Chapter 26 - Something's Off with Han Bing, Two Wishes

After returning from the northwest, Su Qing's days became routine: company, dates, and staying up late.

This lifestyle continued for a week, and then he started going back to school for classes.

Attending class was about the endless pursuit of art; it was definitely not about honing his painting skills so he could use the Creation Brush to draw women. He wasn't some kind of pervert; he was simply pursuing art.

At noon, Su Qing ate lunch in the cafeteria with Xue Ying, An Yufei, Han Bing, and Ning Jing. Zhao Fei and the other two watched the scene from afar, filled with envy and jealousy.

"I'm not envious at all," Xie An said.

Zhao Fei scoffed, "He's forgotten his roommates now that he has women! We lived with him for three years!"

"Exactly, we slept with him for three years too. Which of those four women has slept with him for three years? We were here first," Wang Tai said with a blank expression.

Everyone around them shivered and proactively picked up their trays, moving away from the three of them to avoid catching their "gay vibes."

Su Qing didn't know about his three roommates' resentment; in his eyes, there was only naizi, nothing else.

"Han Bing, are you feeling unwell? You don't look so good," Su Qing asked, looking at Han Bing.

An Yufei also said, "Yes, Bingbing, you haven't seemed focused in the last couple of days."

Xue Ying and Ning Jing looked at Han Bing with concern.

"Ah, I'm fine, just haven't slept well," Han Bing, somewhat distracted, forced a smile.

Su Qing, hearing this, didn't press further.

After the meal, Xue Ying took the initiative to say to Su Qing, "Su Qing, I think something's wrong with Bingbing."

"Duh, I'm not blind, there's a red mark on her neck," Su Qing said calmly.

Xue Ying was shocked: "She's in love too?"

Because after she and Su Qing were in love, her fair neck was covered in red marks.

"What are you thinking? It's obvious she was choked," Su Qing said, rolling his eyes speechlessly.

Xue Ying immediately became anxious: "Why didn't she say anything if she was bullied? She's been out of sorts for the past few days."

"There must be a reason why she didn't say anything. Don't ask, you'll mess things up with good intentions. I'll have someone investigate first," Su Qing told her not to interfere.

Xue Ying looked at him suspiciously: "Han Bing has such long legs, and she's also beautiful. You wouldn't..."

"What are you thinking? Am I that kind of person? I'm not going to bother then," Su Qing was wronged and very angry.

To be precise, he was right, he was anxious, he was anxious.

Xue Ying quickly hugged his arm, acting coquettish as she apologized, "Alright, alright, I'm being too sensitive. You can't ignore Bingbing. Since something happened to her, you have to help her."

"I'm only looking into this because of you. Don't go suspecting my feelings for you later. If that happens, I might as well not get involved," Su Qing said, sounding "unenthusiastic."

Xue Ying nodded repeatedly, "Mmhmm, I promise I won't overthink things, and I won't doubt you."

"You go ahead first. I have some things to handle at the company," Su Qing suddenly said to Xue Ying.

The reason he sent Xue Ying away was because he saw two souls, and two jobs had come knocking at the same time.

Xue Ying didn't think too much of it, waving her small hand in a goodbye, and then returned to the dormitory.

"Come with me, let's talk somewhere else."

Su Qing led the two souls to his car.

"Are you two together?"

Su Qing asked, looking at the two souls, a man and a woman.

"No, I don't know her." The man was a young man wearing a police uniform; he had been a police officer in his life.

The woman said, "I don't know him either."

"Then, Officer, why don't you go first? What unfinished business do you want me to handle?" Su Qing looked at the male police officer.

The young police officer saluted, "My name is Zhou Wei. You can call me A-Wei. I died last May. The cause of death was being discovered while investigating an international organ trafficking case, and then I was shot. I hope you can help me investigate this case, bring all the criminals to justice, and rescue those victims who were abducted, detained, and had their organs harvested. Otherwise, I will not rest in peace!"

"Zhou Wei?" Su Qing was filled with respect because he had seen news about this person's death in the line of duty last year.

This was someone he admired.

But he died last May. For his soul to show up only now... Would people who've been dead for thousands of years come looking for him to fulfill their wishes in the future?

What if Qin Shi Huang came to him to rebuild the Qin Dynasty? Would he accept that wish or not?

Throwing those hypothetical future problems to the back of his mind, Su Qing looked at Zhou Wei: "Brother Zhou, rest assured. I'll take this case. I'll carry on your will to complete what you didn't finish."

"I thank you on behalf of the victims." Zhou Wei saluted again, his upright posture like a spear.

Su Qing returned the salute: "Brother Zhou, I will investigate the case, but I need to arrange my own affairs first. How about you come back to see me in three days?"

"No problem. After all, the clues I was following led overseas, so it can't be solved quickly. You handling your own matters is the right thing to do." Zhou Wei had the demeanor of a soldier. He left immediately after speaking.

Because he was a veteran who transferred to the police force. He first wore a military uniform to defend the borders, and then a police uniform to serve the people.

Compared to him, Su Qing was just a common person.

After Zhou Wei left, Su Qing looked at the woman with the single ponytail, who seemed a bit rough around the edges. "Tell me about your last wishes, but let me be clear, I need to fulfill Zhou Wei's first, then I can help you."

"That's only right. Compared to that Mr. Zhou's wishes, mine are just personal matters," the woman said, understandingly, with a casual air. "I practice martial arts, and they say Xia Country traditional martial arts can't fight. I hope to win the UFC fighting championship using traditional martial arts."

Su Qing was stunned. He'd thought this woman was a bit rough, but he hadn't expected her to be this rough. A girl, and she was still thinking about this even after death.

UFC, the world's most recognized mixed martial arts competition, was brutal. Every match was a bloody mess, with deaths and serious injuries happening.

"So, how exactly did you die?" Su Qing asked curiously.

The woman chuckled awkwardly upon hearing this. "Ahem, I wasn't qualified to participate in the UFC, so I went to fight in underground black boxing. I ended up getting killed in the ring."

Su Qing: "..."

She hadn't learned her lesson even after dying!

After all, the UFC, though a legitimate fighting competition, has seen fatalities in the ring.

"So, you were beaten to death, and you're not afraid I'll be killed too?" Su Qing asked speechlessly.

The woman waved her hand, "Never mind. I thought you were a tough guy. Guess I was wrong."

"Wait a moment. You can say a man isn't handsome enough, but you can't say he's not up to the task. I'll take this job, but I have a request," Su Qing quickly called out when he saw her turning to leave.

How could he let the energy that had been delivered to him slip away?

The woman stopped, "What's the request?"

"Let me touch your body to test it," Su Qing said.

The woman's eyes widened immediately, "You're a real beast! I'm already dead, and you still won't let my soul go?"

"What are you thinking? I'm just curious if I can touch a person's soul," Su Qing explained.

A soul has no physical form. Ordinary people can't see them, so naturally, they can't touch them either.

But he could see them. Could he also touch them?

Now was a good time to do an experiment.

The woman sighed in relief, "That's good. I thought you were going to take advantage of me. Fine, go ahead."

"Am I that kind of person?" Su Qing was speechless.

A moment later, the woman confirmed one thing.

This was really a beast!
