Chapter 42 - Chapter 42: The Breaking Point

The phone rang loudly.

I tried to stop it, but I felt someone outside.

"Is that them?" I muttered.

"Look who's there! What's that sound?"

Fear shot through me. I took a step back, thinking to hide or run.

I bolted.

They glanced outside… and saw me.

It was me.

They chased.

A quiet place, far from the city noise. They watched silently.

Friend of Rion: "Who's listening in on us?"

Another: "I don't know. We need to find him before he tells anyone what we said."

Rion approached calmly, as if nothing had happened.

He always watches. No need to search.

"We'll meet him when the time comes," he said.

I hid behind a car, listening.

I dusted off my clothes and headed home, thoughts racing.

I recorded everything in my mind, planning, analyzing, figuring out my next move.

I rested my chin on my hands, eyes heavy with sleep.

I needed peace.

I lay down, still in my clothes.

I closed my eyes and dreamed… a better future.

Happiness surged. Hope flickered inside me.

Hours later, I woke. Still night.

Four a.m.

I went to the kitchen, searching for food.

Parents asleep, exhausted.

I stepped outside, the streets empty, quiet. Only the dim lights guided me.

I reached the store, got my items.

On the way back… footsteps.

From a distance, approaching.

It was them.

What now?

I ignored them, walking steadily.

They grabbed my jacket.

"Miron! Wait! Shouldn't you greet us? Or do you still hate us? Talk!"

I stared at them, sharp and cold.

They argued loudly among themselves.

"Talk! Say something!"

"What's wrong with you?"

The others sneered.

"Maybe he's too scared… too weak."

"Miron, if you're really weak, show us your skills. Demonstrate your power!"

I stared for a few seconds, eyes icy cold.

All this talk about revealing my power… I hadn't planned it.

"Step back!" I snapped.

Miron struck me hard across the face.

Silence.

My palm pressed against my mouth, blood dripping.

My fingers stained red.

I felt nothing.

They laughed, mocking, approaching me in a group.

I looked at them, silent, cold.

"Maybe we can finish him. Life doesn't matter for these people," one said.

"Seems he has no real power," another added.

Miron grabbed a sharp object to strike me.

I caught it instantly.

Shock flashed across their faces.

A blue, fiery aura ignited around me.

Their steps faltered.

My eyes glowed cold, terrifying.

A silent, calm smile appeared.

They tried to comprehend.

I gripped the object, slammed it down.

Chaos erupted.

They struck blindly at each other. Some tried to flee. Some attacked me.

I countered tactically. One by one, they fell.

Miron attempted to approach… then froze, terrified.

None expected me.

Alone, he faced me.

He begged, "I didn't… I won't tell anyone… stop, please!"

I ignored him.

I grabbed him, lifted him by the shirt, and struck his head with the sharp edge in my hand.

The ground was soaked in blood.

Reality hit me.

I was the one who acted. Not me… someone else.

I stared at my hands, trying to comprehend.

What had I done?

I had exploded.

Uncontrollable.

Revenge taken… in a way so deep, so final.

What now?
