Chapter 157 - Chapter 150 — The Line They Didn’t Cross… Until Now

The kiss didn't end the way the others had.

There was no slow pullback.

No quiet space where one of them tried to say something clever or deflect the weight of it.

This time

It lingered.

And then it deepened.

Elias felt it first.

The shift.

Subtle, but unmistakable.

Dominic's hand at his side tightened not enough to hurt, not even enough to hold him in place, but enough to say something without words.

Don't move.

And Elias didn't.

Not because he was frozen.

Not because he didn't understand what was happening.

But because he did.

For once

He understood exactly what this meant.

His hand moved on its own, sliding up Dominic's chest, fingers pressing slightly into the fabric like he was grounding himself in something real.

Dominic reacted instantly.

A quiet breath sharper this time.

Different.

When their lips parted, it wasn't to create distance.

It was just enough to breathe.

Nothing more.

Dominic's forehead rested against his again, but this time, his hand didn't still.

It moved.

Slowly.

Upward.

From Elias's waist… to his side… just slightly higher.

Elias felt it.

Every inch of it.

His breath caught.

Dominic noticed.

Of course he did.

His voice dropped, rougher than before.

"You okay?"

Elias didn't answer immediately.

Because the question

It wasn't simple.

Not anymore.

This wasn't just closeness.

This wasn't just tension.

This was the edge of something else.

Something they hadn't crossed yet.

Elias exhaled slowly.

"Yes."

Dominic didn't move his hand.

Didn't pull away.

But he didn't go further either.

Not yet.

"Tell me if you're not," he said quietly.

Elias looked at him.

Really looked at him.

At the way he wasn't rushing.

At the way he was giving him space even while holding him close.

At the way this wasn't about control.

It was about choice.

"I will," Elias said.

Dominic nodded once.

"Good."

A pause.

Then

Elias moved closer.

That was all it took.

Dominic's restraint slipped just slightly.

Not completely.

But enough.

His hand shifted again, more certain this time, and Elias felt the difference immediately.

The air between them changed.

Thicker.

Warmer.

More dangerous.

Elias didn't step back.

Didn't hesitate.

Because he knew

If he did, Dominic would stop.

And he didn't want him to.

Dominic's voice dropped lower.

"You're still not pulling away."

Elias answered quietly,

"I am not intending to."

Dominic let out a soft breath.

"Yeah… I noticed."

His hand moved again, slower now, like he was testing the boundary without crossing it too fast.

Elias felt every second of it.

Every movement.

Every pause.

Every decision.

And for the first time

He wasn't trying to analyze it.

He was feeling it.

Fully.

Without interruption.

Dominic leaned in again, kissing him not soft this time, not careful in the same way as before.

There was weight behind it now.

Something that had been building for hours finally pushing forward.

Elias responded immediately.

Matching him.

Not passively.

Not uncertainly.

But with the same intensity.

Dominic pulled him closer, their bodies pressing together completely now, and Elias didn't resist.

Didn't question it.

Didn't even think.

Because this

This wasn't something he wanted to understand.

It was something he wanted to experience.

When they broke apart again, Dominic didn't let go.

His hand stayed where it was.

His breath uneven now.

"Elias…" he murmured.

Elias looked at him.

"Yes?"

Dominic hesitated.

For the first time in a while

He hesitated.

"This… isn't just going to stop here."

Elias tilted his head slightly.

"That is an obvious projection."

Dominic huffed a quiet laugh.

"You really pick the worst times to be technical."

Elias didn't smile.

Because he understood what Dominic was actually saying.

"This progresses," Dominic added more quietly.

Elias held his gaze.

"Yes."

Dominic searched his face.

"And you're okay with that?"

Elias didn't answer immediately.

Not because he didn't know.

But because this answer mattered more than the others.

He exhaled slowly.

Then

"Yes."

Dominic went still.

"You're sure?"

Elias nodded once.

"Yes."

No hesitation.

No analysis.

Just certainty.

Dominic let out a breath he didn't realize he was holding.

"Okay."

His voice softened.

"Okay."

A pause.

Then

He leaned in again.

But slower this time.

More deliberate.

Like he was making sure

One last time.

Elias met him halfway.

And when they kissed again

It wasn't about testing boundaries anymore.

It wasn't about holding back.

It was about crossing the line they had been standing on all night.

Not recklessly.

Not blindly.

But together.

And this time

Neither of them pretended it was something less than what it was becoming.
