Chapter 1 - 1

Prologue

When reading novels, comics, or other creative works, there's a common cliché that shows up.

The so-called "lazy genius."

The type with overwhelming talent who finds everything a hassle and doesn't bother putting in effort.

They laze around, seeming utterly indifferent to the world, but when they occasionally reveal their true selves, they crush the situation with sheer overwhelming power.

There are all sorts of reasons why these characters turn lazy, but it's usually because "the world is boring."

They're so strong that everything feels dull, and they lose even the motivation to try.

Games that are too easy just aren't fun from the start. It's the same principle as getting bored fast when you use cheat codes right away.

The only irritating part is that these guys feel that boredom in real life, not just in a game.

But unfortunately, my situation is the complete opposite.

Lazy geniuses slack off because they're too strong already, but I can only get stronger by slacking off.

What the hell does that mean?

[Unique Trait - Sin of Sloth (Myth)]

The more diligently you work, the weaker you become. The lazier you get, the stronger you grow.

Even a veteran like me, who'd seen it all, got tossed into this game world with a ridiculous trait I'd never encountered before.

I slacked off as hard as I could just to survive as an extra at the academy,

"If by any chance you see the world moving in slow motion with your sword too, Jeron!?"

"Wait. Someday, I'll drag out your true feelings, no matter what."

"Um, Junior Jeron...! If it's okay with you, how about some black magic research together after class... ehehehe...?"

And now the real geniuses keep getting the wrong idea on their own and pestering me.
