Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: God’s Cross-Dimensional Slap

Chapter 4: God's Cross-Dimensional Slap

After grabbing a quick fast-food meal, Mo Yu returned home. The computer continued to display every change in the Bleach world. Ichigo Kurosaki had repeated his morning routine: washing up, bickering with his idiot father, eating a quiet breakfast, watching the news about the mysterious explosions in Karakura Town, and heading out to encounter the same group of thugs messing with the ghostly little girl's offerings.

"You bastards! Show some respect for the offerings of the dead!"

Even though it was the second time, Ichigo still stepped in to teach the thugs a lesson, though his expression was heavy.

His father's reactions were the same every day, but the appearance of these thugs proved that the time reversal was real. This made Ichigo increasingly uneasy about Mo Yu's "spoilers," and countless thoughts raced through his mind.

The reason a protagonist is a protagonist isn't just because of their "cheat" powers; it's because, at critical moments, they always choose to step forward.

This is a protagonist's fate, but it is also what makes them likable.

Ichigo was exactly this kind of person. While teaching the thugs a lesson, he wasn't fully focused. He kept replaying Mo Yu's words, wondering what he would do when the crisis truly arrived.

The wheel of fate was set to turn today. The monsters called Hollows and the Soul Reaper girl would both come knocking. Knowing everything in advance made Ichigo anxious, but deep down, there was a hidden flicker of excitement.

This excitement stemmed from his childhood memories. When he was nine, his mother died in an "accident" that was influenced by supernatural factors. Later, while visiting her grave, he encountered a monster wearing his mother's face. Just as it was about to eat him, his mother's soul appeared to protect him.

Ichigo didn't remember those events clearly; he had fainted from his injuries, leaving only blurred fragments. After waking up, those ambiguous memories were dismissed as childhood delusions.

But Mo Yu's spoilers gave him a different perspective. Perhaps what happened back then wasn't a delusion. Perhaps he could find the truth. Standing silently for a long time, Ichigo eventually whispered, "Mom..."

At that moment, the holy voice from beyond the heavens echoed in his ear:

"Looking at your face, you seem to be thinking of your mother. Ah, indeed. Your mother's death and her sacrifice to protect you are very important plot points. They've had a profound impact on your life. However, as an observer, I have a piece of advice: without sufficient power, you'd better not dig too deep. In fact, it's better not to even think about it. The water behind that incident is much deeper than you imagine."

"What did you say!?" Startled by the sudden voice and the bombshell information, Ichigo shouted at the sky. The little girl ghost was terrified, wondering what was wrong with the kind older brother, but Ichigo didn't care. He asked urgently:

"What exactly do you mean by that!? Was there another secret behind what happened back then?"

Outside the screen, Mo Yu smiled slightly. This was why he wasn't in a hurry. As a viewer from the material world who knew the intricate details of Bleach, manipulating the currently naive Ichigo through information asymmetry was incredibly easy.

"There's a lot you don't know. But I'm not one to keep people in suspense. To be blunt: your mother's sacrifice is the starting point for many future events. For example, a certain mastermind—a man with Level 99 'coolness,' a talent for trash talk, and a hand always slicked back with hair gel—spotted your potential back then. In his boredom, he unilaterally claimed you as his 'son' and expects you to grow into his most perfect masterpiece!"

Mo Yu was referring to Sosuke Aizen, one of the top antagonists in anime history, who had sensed Ichigo's potential during that event and made numerous arrangements. These details were complex, so Mo Yu didn't explain them fully, but his mocking tone was enough to leave Ichigo in a stunned silence.

Ichigo wasn't a genius, but he wasn't stupid. Ignoring the part about a trash-talking mastermind claiming to be his father, he understood there were hidden meanings behind Mo Yu's words. He gritted his teeth and asked:

"Observer, if you know everything, then tell me that man's name and what really happened back then!"

Mo Yu chuckled. "That trash-talking mastermind can level mountains with a single swing of his blade. A mere gaze from him is enough to shatter a mortal's soul. He is one of the few 'Transcendental' powerhouses in this world. What use is his name to you? If he doesn't want you to, you won't even be able to get near him. By the way, your mother's death is related to him, but he isn't the primary cause. That honor belongs to another mastermind who only appears in the final arc—one with the authority of 'Omnipotence and Omniscience.' So, don't blame me for being cryptic. With your current strength, what can you do with this information besides sit in a corner and curse them?"

This was the "protagonist treatment." Even his mother's death was tied to the core plot of the world. Ichigo was essentially a human chessboard where masterminds played their games. Even if Mo Yu spoiled it all, Ichigo wouldn't be able to understand it, and even if he did, he was currently powerless.

Ichigo fell silent, trying to process it all. Still young and lacking the composure he would gain from future battles, a somber fire began to burn in his eyes. After a long pause, he asked quietly:

"Observer, if I agree to film your Strongest Academy Security Guard thing... will you give me the power to face those masterminds?"

Outside the screen, Mo Yu saw Ichigo wavering. He didn't celebrate, but simply shook his head. "No, I won't directly grant you power, because your destiny has already reserved formidable strength for you. I will only provide assistance in other areas. However, if you can complete the trials I give you, I might discard my identity as an observer and descend into the mortal realm in my true form. At that time, I might be able to grant all your wishes."

While the Divine Authority didn't work well in the material world, it was still full of potential within the Silver Sea. Granting Ichigo's wishes wasn't an empty boast, but that was a matter for the future.

Hearing the promise, Ichigo's heart skipped a beat, but he shook his head and suppressed the urge. He stopped talking to Mo Yu and turned to head to school, ready to face his destiny. The little girl ghost waved to him with an innocent smile and faded away.

Mo Yu watched Ichigo's retreating back with a playful look in his eyes because he noticed something interesting.

In the original plot, shortly after Ichigo teaches the thugs a lesson, he is attacked by a monster and flees with the little girl's soul. At the critical moment, the Soul Reaper girl, Rukia Kuchiki, descends from the sky to save them.

That scene was very tight, playing out in just a few minutes of screen time to hook the audience. But right now, the development was different. Ichigo had already parted ways with the girl and had been walking for ten minutes, yet the plot hadn't triggered.

"Hmm. Even though the World Bubbles in the Silver Sea originate from real-world anime, the plot development doesn't necessarily match the original work perfectly. It's likely related to the blurred memories of the audience."

Mo Yu thought about it. The "Omniscience" within his Divine Status allowed him to reach conclusions very close to the truth even without full data.

The Bleach World Bubble was condensed from the collective fantasies and memories of viewers in the material world. But human memory is fallible; it automatically filters out or misinterprets details. This created subtle differences between the World Bubble and the source material.

There are a thousand Hamlets in a thousand people's eyes. When those perceptions merge in the Silver Sea, the resulting Hamlet might look like the original but will inevitably deviate in behavior.

Mo Yu was actually quite happy about this. Although his knowledge of the original plot had depreciated slightly in value, knowing about these "traps" in advance was a win.

The morning weather was clear. The 2D cityscapes of Japan in anime were different from reality—clean and beautiful. Walking down such a street should have been pleasant, but Ichigo felt as if invisible storm clouds were covering the city. The suffocating pressure of an approaching storm made even his footsteps feel weak.

As Ichigo felt confused and lost, Mo Yu's whisper reached him:

"The powerful combat instincts hidden beneath your intellect have sensed the enemy's approach. What you're feeling is a phenomenon called Reiatsu (Spiritual Pressure). You can think of it as an aura, but one that can interfere with matter and reality. Reiatsu is divided into twenty ranks. What you're feeling right now shouldn't exceed Rank 15."

(According to the setting, the smaller the number, the stronger the pressure. Below Rank 6 are nameless "small fry." Ranks 4 and 5 are "Elite" level, capable of being Lieutenants in the Gotei 13. Rank 3 and above are the powerhouses whose souls are so dense they can't even truly dissipate after death, destined for Hell. Rank 1 represents the peak of the world, like Captain-Commander Genryusai Shigekuni Yamamoto.)

Mo Yu didn't explain everything to Ichigo, but this information was enough to make the boy's face turn solemn. He instinctively looked for a weapon. Soon, he heard the booming sound of a wall collapsing in the distance, followed by an indescribable pressure.

Sinister, greedy, and terrifying—like a dark abyss opening its mouth to swallow everything.

In a way, having instincts that are too sharp isn't always a good thing. Pedestrians on the street just looked around curiously at the noise, but Ichigo, sensing the true essence of that pressure, began to tremble. Cold sweat poured down his face, and driven by instinct, he turned and began to run.

People on the street looked at the sprinting Ichigo in confusion, but as the booming sounds continued closer, they soon joined the stampede.

Ichigo glanced back. Despite knowing his fate, he couldn't help but yell: "What is that thing!?"

It was over five meters tall, looking like a cross between a scorpion and a centipede, but with arms like a praying mantis—sharp, metallic talons. Its head was a somber white mask, half-human, half-beast. It ran like a heavy tank, smashing through buildings and leaving craters in the concrete with every step.

One look was enough to tell: this was not a monster a human could fight.

Mo Yu watched this with surprise. In the original anime, the first Hollow to appear was quite simple—a mere "trash" mob. But the one on his screen was exquisitely detailed and radiated a formidable "Elite Boss" aura. More importantly, as Mo Yu gazed at it, his "Omniscience" provided deeper insight.

Hollows are evil spirits born from the corruption of souls. Mo Yu was witnessing the evolutionary process.

Under a certain trigger, a soul undergoes a chaotic mutation. Its foundation dissolves, shifting from solid to liquid. This isn't destruction, but a form of "ascension." Reishi (Spirit Particles) unique to the Bleach world are injected into the soul, merging with the changing body to create a high-energy materialization.

This was why a frail soul that couldn't touch reality could suddenly become a monster capable of physical slaughter once it turned into a Hollow.

Mo Yu noticed something unnatural about this mechanism. It wasn't just "corruption"; it was a directed, supernatural evolution—like the difference between a wandering ghost and a divine official.

Mo Yu deepened his observation. His pupils flickered with a faint holy light. Through his Divine Authority, he glimpsed an ancient, chaotic silhouette...

He quickly understood. The Eternal Progenitor Hollow, though suppressed by the Soul King before its birth, had its existence etched into the underlying architecture of the world. The transformation into a Hollow was essentially the soul falling under that influence and being pulled toward becoming "Him."

In fact, every soul in the Bleach world had the potential to become that Eternal Hollow. However, that potential could only be approached, never reached, because the Progenitor and the opportunity for its descent had been cut off by the Soul King eons ago. As long as the Soul King existed, the Eternal Hollow could never truly descend.

"Hmm. This Eternal Progenitor Hollow wasn't described in the original story, but since it exists in this World Bubble, there seems to be some room to maneuver."

Mo Yu's author brain started whirring, but he didn't dwell on it. Ichigo's situation was more pressing.

Ichigo bit his lip as he ran, feeling the utter helplessness of an ordinary human. He only kept going through his protagonist's grit, but eventually, he couldn't take it anymore and shouted:

"Observer, give me a hand!"

"Aha, as expected..." Mo Yu had seen this coming. In the original plot, Rukia would have appeared by now, but the girl was nowhere to be found. He couldn't just let Ichigo die.

Mo Yu gripped his mouse.

Saving someone at the last second looks cool, but the timing is difficult. A few seconds late and things go south. Plus, Mo Yu wanted to see how his restricted Divine Power fared against a supernatural monster.

As Mo Yu focused his will, the cursor on the screen grew slightly and transformed into a pixelated hand. He swung the mouse violently:

"Take my Divine Palm!"

The Hollow, chasing Ichigo with predatory ferocity, suddenly sensed an invisible wind. Before it could react, it felt a massive slap across its face. The force was so great its neck snapped to the side, and it stumbled, tripping over its own feet.

It seemed effective, but Mo Yu pursed his lips. He realized the slap was more insulting than damaging. This wasn't just because his authority was nerfed; it was because the Hollow possessed a defense called Hierro (Steel Skin). While this layer of Reishi wasn't as strong as the high-level Hollows later in the series, it still significantly reduced the damage.

Mo Yu recalled a quote from the villain Aizen: "Battles between Soul Reapers are ultimately battles of Reiatsu." Someone with lower Reiatsu might not even be able to break the opponent's skin.

Mo Yu lacked "Reiatsu" or any local power source. Fighting a native supernatural monster on its home turf was proving to be inefficient.

He suppressed these thoughts and swiped his mouse again, giving the Hollow another slap—following the holy word that if God strikes your left cheek, he'll strike your right one too. Then, he began sliding his mouse back and forth rapidly.

Low damage? Fine. As long as there is damage. If the frequency is high enough and the duration long enough, even a spoon can kill. God's cross-dimensional slap wasn't so pathetic that it couldn't kill a bug!

The Hollow was now completely bewildered. It swung its mantis-claws wildly, shredding nearby buildings, but it couldn't find its attacker. It just felt slap after slap flying at its face, its head rocking side-to-side in a rhythmic DJ-like beat.

Ichigo noticed this and breathed a sigh of relief, knowing the mysterious observer was helping him. But Mo Yu was frowning more and more.

Time had passed, and Mo Yu had used his "Divine Palm" to play a full techno song on the Hollow's face. He had even cracked the monster's skull. It would be dead soon, yet the female lead, Rukia, still hadn't appeared. Where on earth was she slacking off?
