Chapter 9 - Great Sage!

A/N:

Sorry for releasing only one chapter yesterday. For the first time, I tried playing Pokémon FireRed and completely lost track of time.

***

When people think of jujutsu sorcerers, they imagine cool, powerful figures—individuals who fight curses with overwhelming strength. People envy them, admire them, and sometimes even wish they could live in that world themselves.

As a Jujutsu Kaisen fan, haven't you wished the same at least once?

To be born with a powerful Cursed Technique.

To possess massive reserves of Cursed Energy.

Many fantasize about being isekai'd into that world or imagine fanfics where they stand at the top of the jujutsu hierarchy.

But have you ever stopped to think about something?

Even strong sorcerers die.

Even the Honored One died.

Why?

Because power alone is not everything.

Being born with high Cursed Energy and a strong technique is already a miracle. Even among those capable of seeing curses, people blessed with both are extremely rare.

Yet despite this, many never enter the world of jujutsu.

Some lack the courage to fight.

Others cannot overcome the sheer disgust of curses.

That is why countless individuals with enormous potential never step onto the battlefield.

To fight curses, one needs more than talent. Courage, discipline, a steady mind, and years of relentless practice are required just to survive real combat.

Maintaining Cursed Energy control while defending against cursed attacks is no simple task. A single lapse can mean death. Sorcerers must train endlessly to ensure they do not exhaust their reserves mid-fight.

Becoming battle-ready is not something achieved overnight.

Don't just look at how effortlessly Gojo uses Infinity. Don't just admire how impenetrable his defense appears. Look at the dedication he has shown to the world of jujutsu.

Born into the prestigious Gojo clan, Gojo Satoru possessed everything—wealth, influence, and power. If he wanted, he could have lived comfortably as the clan head, protected by Infinity and the Six Eyes.

He could have become another Zenin Naoya.

But he didn't.

With the Six Eyes granting unparalleled control over Cursed Energy, he mastered one of the most complex techniques in existence. Refining it to near perfection, he eventually achieved passive Infinity—maintaining it continuously with almost zero energy loss.

Blessed with everything, yet still working relentlessly to reach the title of the strongest.

What Gojo Satoru achieved over years…

Could anyone else accomplish it in mere months?

It was considered impossible.

But Gojo Satoru himself thought otherwise as he looked toward the building Amakawa Haruto had just entered.

Received.

It is possible to link Curse Generator with Great Sage via Parallel Operation.

Do you wish to link them?

Yes

No

'I should've done this sooner,' Haruto thought as he selected Yes.

Linked successfully.

Synchronizing extra skill Curse Generator with unique skill Great Sage… Successful.

All functions will now be managed by Great Sage.

"Subarashi," Haruto muttered with a wide grin as he slid his sword back into the hilt at his side.

He had been in this world for a while now, so linking the skills earlier would have made sense. Still, he had deliberately held back.

'I wanted to check my innate talent first.'

He wanted to know how much Cursed Energy he could draw out on his own—without relying on Great Sage.

'But I guess I'm not super talented by myself,' he thought to himself.

Judging himself after only a few days wasn't fair, but time wasn't on his side.

'Can you bring out my Cursed Energy, Sage?'

Affirmative.

The moment Great Sage responded, a cold, eerie sensation washed over his body.

Something vast stirred within him.

Something dangerous.

Like a dam bursting, energy surged through his chest, shoulders, arms, and into his hands.

Fwaa.

Blue energy tinged with black flared around his hands like flames.

"…Fucking amazing."

Clenching his fists, Haruto punched the air and leapt forward.

Fooh.

The air rattled with every strike.

"So this is Cursed Energy!" he laughed, remembering how difficult it had been to invoke this feeling on his own before having his body memorise this sensation.

Confirmed.

Extra skill Curse Reinforcement successfully acquired.

'Nice. Does the Voice of the World exist here too?'

Those familiar with That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime knew that Great Sage itself did not grant skills.

That role belonged to the Voice of the World.

Conditions were met.

Great Sage analyzed them.

A request was made.

Approval was granted.

And that's how skills are acquired by the individual where great sage only makes the acquisition of the skill easier.

Taking a deep breath, Haruto closed his eyes.

'Sage, radiate a thin layer of Cursed Energy in all directions—cover the building. The thinnest layer possible.'

'Perceive the particles of Cursed Energy. Observe how they disturb nearby matter and reconstruct the environment.'

A faint spherical wave expanded outward from his body.

Confirmed.

Extra skill Curse Sense successfully acquired.

Activate Curse Sense?

Yes

No

"Yes."

Information flooded his brain—far more than any human mind could handle. Light, sound, and energy were converted into raw data.

He could "see" everything.

Shadows of walls themselves, empty corridors filled with darkness. The curse hiding one floor above him... He could see them all!

The strain from the data nearly crushed him.

Synchronizing extra skill Curse Sense with unique skill Great Sage… Successful.

The pressure vanished.

Opening his eyes, Haruto felt as if he were receiving two visual feeds at once—one dull, one impossibly clear.

"Amazing…" his own vision feels dull compared to the one great sage provides.

3 curses detected in vicinity.

1 Grade 4.

2 Grade 3.

"Okay let's do this.." forgetting his awe, feral excitement covered his heart. Blue Cursed Energy erupted around him as his complete body was now reinforced with energy.

Crack.

The ground shattered beneath his feet as he launched forward.

"Hah—!"

He tore through the corridor as he felt the wind resistance all over his body, jumping upwards smashing through the ceiling.

The Grade 4 curse didn't even have time to react as Haruto's reinforced hands grabbed it from behind, and both crashed onto the rooftop.

Splash.

"EAAA!"

A shrill scream escaped the curse before Haruto tore it apart, purple blood spraying across his body.

"Hahaha."

"That kid's going crazy up there."

Outside the building, the students suddenly heard Gojo laugh as they follow his like of sight looking upwards.

Crack.

The glass shattered.

A massive Grade 3 curse burst from the building, plummeting toward them—only to explode midair, raining down the purple blood as a streak of blue followed.

Boom.

Shockwave erupted launching the students backwards.

"Now this is what I call talent."

Gojo pulled down his blindfold, Six Eyes locking onto the curse coated fist frozen inches from his face.

"…This is going to be so much fun."
