I gripped the letter tight, my forehead creasing into worried lines.
I knew this message reeked of trouble.
But Ursula was my world.
If something happened to Grandmother, I'd never forgive myself.
My decision crystallized as I turned to Helena with unwavering resolve. "Whatever the cost, I'm going back to Valeridge City to see what's really happening."
Only when I can confirm Grandmother's safety will I have any peace.
Helena's face went pale with panic. "This timing can't be coincidence! Don't be reckless, child. Ivy's badly hurt, and the Fairfaxes worship the ground she walks on. They'll want blood for what happened to her!"
I dropped my gaze, hiding the storm brewing in my chest. "I don't have a choice. And I can handle myself."
"But—" Helena started, but I cut her off with a confident grin. "Trust me, Your Highness. I'll come back in one piece. Even if Ivy recovers, she won't dare cross me. I know her dirty secrets."
