As the room turned even more crimson, jester's frozen mind finally started working. His final answer and conclusion regarding this supernatural phenomenon was—do nothing about it. He simply couldn't figure it out even with his already insane deduction ability.
Then, the small red die finally stopped the growth of it's crimson glow. It then absorbed all the crimson from the room back to itself.
What the hell? Is this some kind of opportunity the bullied main character of a story gets? But I'm clearly not a main character, though?
Jester confusedly asked, then touched the red die out of pure curiosity.
Then, the red die floated and span once in the air. It span for a bit until it rolled the number one.
At the very moment the number appeared, jester's vision gradually turned hazy, and his body felt like it was losing control!
He blacked out, and after an unknown number of time, he finally regained consciousness.
The first thing he immediately felt was a very uncomfortable bed. He immediately shot up straight within a portion of a second, accidentally gaining the "Static Mind" status effect.
He landed in front of the bed, towards a painting. After a few seconds of observing his surroundings, he noticed:
His body was entirely different—his fair white skin suddenly became rougher, his muscles were gone, and his frame was skinnier. The back of his head was also throbbing violently; he immediately made a conclusion that this body was hit by a heavy object in the back of the head, lost consciousness, and finally waking up here but only with a different person possessing it.
The bed he was in had no bottom sheet, is made of wooden planks, and a stained pillow with some liquid that looked like blood.
The room had a long gray wooden table, and a chest of drawers, with a set of shelves under the row of drawers. A locker with nine grids was facing a wooden door, while a small short table with a circular tabletop had a small vase on top, easily knockable.
An eerie window with some white marks on which the marks looked like someone was scratching the window, and a painting right beside the window with a barely recognizable silhouette of a old woman with a wrinkled face holding the hands of a woman with very fair skin. Their faces were unrecognizable – like someone had blocked them so people wouldn't see.
Jester then leaned down and checked what was behind his bed only to find nothing. He slowly stood up, his eyes alert for even the slightest thing moves.
He doesn't know why he suddenly got transported to a different place, nor why he possessed someone else's body, but he definitely knew – This was the thrill he was looking for, the one which was always missing even when doing the most dangerous stunts and performances! A situation where you have absolutely no advantage, no information, and the possible risk of death upon failure!
Jester's mouth curved slightly at the thought of this. But then suddenly—!
Tap. Tap. Tap.
He heard a very faint sound from outside the door, like the sound of footsteps. The sound got fainter and fainter as it went by. The loudest tap was right when it was in front of his door.
Footsteps? So there's someone else here! Is it a ally, or an enemy..?
Jester immediately knew this was the sound of someone walking past the door. However, he doesn't yet know if this person was friend or foe.
He made a decision on the spot, waiting until he couldn't hear the footsteps anymore before slowly walking in front of the door in his room, then opening it!
"Cre-e-ak!" The door made a very faint creaking sound while opening, only enough for the person that opened the door to hear, like the door was giving a invisible warning on what's going to come next.
Tap. Tap. Tap..
Jester slowly walked outside his room. The first thing he noticed was he seemed to be on the upper floor on this house, judging by how there was a staircase leading below, near a heavily armed door.
He immediately knew this heavily armed door was what he needed to unlock to escape and perhaps beat this life-and-death game.
There was four rooms in the floor he was in, one leading above with another staircase, one connecting to the bathroom, and two closed doors.
He walked to the bathroom only to find blood everywhere in the room. He didn't find any objects inside the room full of blood.
He then went to the first closed door, slowly opened it with a faint creaking sound, and walked inside.
The room had a drawer with a set of shelves, a piano, and another passage connecting to the room.
He opened the shelves on the drawer, where he finally found something for the first time—a key.
"Whoosh!" He tucked the key into his pockets, and then walked to the passage connected to the room after finding nothing in the piano.
The passage connected to another room, with a staircase leading downstairs, and a pile of rough boxes with white marks stacked onto the wall, seemingly hiding something.
He slowly put the eerie boxes on the floor to see what was hidden, only to find yet another room behind.
The first thing he saw after going inside was a skeleton laid on the side of the room, holding what seemed to be a bloody note.
Besides the skeleton was crumbs from a melon, perhaps it was eaten by the now-dead skeleton.
Someone?
...A skeleton? Huh?
Jester raised his brows out of surprise. He noticed the skeleton didn't decay in even a small part, seemingly defying science.
He didn't investigate the skeleton further, as he already knew this was nothing more than a dead person. What he was focused on was the note.
"A chance."
"I write this on my last day. The fifth day."
"My body is injured all over."
"I have no chance to escape in this hell."
"I don't know how I got here. I was driving on an unknown forest when i stopped the car due to a tire burst. I then woke up in the bedroom after suddenly going unconscious after stepping out."
"There is an invincible monster in this house. It hunts. I've fallen for it four times. If I fall one more time, I will end up succumbing to my injuries."
"Which is why I give all my gains from the first to the last day I've survived in this hell of a place, as I already have no chance of escaping myself. I only wish for a proper burial after i pass in the afterlife."
"If there is another victim that gets kidnapped, please take this."
"Inside the seemingly inconspicuous leftover melon crumbs is a key. You might think this is useless."
"However, only by exerting all my potential was i able to get this key. The Main Door Key."
"This very key was something I traded my life for."
"Use this to escape – and I don't want you to tell my wife and children about my situation... I only want you to bomb this entire place straight to hell! Kill that monster, and let it know the unyielding will of us humans will never dissipate even after death!"
