Chapter 67 - Chapter 67: Day 1, Cleaning the Administration Building!

Shawn asked Rick for a 'remington'.

That's right, those were the weapons brought from Atlanta.

The remington M870, reliable, durable, and with a long history!

It's a famous Shotgun in America, known as the AK47 of Shotguns.

The one that fell into Shawn's hands was a derivative series of the remington M870.

The remington M870p, the 'p' stands for Police, meaning it's the police version.

It looks roughly like this.

Its 7+1 round capacity is almost the top configuration for this series.

As soon as Shawn got his hands on it, he couldn't put it down.

He used to think a true man should confront Walkers head-on, but now Shawn felt that a true man must dare to face all living things.

And the Shotgun, is the legendary equalizer of all living things.

More living than all living things, more equal than equality.

Even Walkers, who lack humanity, have to submit to its 'truth'.

Because of the sudden apocalypse mission, Shawn still felt this was a safer approach.

With the Shotgun slung across his back and the Lv5 Stone Hammer on his shoulder.

Shawn felt incredibly strong at this moment!

"Let's go!"

Shawn let out a low roar.

Behind him, those who had donned combat suits and were holding various firearms and cold weapons immediately looked serious and followed closely behind Shawn.

The clattering of armor made a rustling sound, sounding like an entire army was on the move.

"Shawn, I want to go too..."

Just as Shawn reached the barbed wire gate, Carl's pitiful voice came.

He appeared from nowhere, crossing Lori's defensive line in one leap, hugging Shawn's leg, and shaking it back and forth.

"Carl, your parents treat you like a child, but I won't."

"Have you forgotten how I taught you before?"

Shawn said coldly, glancing at the small figure almost hanging from his leg.

Carl looked a bit wronged but had to repeat:

"Don't disobey the team's decisions and act on your own; it will cost the team more."

Although a bit rough, that was essentially the point.

Seeing little Carl's disappointed look, Shawn finally decided to coax him.

Shawn took the keys to the chains from Glenn and handed them to little Carl.

"Alright, since you insist, I'll give you an extremely difficult task."

Shawn deliberately lowered his voice, and Carl immediately perked up.

He suddenly lifted his small head, his eyes shining as he looked at Shawn, as if Shawn was glowing in his eyes.

"Now, the core members of the team will go in to clear out the Walkers, laying the foundation for a better future for the team."

"And what you need to do is to guard our only key to enter and exit the Prison."

"Then, at the right time, open the door to the path of life for us!"

"Can you do it?"

"Yes!!" Carl's face was solemn, as if he had received a monumental order.

Under everyone's gaze, Carl pulled open the gate with all his might.

The moment he stepped into the Prison, Shawn silently recited:

"Accept mission."

The giant exclamation mark hovering above the Prison instantly vanished, and the entire Prison seemed to subtly change.

After Shawn led everyone in, Merle came up to him with a mischievous grin and whispered,

"Shawn, is it appropriate to deceive a child like this?"

"What's inappropriate about it?" Shawn glanced at him: "I promised Lori I wouldn't let Carl get hurt, and a man must keep his word."

Rick was right beside Shawn, and upon hearing Shawn and Merle's conversation, he said nothing but nodded inwardly.

If Rick, who could lead the Camp, had to choose a leader for himself, Shawn would absolutely be the first, without a doubt.

Everyone had seen the changes Shawn brought to the Camp after his appearance.

After everyone had advanced a few steps, not yet fully entering the Prison, several familiar Fully Armed figures suddenly emerged from behind.

They had seen many Walkers with flesh and skin, but Fully Armed ones were a first.

"Glenn." Shawn called out, then charged forward in a single bound.

There was no need to target the weak points in their helmet seams, nor was it necessary.

Shawn grabbed a Walker by the collar of its bulletproof vest with one hand, lifted it completely, and then slammed it heavily to the ground.

He stepped on its helmet and twisted it forcefully to the side.

Crack--

A small crisp sound came, and the Walker lost its ability to move.

Immediately after, Shawn struck another one with a backhand hammer.

Its flesh was pressed tightly against the helmet, which suddenly spun twice, and the second one also fell motionless.

Agile, quick, and decisive—that was Shawn.

"Keep the armor; we can clean it up and use it later."

Shawn instructed, then looked up again; Glenn had already pulled the metal mesh gate shut from the back and locked it.

Inside, at least a hundred Walkers were swaying, but by the time they noticed Glenn, it was already too late.

Standing still, Shawn looked to his left, then to his right.

In the original plot, the entire area of the Prison was not described in too much detail.

Only parts of the area were introduced simply based on plot needs.

However, Shawn roughly observed that the building on the left had 3 floors and was not covered by barbed wire.

The right side, however, was a tall, flat building completely covered in rough concrete, appearing much darker.

Not only did all entrances and exits have locked metal doors, but it was also almost completely separated from the left building.

Only on the second floor.

There was a square'sky corridor' covered with metal mesh, connecting the two buildings.

"It seems the building on the left is the Administrative Building of the Prison, where the Prison clerks, guards, and the Prison Warden usually stay."

"It's daytime now, the weather is good, and there's plenty of light."

"Attacking the Administrative Building first might be a good option."

Shawn pondered for a few seconds, then decisively walked towards the 4-story building on the left.

As he walked, Shawn spoke to those following behind him:

"I'll be in front later; you need to maintain a 5-meter distance from me."

"The Administrative Building in front isn't too large; our goal today is to completely clear the building, leaving no Walker behind!"

"Always pay attention to your feet, overhead, and all semi-open doors around you."

"Walkers could be there at any moment, mouths agape, waiting for you delicious meals to deliver yourselves."

At this point, Shawn also reached the main entrance of the Administrative Building.

He stopped on the steps, turned around, and looked at everyone.

"Today, I brought all of you in, and I will bring all of you out."

"So remember, 5-meter distance!"

As his voice fell, Shawn turned and kicked open the Administrative Building's main door, striding inside.

The entire Administrative Building, without electricity, looked somewhat dim even in daylight.

Tables and chairs lay scattered on the ground, files and copy paper strewn everywhere... Shawn lowered his head, his feet treading on a thick layer of dust, and a dull, gloomy smell wafted to his nose.

"Good place, but it's a waste to let Walkers live here."

Shawn sniffed, detecting a faint, putrid smell covered by dust.

It was the smell of human corpses, an extreme stench unbearable to ordinary people, lingering persistently.

This was a prohibition etched deep into the genes, and also an instinct.

So, the moment Shawn stepped in, he sensed something was wrong.
