King Odesto?
Lancet stared at the map as his mind travelled far.
The last time he had seen Antarticon's Sovereign, it had been inside the Kingdom Council Hall. Spectra has been there too.
At the time, nothing about Odesto had seemed particularly strange. If anything, he had been the quietest among them.
Had Odesto known then?
Lancet's fingers tightened around the edge of the table as the memories returned. Had the king already known what Sacramenta was? Even back then?
Had he already been planning this? Had the necklace already been on his mind when he sat in that council chamber, surrounded by the most powerful rulers in the world? Or had something happened since? Something that made him realize what Sacramenta was—what it contained—and decide he had to have it?
Did he know? Did he—
Shit.
He had to know.
There was no other explanation that sat right with him. The money, all the privacy and the fact that it was King Odesto meant that he knew the true worth of Sacramenta.
