Fortunately for Tsukuru, as the card he was looking for started with an "A", it was relatively towards the "front" of the binder.
As he flipped the first page over, he saw the card in question in the first spot on the second row of the second page.
It was one of the cards with the brown border.
The card showed a girl with silver hair and dark, tanned skin.
She had an athletic build, just like the hobgoblins, as well as Vorden, had.
Her whole body was covered in black-colored tribal markings that looked like wavy lines.
Her outfit had a very "primitive" look to it, appearing to be made of beast hide and leather, instead of modern-day cloth.
Additionally, the collar of her shirt appeared to be made of the fur of an unknown animal.
The woman had bandages wrapped around her fists and forearms, as well as her calves.
The woman was looking at the viewer in the image with a smirk, her drawn cracking her knuckles.
The card's name was "Amazoness Gladiator".
As with when creating the Haunted Knight and the Harpie, a System message appeared in front of Tsukuru.
[Would you like to use this image as a template for your third Video Summon Race?
[Yes] [No] ]
As Tsukuru thought "yes", the cone of light once again shot out of his eyes.
In his vision, he saw a large square that slowly began filling from the top with the image, like a printer.
As it did, the image in the card appeared as a light-blue, 3-D wireframe.
When it was finished, the figure rotated a few times in the square.
The System's voice rang in his head.
[Scan complete. The System will now use the host's memories and subconscious in conjunction with the scanned image to create the second Video Summon Race. Please give this race a Name.]
As the rectangle with dashes appeared, Tsukuru smirked.
"Amazon." He replied.
Tsukuru watched as the bar filled itself, displaying the word "Amazon", before the System's "confirmation" sound was heard, and a new System screen appeared.
[Registration Complete. The Summon Race Amazon has been added to your Video Summon Arsenal.]
"Open Summon tab." Tsukuru ordered.
Instantly, the screen labeled "Summon Races" opened up in front of him.
As Tsukuru pressed the third square, an new System screen appeared.
[Would you like to create a Amazon? Costs 3 Summon Points.
Summon Points: 2]
Seeing the message, Tsukuru grit his teeth in annoyance.
"These Summon Races just keep getting more and more expensive!" He muttered under his breath.
Tsukuru dismissed the screen with a swipe, and got into bed.
He was too annoyed to do anything else tonight.
"Whatever, I'll just have to wait until I Level Up again!" He muttered, as he rolled over onto his side in the bed.
Meanwhile with Quinn, he was busy watching and rewatching the tutorials videos for his Hammer Strike move.
Due to it appearing to be the more complicated of the two, he had decided that he would focus on it first.
While he was still one-point shy of the required "15" in Strength to use the move, he could use it while wearing either set of his gauntlets.
The video contained the blonde-haired Vampire demonstrating step-by-step the motions of the move.
It was incredibly detailed, showing everything in slow motion, and he even described the feeling the user should have every step of the way.
Quinn repeatedly watched the video, as he wanted to learn the move, and test it out in the game tomorrow.
After he had memorized all of the steps and believed that he had a confident grasp of the move, he finally decided to close his eyes, and go to sleep.
The next morning, Quinn woke up earlier than the other three.
He wanted to immediately go to the VR Room and create his character for Power Fighters to test out his new Skill.
As Quinn passed by Tsukuru's sleeping body, he looked down at him.
Quinn stared at him for a moment.
Then, a slight smirk appeared on his face.
"So you're Level 5 now, huh?" He muttered.
Quinn let out a long sigh.
"Just how did you blow so far ahead past me?" He asked.
Ever since they had arrived, Tsukuru and Quinn had roughly the same amount of fights. Quinn couldn't figure out how Tsukuru had managed to get two whole Levels ahead of him.
Then, a memory flashed through Quinn's head.
It was that stunt that Brandon and Fei had pulled.
When Fei had stabbed Quinn in the gut, causing him to be teleported out of the Beast Weapons Hall with the intention of him being healed in the doctor's office.
Quinn narrowed his eyes, as realization dawned on him.
'While I went to go follow after Fei, Tsukuru stayed in the combat class.' Quinn thought, before looking back down at Tsukuru. 'Even though I defeated both Fei and Loop that day, who knows how many people Tsukuru fought in the Beast Weapon Hall after I left?'
Quinn slapped both of his hands on his cheeks to snap him out of the slight fit of jealousy that was starting to develop.
"It doesn't matter." Quinn replied. "All it means is that I have to work a little harder to catch up!"
Before Quinn left the room, he wrote a note explaining where he was going to be, and taped it to the back of the door, where it could easily be seen.
When Quinn reached the VR Room, he noticed that it was noticeably emptier than yesterday, most likely due to how early in the morning it was.
Since it was Sunday, their last day to rest and relax, most of the students hadn't even woken up yet.
Quinn walked over to the receptionist, and did exactly what he and Vorden had seen Tsukuru do yesterday.
To be honest, Quinn felt the same way about credits that Tsukuru had expressed.
He really had only used credits to buy snacks.
But ever since his evolution into a Halfling, Quinn had found human food to be bland and unappetising.
To him, he only got the same enjoyment a regular person would get from eating sweets by drinking blood.
However, Quinn also made sure to only consume blood when he needed to, or to get stronger.
He was afraid that he might become addicted to the feeling.
And if he did, it would only cause more problems.
As Quinn reached his VR Pod, he looked around for this "box" Tsukuru and Vorden had spoken of last night.
Eventually, he found it.
There was a large, rectangular box on the side of the capsule.
Underneath, it had the words "Beast Gear" written on the capsule.
Quinn reached into his bag, and pulled out the Basic-Tier Black Horned Gauntlets into the box.
Instantly, the box began to "scan" the Beast Gear.
A moment later, a holographic screen was projected.
Like when Vorden had touched the VR Pod in the game store, a feminine, computerized voice was projected.
[Scan complete. Beast Gear can now be used in the capsule.]
Quinn smiled.
He then hopped into the VR Pod, and logged into the game.
Like before, he felt his mind leaving his body, and eventually emerged in the white room of Power Fighters.
The "Menu Screen" popped up in front of him like before.
However, this time, he decided to register an account.
A new screen appeared.
[Please choose a User ID.]
Quinn put his hand under his chin, and began to think.
He didn't want anything that could give away his real identity.
Tsukuru's explanation on why he shouldn't use the Intermediate-Tier Knight Gauntlets in the VR Pod last night had really struck a chord with him.
However, at the same time, Quinn wanted a name that would express his new self.
Something like "Vampire Lord" just wouldn't work, and gave away too much information.
Plus, the idea of putting "Vampire" in his User ID just sent "cringe" tingles running down his spine.
Finally, Quinn snapped his fingers.
The perfect name had come to him.
Instantly, Quinn reached forward, and began to type.
"Blood…Evolver." He replied, typing the name into the screen.
After he finished typing, Quinn hit the "enter" key on the keyboard.
An electronic beep was heard, and a new screen appeared.
[User ID has been accepted. Welcome, User Blood Evolver.]
