I spun around in shock to spot a striking woman propped against a column. Her arms were folded as she threw a contemptuous look our way.
Of course, her target was Ivy.
The woman stood by herself, radiating arrogance, as she worked a piece of straw between her teeth.
Looking quite satisfied with what she'd done, she cockily lifted her chin toward Ivy and smirked, "Right, Miss Fairfax?"
Ivy looked like she'd been exposed completely, her cheeks blazing red with humiliation.
Right now, she probably wanted the earth to open up and consume her entirely.
That simple "Miss Fairfax" completely devastated her.
She had no blood ties to the Fairfax family, since she was just their adopted daughter. The genuine Miss Fairfax was me.
Ivy's tears poured down her face, and this time, they were genuinely authentic.
