Chapter 286 - Chapter 85: Black swan Above the High Tower

The neatly arrayed silver-armored sprites suddenly scattered!

They were like a swarm of extremely tiny meteors, each one finding a bizarre angle to smash into Anubis's massive body; they shattered Its tough skin, pierced Its black flesh, and quickly glided and roamed across Its body using grappling hooks.

Bursts of black mist erupted from the wounds on Its body.

Making It utterly furious.

"No..."

"You are not a Mortal..."

The jackal stared intensely at the tiny girl below.

"So that's it..."

"You are... Walker of All Realms."

"A traveler of the Multiverse... a magical life form that manipulates Attendants and spells..."

The whispering, gloomy tone twisted into a sharp thread, and in the blink of an eye, it 'pffft' stabbed through Mori Tsukisa's calf!

Anck-Su-Namun roared and pounced like a protective lioness, slicing the thread that was still emitting black mist with a knife: "Mori Tsukisa!"

"Vishantis dream—"

The girl raised her wrist, shaking the purple bracelet. Beams of light continuously amplified the Attendants entering the field.

The girl pointed at the giant deity and shouted to the serpent coiled nearby: "Nagini, I want Its destiny."

The giant python nodded, its amplified body swelling and growing, then striking the giant's arm like lightning!

She nimbly climbed up the giant's scepter, and her serpent fangs sank deep into it—black currents of air scattered into the sky from the wound, only to surge collectively toward the girl's heart!

"...It's draining away... What kind of thing are you...!"

In Anubis, Guardian of the Duat's palm, Nagini was as tiny as a ball of black yarn. She was yanked away from the wound by her tail and slammed violently onto the ground.

With a thud, blood sprayed from the serpent's body, mottling the green vines.

"Arrietty!"

The Little Sprite array launched another charge. Bastet crushed two scimitars and gave a light blow—a silver mist enveloped Anubis, Guardian of the Duat's entire body. The viscous mercury, visible to the naked eye, gradually slowed the movements of the giant god trapped within... This led to a chain reaction: silver meteors smashed into Anubis, Guardian of the Duat's chest and arms one after another. The injured Nagini, hiding behind the Little Sprites' assault, took advantage of the god's sluggishness to bite its waist several more times—

Anck-Su-Namun and Imhotep stood guard before Mori Tsukisa, never leaving her side. Their spear and twin blades continuously cut through the flying black threads.

For a moment, this group of tiny creatures actually managed to reach a stalemate with the god!

"Bastet! When I achieve the Multiverse, I will imprison you forever at the bottom of the Styx!"

"Shut up, you dead dog." The self-taught black swan lady spat a few times and pulled a silver needle about the thickness of a finger from her waist pouch.

"Mori Tsukisa, my divine power is running low... this is probably the end."

Unable to retrieve her divine power from the god box, the hastily awakened Bastet had no time to use faith to restore her losses. Meanwhile, Anubis, Guardian of the Duat... He had taken advantage of the gods' long slumber to steal and devour much divine power.

They weren't just fighting Anubis, Guardian of the Duat now.

They were facing a fragmented version of the Ancient Egypt pantheon.

Scorching magma flowed from the jackal's eyes, scattering the sprites' formation. After a gust of hurricane breath, their stamina quickly dissipated into the wind. Lightning pierced the serpent's body, and the python fell to the ground, twitching and coughing blood. Then, a blade made of Water nearly cut Nagini in half!

Bastet carried the giant python as she retreated rapidly, placing her safely in a corner at the rear. She turned to glare at the sky: "Anuket... Shu... Neith... just how much divine power have you stolen!"

"I will remember their contributions..."

Anubis, Guardian of the Duat swept away all obstacles on his body and raised his scepter again, looking down disdainfully at Bastet: "You should understand... Bastet. The allure of the Multiverse to us..."

"That doesn't mean I have to let you step over my corpse to get there." The Valkyrie held up the long silver needle in her palm.

"Silver Moon Crown!" Until now, this arrogant god finally lost his composure, and a look of terror appeared in those fearless eyes!

The silver needle rose into the air and turned into a cloud of mist.

Like a puff of smoke exhaled by a heavy smoker, it blew across Anubis, Guardian of the Duat's massive limbs with an intense pungency. From even further above, a silver crescent moon gracefully appeared.

Moonlight pierced through Anubis, Guardian of the Duat's body like arrows without resistance.

He had just pulled his last leg out from behind the barrier when he was driven back by the successive mist arrows. The dense lunar mist slanted through, bringing out a cloud of black mist while the arrowheads firmly pinned themselves to the black hole behind Anubis, Guardian of the Duat.

His arms were pierced by three arrows, making them immovable; his neck was pinned at an upward angle; his body was pierced by four arrows on each side, firmly locking his torso.

The last one pierced through his left knee and straight out the bottom of his foot.

He could no longer move.

"Mori Tsukisa..." Bastet knelt on one knee, whispering tiredly. Starting from her shoulders, silver patterns emerged all over the Valkyrie's body.

Mori Tsukisa nodded.

She was ready.

"Return." The girl's voice crossed the clouds, echoing the distant silver moon. As the Attendants retreated behind her, countless black threads of fate intertwined in the girl's heart. A mass of pus-like black water dissolved and opened into a pair of... blooming black swan wings.

The black feathers floated from bottom to top, contrary to the norm.

—The black swan on the Tower.

The girl's wingspan grew longer and longer. With a slight flap, they stirred up storms of black wind. Mori Tsukisa extended her open palm toward the still-struggling Anubis, Guardian of the Duat, her black hair flying wildly and merging with the pure black feathers.

The fates of all the dead were gathered in her palm.

In a daze, Anck-Su-Namun saw a sea of spirits surrounding the girl.

They had hideous faces and severed limbs.

They wailed with both piety and malice, chanting with both madness and calm.

They hungered for flesh and slaughter, yet were content to become candle wicks, ignited by the girl to burn fiercely.

They closed their eyes, hands crossed, and bowed calmly to Mori Tsukisa.

They sang and chanted, praying to the black tower standing on the horizon and the elegant, eerie black swan that had nested atop the tower since ancient times, preening its feathers.

'black swan,'

'black swan on the Tower!'

'Eternal Immortal!'

'You are the Silver Moon!'

'You are the Calamity—'

'The walking madness and ancient evil!'

'You revive the living, mourn the dead, and shatter the firmament!'

'The black swan of the End—'

'You are the immortal scourge of fate.'

The operatic verses rose to the heavens, piercing the spatial barrier—under the pull of black fate, deep red leaked from the cracks, carrying wisps of destructive aura.

A massive, crimson, flaming meteorite plummeted downward with a surge of air and flames!

As Anubis, Guardian of the Duat looked at the tiny creatures, the meteorite above his head looked indifferently at the equally tiny Anubis, Guardian of the Duat.

The natural disaster had arrived.
