Chapter 15 - Dialogue In Space

◇◇◇◇◇

Two figures stood in a region of space unlike any other. One a blonde-haired old man, white robe untouched by cosmic dust as He finally spoke to the other. The white-haired man on a throne.

[Medes?....How cold.... Once upon a time you used to call me old man Valerion with that star struck look in your eyes ]. Medes stated as he reminisce about the past.

But he was only met with silence. As the white-haired man. Altáir didn't respond. Only sitting up straight as courtesy.

[ "Haaa....Still staring like you're trying to predict what i might do?. You used to do that during lessons" ].

The older man spoke again. Resting his hands behind his back, posture relaxed, as he seemed older than he looked.

[ "The first step to defeating any enemy is the mind. You taught me that " ]. Altáir finally spoke his voice cold. Expression unchanged.

[ "Hmmph I don't remember teaching any unfilial student like you " ]. Medes said indignantly. As he began to regret his life choices over the last millennial.

[ " Well you Gods have a history of enslaving races you deem to be lesser " ]. Altáir replied with a casual shrug. Obviously enjoying himself as he casually revealed the old man's race.

[ " Not only unfillial but also racist now huh. Well whatever....so are you going to explain what I'm seeing right now?" ]. Medes said glancing at the storm of energy quite a distance away.

[ "Oh... I thought you always insisted patience was a virtue you possessed in excess " ]. He replied a rare smirk flashing across his features for a second.

The older man chuckled. "And you always mistook impatience for discipline."

A brief silence passed between them, filled by the thunderless roar of the mystic energy colliding with itself.

"You've changed," the older man said at last. A proud look on his face. " That Crown...you've reached it huh.... It suits you more than I expected."

" Retirement suits you as well," the younger replied calmly. "You were becoming senile from old age.

"That's because I aged more whilst teaching you ". The old man deadpaned.

The younger man finally turned his head, just slightly. A ghost of a smile touched his lips before vanishing. "You taught me many things. Some of them regrettable."

To which the old man just laughed.

Below them, the storm convulsed. A spiral formed—deliberate now. Intentional.

"Ah....now that i think about it this looks familiar ". The older man murmured.

" It does....So do you want to chase away the small fries?... It might be something valuable ". He said to the old man.

As he said this the people that where drawn towards this region seemingly undetected by the two froze in place.

" Now now Altáir.... No need to be mean to the guests....Let's just see what this is about then we decide.... No one has to die today.

The words of the old man caused them to sigh in relief.

" Sure Old man...I'll let them live....For now ".

" Let's see till what chapter these NPC's last". He added coldly.

'____'

Medes was stunned for a good minute but before he could respond to Altáir's words. The storm of energy thickened and pulsed strangely.

" Oh "

" Is that? ".
