Kelvin choked on his breath, his chest tightening as though the air had suddenly become too heavy to inhale.
"What do you mean?" he managed to ask after a brief struggle, his voice slightly unsteady as he forced himself to regain composure.
"I mean…you are lying," Sonia replied without hesitation, her gaze steady and unyielding as it locked onto his.
"I am not…" Kelvin began instinctively, but the denial barely left his lips.
In the next moment, his eyes widened in shock, and his entire body went rigid as Sonia leaned forward and sealed his lips with hers.
For a heartbeat, time seemed to stand still.
His heart slammed violently against his chest, each beat louder than the last.
