Chapter 68 - Chapter 68 Cleaning in progress!

Shawn slowly squatted down.

He held a translucent glass wine bottle in his hand, then gently pushed it forward.

Clink, clank—

The sound was crisp and clear, reverberating continuously in the empty Administrative Building.

Walkers can smell blood; they are attracted by noise.

As the wine bottle rolled from Shawn's feet all the way to the end of his vision, the sound gradually faded.

More than a dozen decaying figures staggered out simultaneously from behind the office doors on both sides.

"I drank quite a bit last night, so let me have some fun this morning and stretch my muscles and bones."

Seeing the Walkers approaching them,

Shawn leisurely stretched, skillfully twirled the Stone Hammer in his hand, and actively walked towards the Walkers.

At this moment,

the light pouring in from the Administrative Building's main entrance behind him shone on Shawn's perfectly built body, exuding a powerful sense of oppression.

This almost made everyone who came to clear the Walkers suddenly have an illusion.

"It's definitely not these dozen Walkers surrounding Shawn, but Shawn alone surrounding all the Walkers!"

And seeing the Walkers getting closer, Shawn became even more excited.

"How strong can Lv10 Strength really be?"

"Fighting those wimps yesterday wasn't satisfying enough. Today, I'll use you all to test my Stone Hammer."

Shawn gripped the Stone Hammer tightly with one hand, holding it level at his side.

He looked at the three Walkers that were already close without changing his expression, merely sweeping the Stone Hammer horizontally.

Whoosh—!

Accompanied by the gush of blood, it seemed as if the entire dim hallway had changed color; everything happened in an instant.

Three hairless heads flew into the sky, briefly suspended in the air.

Shawn's seemingly casual swing had actually broken the cervical spines of these three Walkers directly.

The force was so great that it could even change the trajectory of the flying heads out of thin air.

Shawn raised his head, his eyebrows level with his eyes.

Accustomed to slaughter, he had never felt more relaxed than he did now.

Killing three Walkers, Shawn felt as if he had casually crushed three ants.

They bared their fangs and brandished their claws, pressing closer with every step.

But in the face of absolute power, they were utterly useless.

"Even a vast army can have its commander captured!"

Shawn gradually became excited.

He secretly sighed that the system's evaluation at the time was fair; this power was definitely worthy of the 'King' evaluation.

What flowed in his veins seemed not to be blood, but scorching, hot magma.

Shawn's body was being activated by the blood; although he just stood still, he was like a furnace emitting immense heat.

"Beasts are just beasts!"

Seeing the Walkers still relentlessly approaching, Shawn cursed.

He slowly advanced, his steps growing faster and faster!

Every Walker he passed by was sure to have blood splattering from some part of its body, its limbs torn apart!

The dozen Walkers could not stop Shawn's advance at all; Shawn walked all the way to the end of the corridor.

Only then did the last Walker behind him fall to the ground with a 'thud,' motionless.

Hearing the sound, Shawn's imposing aura receded, and he turned around with the Stone Hammer on his shoulder, his voice leisurely saying,

"Finish them off. I want to see at least two knife holes in the head of every Walker."

"I don't want to see any corpses with intact heads get back up."

It was only when the echo of his voice faded in the hallway that everyone awoke as if from a dream.

They put down their firearms, drew their cold weapons, and finished off the bodies strewn across the floor.

"Pile all the finished-off bodies together and avoid walking past them."

"Once all the Walkers in the entire building have been cleared, then we can move their bodies."

Shawn reminded them step by step; everyone had no extra conversations or actions, only acting according to Shawn's commands.

The bodies of a dozen Walkers piled up into a small mountain in the office.

T-boy pulled the office door shut with a 'whoosh,' leaving the hallway empty.

Watching everyone's actions, Shawn nodded to himself.

They are teachable!

Being foolish doesn't matter, being weak doesn't matter.

What matters most is being foolish without knowing it, weak without striving for strength, and mistaken without self-reflection.

"Continue," Shawn said in a deep voice.

Entering the Administrative Building, there was a long corridor ahead, leading to a 'T' intersection at its end.

To the left was the staircase leading up one floor, a total of eighteen steps in a turn.

To the right, two steps led to a sturdy metal door.

This was the usual gathering place for prison guards, with areas like the briefiing room, kitchen, and guard-level cafeteria.

"We don't need to rush upstairs. Let's lure them out here first and clear them out gradually," Rick suggested, walking over to Shawn.

Daryl shone his flashlight far down the metal door of the cafeteria and peered inside.

"I only saw three or four. Maybe when everything happened, they weren't at mealtime."

"That's good news."

Shawn nodded, signaling everyone to follow Rick's suggestion and stand on both sides of the stair railing.

They raised their firearms, pre-aiming at the direction of the stairs.

After everyone nodded slightly, Shawn heavily struck the hollow metal handrail a few times with his Stone Hammer.

Clang, clang—

The sound was crisp, and the vibration gradually transmitted from the first-floor handrail, all the way up to the third floor.

After a brief reverberation, silence fell.

Shawn listened with his ear cocked, because immediately replacing it was the low growl of Walkers.

Their low growls gradually began to echo through the building, and the sound of their footsteps quickly became clear.

The footsteps, initially one or two, gradually began to overlap, finally converging into a considerable torrent of sound.

"Stand to the side of the stairs!"

Shawn loudly instructed, while he himself stood alone in the exact center facing the stairs.

They had no brains, so they would rush straight for Shawn the moment they charged down the stairs.

Shawn put away his Stone Hammer and pulled out remington from behind his back.

Unlike others who braced the stock against their shoulder, with their cheek pressed against the gun body,

he spread his legs apart and simply rested the Shotgun against his chest.

A Lv1 Shotgun was difficult to aim precisely, Shawn only needed to maintain fire output, cooperating with the others was enough.

Thump, thump, thump—!

The sound of footsteps began to become dense.

Just 3 seconds after everyone was ready, with a hoarse roar, a Walker directly tumbled down the stairs.

And behind it, at least dozens of figures were jogging and surging madly.

They leaped down the stairs in two or three steps, piling and crashing into each other, heading towards Shawn's position.

Bang—!!

The first gunshot rang out, and the muzzle of the Shotgun Shawn held spat out fragmented fire.

From then on, the gunshots were uncontrollable!

The dense gunshots quickly completely covered the sound of the surging Walkers.

Firelight spread with gunpowder smoke, and blood formed a river on the steps, flowing down in a semi-viscous manner.

The first row of Walkers stumbled and fell to the ground.

Shawn held the remington with one hand, completely unfazed. He quickly pulled the forend, and hot shell casings flew out from the side barrel.

While continuously pulling the trigger, Shawn steadily walked forward.

Poor marksmanship? No problem.

It's already been said that this is the 'Equalizer of All Beings'; as long as Shawn is close enough, he will definitely hit the Walker's head.

Until all 8 rounds of ammunition were depleted, the gunshots from the others also stopped in time, entering reload time.

All at once, the 'click, click, click' of reloading sounded in unison.
