-legged on the bed, and circulated his qi through the meridians as instructed by Qiu Wuji, completing thirty-six cycles. Whether his cultivation had improved was unknown, but one benefit was that he became extremely focused and calm. His pre-sleep anxieties were largely gone, and he fell asleep the moment his head hit the pillow.

Putting everything else aside, it was quite effective at treating insomnia… He woke up early the next day, just as dawn was breaking. Having slept deeply all night, he felt incredibly refreshed. Chu Ge practiced another thirty-six cycles, then went for a run, did push-ups, squats, showered, and ate breakfast. He finished all this just after eight o'clock.

He sat down at his computer, full of energy, and started typing. His thinking felt much clearer and more agile. Chu Ge was moved to tears.

With this much energy, I should have been promoted at work years ago.

Another 10,000 words today!

Amidst Chu Ge's vigorous efforts, the featured recommendation arrived as scheduled.

Chu Ge hadn't checked the backend data in a long time, but today he couldn't resist checking it repeatedly.

The increase in favorites is terrifying… dozens more with each refresh, breaking a thousand in less than an hour! Is this the kind of big promotion that a flop like Chu Ge has been longing for?

How many of these favorites will convert into subscriptions is still unknown. After all, new readers need to read the public chapters before deciding whether to continue reading, and it's only been an hour, so it won't be reflected in subscriptions yet.

But even at the most average conversion rate, a significant increase in performance is definitely possible.

Speaking of which, it's been a while since he checked the subscription data. Looking at it now, it's even slightly higher than before the initial loss, meaning that quite a few new readers came to read the book before the promotion, making up for the loss—is it related to that strange traffic-driving event a while ago?

It seems that the sequel written by Xiao Ji Ba because of Qiu Wuji's change of fate hasn't failed. It was already showing slight growth before the promotion; is it going to take off after the promotion?

Chu Ge had initially thought the data, which he hadn't checked in a long time, was disastrous and desperately needed a featured recommendation to save him, but surprisingly, the opposite was true. He felt a sense of good fortune was turning around.

Was it the female lead's appearance that brought him luck?

Chu Ge took a deep breath, closed the background app, and focused on writing.

The last part of today's 10,000-word update was a bit special. Chu Ge didn't want to be too distracted by the results, as he was writing about Qiu Wuji and Yan Qianlie attempting to resonate with the Heavenly Dao to establish a wager.

Descriptively, this was described as, "A muffled thunderous sound seemed to come from the sky, and large, gilded characters faintly appeared; the wager was established..." As for how Qiu Wuji communicated with the "Heavenly Dao," the specific process wasn't shown; this was simply the author's deus ex machina setting, not a genuine interaction with the Heavenly Dao.

But what if the "Heavenly Will" was none other than Chu Ge himself, and Qiu Wuji clearly knew this? How would this plot appear in Qiu Wuji's eyes, in her "communication process"?

In a sense, wasn't this a way of writing himself, Chu Ge, into the book? Could he descend?

Chu Ge nervously typed, "Qiu Wuji seemed to sense the gaze of the heavens, as if something resonated within her."

After a brief wait, there was no response.

Chu Ge gritted his teeth and decided to be more explicit: "For her, the 'Heavenly Dao' was no longer an elusive mystery, but something real and capable of responding."

As if experiencing a shattering illusion, the screen before Chu Ge's eyes gradually blurred, transformed, and stretched, revealing blue skies, white clouds, and towering mountains, faintly appearing before him.

Qiu Wuji stood atop the mountain, hands clasped behind her back, gazing at the sky. Before her stood a monstrous man, engulfed in flames, like a demon god.

Yan Qianlie, the Heaven-Burning and Earth-Destroying Demon Lord, one of the strongest demon lords in this world.

"What kind of resonance with the Heavenly Dao is this? Qiu Wuji, have you lost your mind?" Yan Qianlie laughed loudly. "What do we cultivate for? To be unrestrained! To break through this realm, to roam beyond the realms, to shatter the heavens! And you actually tell me you want to communicate with the Heavenly Dao and have it bind us! Hahahaha! What kind of immortality are you cultivating?!"

Qiu Wuji said calmly, "Every realm has its own rules, and that is the Heavenly Dao. Before we even step out of this realm, we must at least respect it. Any method you use is actually within the Heavenly Dao. Do you think you created it against the heavens?"

"Haha, is this what you call walking towards the Dao? What a joke! If you hold such thoughts..." "When will you tear this sky apart?" Yan Qianlie laughed loudly. "I won't discuss the Dao with you. If you want to follow the heavens, then go ahead!" Qiu Wuji coldly said, "Since you know we can't work together, why are you wasting your breath?" Yan Qianlie laughed, "What I'm laughing at is that the so-called Heavenly Dao's covenant is essentially similar to a vow, but you and I have cultivated for so long that we are no longer bound by vows. What Heavenly Dao can interfere with my affairs? No matter how much you try to communicate, it's useless, understand? Look at all that communication you've done, have you received any response?" Qiu Wuji looked up at the sky and said calmly, "You can't talk about ice with a summer insect. Just wait and see." Inwardly cursing Chu Ge, "What are you doing? Don't tell me I haven't even written this part yet, and it doesn't count because I started early? Even if I started early, it should still count! You wrote the outline!

Hurry up and write, you bastard! I'm being laughed at!

Speaking of this Heavenly Dao resonance, how does it resonate? This thing isn't elusive, isn't it clearly you? Why did you jump in yourself?" Just then, she felt the heavens watching her.

Looking back, she saw nothing.

Yan Qianlie's laughter ceased, his eyes filled with doubt and uncertainty.

Both of them simultaneously felt a vast pressure descend upon their souls, sweeping and peaceful, like the flow of time itself—present yet elusive and irreversible.

Deep within their souls, a resonance seemed to echo: "The duel between Qiu Wuji and Yan Qianlie is established." A muffled thunderous sound seemed to resound from the sky, and gilded characters faintly appeared, confirming the agreement.

Yan Qianlie's expression was extremely grave. He truly felt a constraint on his heart; if he broke the agreement afterward, there would likely be serious problems…

This was actually real?

Qiu Wuji didn't seize the opportunity to mock him.

Chu Ge's smiling face clearly appeared in her soul, winking mischievously at her.

Qiu Wuji smiled and silently replied, "So it really is possible... to see you here."
