Chapter 287 - Chapter 86: Literary Otaku Mama

This meteorite, large enough to crush half a city, smashed down toward Anubis, Guardian of the Duat.

The overwhelming airwaves blew away the nearest Little Sprites. After a signal from Mori Tsukisa's eyes, Nagini, Imhotep, and Anck-Su-Namun acted like three goalkeepers, raising their hands to catch the little ones flying toward them in various poses.

Boom—

Rumble!!

Scorching flames charred the giant's palms. The immense pressure of the meteorite forced Anubis, Guardian of the Duat to one knee—by now, he had completely emerged from the Underworld, one hand and one leg on the ground, struggling to withstand the great disaster the girl had created for him.

"It seems my Surprise failed to kill him." Mori Tsukisa sat half-propped on the ground unhappily, trying to make small talk with the equally exhausted Bastet.

Only then did Bastet realize how truly bold Mori Tsukisa was—not the crazy, mischievous kind that cats and dogs avoid, but the fact that this girl... truly didn't care about her own life.

Especially since she didn't yet know that no matter how much she struggled, she wouldn't die.

A trickle of blood flowed from the girl's lips, and her palms were already mangled. Nagini, in her human form, held her distressedly, tucking the small hands into her own bosom.

Arrietty and the other sprites' armor were also long since tattered, with silver metal hanging loosely from their bodies.

The Little Sprites stared solemnly at the giant god struggling against the meteorite.

—The fate lines collected during this period weren't that many. Facing a god, the young Planeswalker was still slightly overmatched.

"No... it's not just one." Bastet sighed, feeling a bit guilty toward Mori Tsukisa: "Your strength really exceeded my expectations, Mori Tsukisa."

"If it were just Anubis, Guardian of the Duat... we should have won."

The moment they clashed, Bastet discovered Anubis, Guardian of the Duat's problem: those powers of fire and water, the gusts that drained the enemy's stamina and energy; the vines that could grow and the endless high-temperature magma.

They didn't belong to him.

He had stolen too much divine power from the sleeping gods, and now, he continued to absorb them to counter the disaster Mori Tsukisa had summoned.

"Who do you think you are fighting?" Anubis, Guardian of the Duat gradually rose from his kneeling position. Before long, he could hold up that massive meteorite with both hands.

"You are fighting the entire Ancient Egypt pantheon, Planeswalker!" The jackal grinned, and with every breath, countless strands of divine power of various colors were sucked into his body.

Expanding, and expanding further.

Anubis, Guardian of the Duat roared, using one hand to grab his scepter and violently piercing through the meteorite!

Boom—

The earth shook and the mountains swayed!

Under the shock of the powerful divine aura, some blurred spatial fragments were crushed and decomposed as the impact swept past. Countless irregular black holes appeared densely in mid-air!

Space had been shattered.

"Behind me are the gods of Ancient Egypt!" The jackal tore apart the meteorite and let out a long howl toward the sky!

"How shameless." Bastet propped herself up, looking upward. At this point, she was too lazy to resist; in the black cat's view, the matter was settled: "Stealing divine power is a taboo."

Anubis, Guardian of the Duat rubbed his neck, and those arms that had been crushed and melted by the meteorite's impact and high-temperature flames grew back once more.

"I will ascend to the Multiverse, Bastet. I have you to thank..."

The black cat curled her lip and used one hand to point at Mori Tsukisa: "You can take my divine power, but her—"

"Let her go. She will leave this World sooner or later and won't be a threat to you."

The jackal stared at Mori Tsukisa for a long while, and to Bastet's relieved expression, he slowly... shook his head.

"Are you crazy?" Bastet sat up straight in anger: "She's a Planeswalker... she..."

Suddenly, thinking of something, Bastet immediately shut her mouth.

"Of course... a fresh and juicy Walker of All Realms..." Anubis, Guardian of the Duat grinned, his giant head making his fangs look even sharper and more terrifying: "You are very foolish, Bastet. A Planeswalker who can manipulate Spell Power and walk the Multiverse, and you didn't eat her..."

"Instead, you became friends with her..."

"Don't you know what a rare material for ascension this is for a god?"

"Now, I need her spark and blood..."

Bastet hummed twice, staring at Anubis, Guardian of the Duat with malice and saying nothing: Oh, I didn't know a creature like a Planeswalker was good for gods? Only you're smart? So brave, go ahead and clash with her.

As she thought this, the wolf head indeed turned toward the girl.

Mori Tsukisa looked at him expressionlessly.

"What do you say, Planeswalker. Offer up your spark, and I will grant you the hope of life."

"Sigh..." Taking her hands out of Nagini's embrace, Mori Tsukisa wiped the blood from the corner of her mouth: "This was supposed to be an assignment I could finish independently, but now I have to ask for help from the audience outside the field..."

"Dog-headed suction monster."

Before Anubis, Guardian of the Duat could get angry, Mori Tsukisa stood up unsteadily, clapped her hands together with a 'clap,' and looked solemnly at the shattered space above her head.

In the eyes of her equally solemn Attendants, their Master was making such a dignified gesture for the first time.

Then... she said.

"Mama, save me."

Arrietty covered her face:...I knew it.

A vast amount of magic power came rolling in!

Like swatting a bug, it made Anubis, Guardian of the Duat's roar freeze in his throat. The various divine powers of the Egyptian gods, and the might released by the jackal giant to 'clash' with Mori Tsukisa—were instantly shattered... The sky and earth fell silent, the wind stopped, and the thunder ceased.

A white vertical line like a crayon stroke sliced through space, and then, a slender and powerful hand 'peeled back' this spatial barrier that was as fragile as a dust cloth.

The newcomer held a thick book with a dark green cover, with lines of elegant text written in silver ink. On her wrists were angular, thin, circular metal bracelets, and all ten of her fingers wore silver rings of the same style but with different patterns.

A brown robe trailed at her feet, revealing pale skin as she walked. Long white hair hung down to her ankles, and on her reserved, quiet face sat a pair of thin black-framed glasses.

Arrietty took a deep breath, covered her heart, and exhaled it.

She lowered her head while whispering: Normal, normal, normal, normal. Her Majesty the Queen's Mama is dressed normally, normally, normally... Normal my foot!

What's with this literary geek girl getup?

And what on earth is that peeking out from under her trench coat?

The AV vibes are just overflowing!

—This young girl, who looked not much older than Mori Tsukisa, pushed up her black-rimmed glasses, stood still in mid-air, and tilted her head at Mori Tsukisa.

She raised the hand that wasn't holding a book and waved it stiffly twice—exactly like a puppet that hadn't moved for a long time but had suddenly been wound up.

"Hel, lo."

"Daugh, ter."

Arrietty: Is she such a shut-in that she can't even speak properly anymore!

While she was happily complaining, Anubis on the other side was nearly driven mad. He was suppressed by that energy to the point where he couldn't move; even though he was doing his best to strip away and absorb those dormant divine powers, it was still just a drop in the bucket.

"Walker of All Realms!!"

The literary geek girl turned her head stiffly, as if gears were clicking in her neck. She glanced at Anubis and pressed a finger to... the corner of her mouth.

The movement was extremely non-standard.

"Shh... I, want to talk, to my daugh, ter."

Arrietty: Not a single one of them is normal...
