Synopsis
Let's be honest here. What's the first thing that comes to mind when you think about love? Eternity? Tragedy? Yin and Yang? A random short that has no business appearing there? For me it's the joy of watching couples acting like they know what love is. Because let's be real. What is love if not a drama script? Only it's the kind that you can never get tired of. That trait certainly pays off when one has to take on the duty of travelling the multiverse all in the name of becoming the universe's greatest third wheel aka the Anti-Cupid. You know, the kid your mom slips a dollar to to make sure no boys/girls get near you. Only in my context the mom is the literal world will and the consequence of failure is the whole world ending instead of just a " Mission Failed." So here I am enjoying my youth as I give fairytale couples a not so fairytale ending. And let's just say it fits me. °°°°°°°°°°°°°° A standard transmigration story about an adventurous spirit and her foodie system travelling through the multiverse as they help people re-learn common sense. °°°°°°°°°°°°°° World line - 1. Interstellar, Enemies to lovers, Campus love story 2. °°°°°°°°°°°°°° The cover is AI generated. Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 : Spring Ball

On an A-grade planet far far into the intergalactic future.

The galaxy's most prestigious military academy was hosting its start of the year celebration ball as a tribute to the upcoming new year.

The luxurious hall glimmered with glamour as music and chatter filled the air, bringing the place to life. Black suits and black ties complimented the gorgeous evening gowns as pairs and groups made their place within the hall.

Waiters walked by, their trays filled with food and drinks as people made merry amongst the finest wine and messiest of rumors. The whole place was lively as everyone waited for the start of the ball.

Amongst the crowd where even brilliance would lose its shine, one particular figure stood out, his bearing subtle but elegant. His black hair and purple eyes along with his slightly sun-tanned skin made him look like a fairytale prince.

Champagne glass in hand, Xavier showed a practiced smile as he chatted with the group of people around him, taking small sips at intervals. But even while deep in conversation nothing could stop his restless eyes from darting around as they tried to spot something or someone from amongst the crowd.

Too bad that while the prince was already here the princess was still on her way.

Outside the almost glowing hall lines of old fashioned carriages mixed in amongst the latest flying car models were still making their way towards the dedicated hall. One after the other guests still continued to arrive as the evening slowly grew darker.

A pair of crystal heels clanked against the marble staircase as shimmers of silver swept the stairs beneath. With hurried steps the figure made her way towards the southern hall as anxiety subconsciously creeped in at the thought of being late to the gathering.

Yet still no amount of nerves could wipe the pleasant smile tugging at her lips that just could not go away. Nor could they hide the slight bounce in her steps and her quietly yet firmly beating heart. In the end Merideth could only quicken her pace.

As the crowd thickened Xavier could only excuse himself from the group and walk towards the snack bar in order to catch his breath. The ball hadn't yet officially started but he already felt stuffy. His thoughts were all jumbled up and he wasn't quite feeling as himself lately.

To calm himself down he thought to steer his mind elsewhere and decided to better utilize the time by making mental notes of his to-do list for the year all in preparation for the upcoming senior year. He was already in his 3rd year and if all went well this would very much be his last few months within these four walls. Next year he would already be sent off to some border territory to complete his practical field assessment before finally graduating in spring.

For Xavier it was neither exciting nor depressing. After all, graduating from here was all but one of the many steps already laid out for him from the moment of his birth as a prince of the Alliance. What could he do but follow through? In all honesty, for Xavier his only goal was to do well as expected of him and carve out a future for himself, lest his mother come to pressure him about not trying hard enough or not being as good as his brothers again.

With his thoughts running wild Xavier hadn't even realized when his wandering eyes had drifted towards the entrance where the last of the crowd was coming through. Nor could he understand as to why he could not bear to take his eyes away from the figure who made her way in last.

Golden hair and golden eyes, dressed in the lightest of silver turning almost white, Merideth couldn't help but sigh when she realized that she indeed had been able to make it in time. Her heavy heart could only then be at ease.

With a bright smile her eyes darted from one place to another as they curiously took in the well decorated hall. But more so they searched for a figure who had all but occupied her mind for days.

In her search two pairs of eyes collided with sparks flying all over. Golden met purple and their bodies seemed to freeze. Then almost as if coming out of a trance, with one swift motion both sides looked the other way and walked in complete opposite directions as they muttered quietly under their breath.

" Bloody bad luck!!!"
