Synopsis
There was an idea… If he could save up 1,000,000 dollars by doing part-time and odd jobs before he graduated from college, then he could take it easy in life. He wouldn’t need to tire himself out applying for and working at a job he didn’t like, or he could even retire before he ever found one. In fact, he could quit college before he graduated. Well, it was a foolish idea… Especially when he passed out from sheer exhaustion—from his part-time job at the convenience store last night, from attending his morning classes without sleep, and from skipping lunch just to save up more money. —DING!— [The Save-Up Fantasy System has been granted to you in acknowledgment of your belief and resolve to live up to your foolish idea.] [Initiating in 3… 2… 1…] --- Disclaimer – The image used for the book cover is not mine, nor are the concept designs for the characters.

Chapter 1 - Prologue

There was an idea…

If he could save up 1,000,000 dollars by doing part-time and odd jobs before he graduated from college, then he could take it easy in life. He wouldn't need to tire himself out applying for and working at a job he didn't like, or he could even retire before he ever found one. In fact, he could quit college before he graduated.

Well, it was a foolish idea…

Especially when he passed out from sheer exhaustion—from his part-time job at the convenience store last night, from attending his morning classes without sleep, and from skipping lunch just to save up more money.

—DING!—

The notification sound brought his consciousness back from what felt like a void of emptiness, making him aware of the calming fragrant scent, the relaxing softness beneath his head, the gentle warmth, and the comforting touch, as if someone were patting his head.

[The Save-Up Fantasy System has been granted to you in acknowledgment of your belief and resolve to live up to your foolish idea.]

He could hear a female-like, monotonous voice echoing within his head, but it was nothing compared to the cute and soothing humming he could hear with his ears.

[Initiating in 3… 2… 1…]

And when he opened his eyes as the countdown of the monotonous voice reached zero, it wasn't the mysterious holographic screen flashing at the corner of his vision that made him wonder if he had actually died trying to live up to his foolish idea of saving 1,000,000 dollars;

It was the heart-stunningly sweet, bright smile—brighter than the clear blue sky—that greeted him as soon as he woke up.

"So I really have died… Thank you, dear goddess."

"Umm… aren't you overexaggerating, Lu-el?"
