Chapter 13 - THE FIANCEE REVEAL

"What was that for?" she asked, her voice trembling slightly.

"To show him that you're mine," I replied, my tone low, deliberate.

After what felt like an eternity, I realized I wanted to go home. Normally, I despised attending business meetings—they always felt like noise—but tonight, the chaos was worse. Cali wasn't in her best mood either; she shifted uncomfortably in her chair, avoiding Thomas's intense gaze. I stood, signaling her to follow

We moved cautiously toward the exit, the guards' eyes tracking our every step.

"Already leaving?" Henry, one of the investors, asked, his tone dripping with curiosity. Cali froze.

"What the fuck," I muttered, rolling my eyes, annoyed.

"Yes, you've got something to say," I groused, ignoring him.

"Oh," he exclaimed, caught off guard. I was about to brush past when his words stopped me cold.

"Won't you introduce her?" he asked, smirking mockingly, making Cali flinch. She was clearly shy, clutching my hand just a little too tightly. I cleared my throat, the sound echoing in the hall. Some men stared, but I didn't care—we had to leave.

"Well, her name is Cali Rillion," I said, pausing for effect. Their eyes locked on me, hungry for more.

"And she's my fiancée," I added, dropping the bombshell with a wide grin.

I drew her closer, pressing my lips to hers, earning a sharp gasp that rang through the hall. Thomas's face betrayed a mixture of rage and shock, and I smirked, savoring the moment.

"I think we can leave now," I whispered, not waiting for their response. I took Cali's hand, and we left.

The car ride was silent, almost suffocating, yet oddly comforting. Cali seemed lost in her own thoughts, and I didn't want to break that—though I was exhausted.

Finally home, Cali rushed inside, barely waiting for me to open the door. My mind raced—first Thomas, then Bryan, then the hall, and every lingering gaze. Everything had gone utterly, wildly crazy.

I felt invincible. The moment in the hall had felt eternal, a reckless, intoxicating high. My first kiss, loud and unabashed, had shaken me, but in a thrilling way.

Exhausted, I collapsed in my room, realizing I needed rest—and to check on my brother's health.

Then I heard it—a husky voice, commanding and firm:

"Stop."

I turned, muttering, "Hmm," and followed him toward his room, my heart thudding in my chest.

"Follow me," he said icily. I trailed, cautious, letting him lead.

Once inside, I shut the door behind me, dim light casting shadows over his giant bed. My gaze flicked nervously around.

"Are you done?" he asked, pulling me back to reality.

I stared at the floor, fiddling with my nails, remembering the chaos that had unfolded here just hours ago.

The tension, the rage, the shock—it all came rushing back, suffocating yet intoxicating.
