He froze.
Completely, his hands stopped moving on the screen.
Slowly, his gaze lifted from the phone to my face, his dark eyes locking onto mine, emitting something dangerous.
"You should be careful of what you offer, Pony," he warned.
My heart skipped, my fingers tightening around my dress as I swallowed hard.
"Why?" I asked, tilting my head slightly away from him. "Afraid you might like it?" My tone was daring, but my eyes betrayed me.
Still, I wasn't going to give up so easily.
I picked up a piece of steak and took a bite, making sure it brushed against my lips. I slowly licked off the grease, my eyes fixed on his.
And I loved what I saw.
The hunger in them.
"Your turn," I said.
I took the fork again, stabbed another piece of steak, and slowly brought it to my lips—half inside my mouth, the other half hanging out.
The grease slid down from my lips, and I watched his eyes follow its trail.
In the next instant, his hand wrapped around my neck as he drew me closer.
