There were two guards stationed before the enormous frozen-blue doors. They straightened once Lancet and Opaline approached.
Lancet almost looked through them as he admired the gigantic ice doors. They had silver ornaments covering their surface from top to bottom, and curling into intricate patterns of snowflakes, frost flowers, and long, interlocking blades.
At the centre of each door, two silver wolves faced opposite directions, their bodies carved with such detail that even the individual strands of fur were visible.
The doors were beautiful, but what caught Lancet's attention was their sheer size. He could have driven a carriage through the entrance without either of the doors needing to open fully.
Finally, he looked away from them while Opaline still stared, and he regarded the guards.
