Bella's POV
Genevieve stared at me with shock, clearly realizing I wasn't messing around. For a moment, she just stood there, speechless.
This was the first time I hadn't turned them down flat.
Joy lit up Genevieve's face. She looked ready to burst into giggles but held back, probably scared of ticking me off.
Fighting to contain her excitement, Genevieve bobbed her head like a puppet. "Perfect! No point wasting time. Let's get moving."
She barked orders at the servants. "Pack some treats for the ladies."
Genevieve gazed at me with that desperate, pleading look and reached for my hand. I smoothly stepped out of range.
Her smile cracked for a split second before she plastered it back on. "You look so delicate, sweetheart. Why don't you ride with me? My carriage has more space and cushions."
Genevieve had been trying to get closer to me forever, but whatever she pulled, I kept my distance.
Today felt like her big chance.
