The crowd gasped as Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon appeared on the field, its presence instantly drawing every eye. Excitement surged again, and people began whispering about how this was a new evolved form of Blue-Eyes developed by Kaiba Corporation's top research teams. Many turned their gaze toward Yugen on the opposite side, wondering what kind of monster a person must be to defeat such an AI.
"Even if it is Alternative White Dragon, it is still a Dragon-type," Yugen said calmly. "As long as Dragon Capture Jar is on the field, all face-up Dragons must switch to Defense Position." Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon shifted into defense.
"Does not matter," the AI Seto Kaiba shouted. "Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon can destroy a monster with its effect, so I will show you the true power of the White Dragon." "Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon, activate your effect. Once per turn, destroy one monster on your opponent's field. I destroy your Dragon Seeker!"
The Dragon opened its mouth, white light spinning into a violent spiral, ready to fire. "Then I flip another card," Yugen said, raising his hand. "Continuous Trap, Light-Imprisoning Mirror."
A massive mirror appeared above the field like a crystal eye. Power poured from it, scattering the energy gathered in Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon's mouth and absorbing it completely. "As long as Light-Imprisoning Mirror remains on the field, all effects of Light-attribute monsters activated on the field or in the graveyard are negated."
The crowd froze in shock. Even the students of Duel Dojo, already used to Yugen's mental warfare style, inhaled sharply at the sight. The air felt cold enough to make people shiver, while the AI projection stood silent, flickering as if pushed to the edge of overload.
In the back row, two Continuous Traps stood side by side. One might as well read "This targets Dragons," and the other "Light monsters will die." Down below, Koji Sato swallowed hard and glanced at Yugen, wondering if his senior was about to become the first Duelist to crash an AI system by force.
"It is not over yet," the AI insisted. "I activate the Spell Trade-In from my hand. I discard a Level 8 monster and draw two cards." "I discard the Blue-Eyes White Dragon I searched earlier with The Melody of Awakening Dragon, and draw two."
After resolving the Card Draw, the AI revealed another card. "I Normal Summon Sage Chiron." Sage Chiron appeared with 1800 ATK.
"Sage Chiron's effect lets me discard one Spell to destroy one Spell or Trap Card on the field," the AI explained. "It is an Earth monster, so it is not affected by the mirror. I discard a card and destroy Light-Imprisoning Mirror."
A red beam shattered the mirror into fragments. Yugen did not look surprised, since Kaiba's Deck often relied on Dragons and Light monsters as finishers, while the smaller monsters were harder to lock down. That flexibility was the deck's real strength.
"Next, I discard the Spell Card Cards of Consonance," the AI continued. "When this card is discarded, I draw two cards. (ANIME EFFECT)" "Then I activate the Spell Dragon Shrine. I send one Dragon-type monster from my Deck to the graveyard, and if it is a Normal Monster, I can send another Dragon as well."
Two cards were sent to the graveyard. "I send the third Blue-Eyes White Dragon in my Deck and White Spirit Dragon."
The AI raised another card. "Spell Card, Return of the Dragon Lords. I Special Summon a Level 7 or 8 Dragon from my graveyard. I choose White Spirit Dragon."
Light burst from the graveyard as a pure white Dragon rose, its wings spreading wide. A flash like a Mystical Space Typhoon swept the field as it settled into Defense Position. White Spirit Dragon stood firm with 2000 Defense.
"White Spirit Dragon, activate your effect," the AI said. "When this card is Summoned, I banish one Spell or Trap Card my opponent controls. I banish your Continuous Trap, Dragon Capture Jar."
The sealing jar shattered and vanished into the vortex. The crowd murmured in awe, impressed by how perfectly the AI had navigated out of such a tight lock. Some even whispered that it moved like a true Legendary Duelist, and that beating such an AI should be impossible.
"This is where it really begins," the AI roared. "Now witness the absolute domination of the strongest Dragons."
Golden light formed another Spell Card image. Everyone recognized it at once. "Spell Card, Dragon's Mirror, activate. I banish Fusion Materials from my field and graveyard to Fusion Summon."
"I banish three Blue-Eyes White Dragon from my graveyard and perform the ultimate Fusion."
The three Dragons appeared, swallowed by a storm of lightning and white light. "After endless evolution, descend now in your ultimate form. Level 12, Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon, summon."
The massive three-headed Dragon towered over the field, each scale gleaming with light as all three heads roared together. Its ATK was 4500, and the crowd exploded in excitement at the sight of a legend made real.
The AI laughed loudly, crossing its arms and imitating Seto Kaiba perfectly. "This is the final form of the White Dragon, the strongest there is."
His voice suddenly stopped. Another Trap Card had risen on Yugen's field. It was called Enemy Controller.
"Trap Card, Enemy Controller," Yugen said evenly. "When your opponent successfully Fusion Summons a monster, you can Tribute one monster you control to take control of that Fusion Monster. (ANIME EFFECT)"
The AI froze in disbelief, its face twisting in shock and anger. "Dragon's Mirror performs a Fusion Summon, so this card can respond," Yugen added.
He sent Dragon Manipulator from his field to the graveyard and pointed at the three-headed Dragon. "I Tribute Dragon Manipulator and take control of Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon."
Hellfire-like effects wrapped around the Dragon before it reappeared on Yugen's side of the field. The audience fell completely silent, words failing them as they stared at the impossible scene. Stealing such a monster felt unreal, like something that would stay satisfying for months.
"My Turn!, Card Draw," Yugen said, activating another Spell. "I activate Riryoku. I choose one Light-attribute monster on your field, and all my face-up monsters gain ATK equal to that monster's ATK until the end of the turn. (ANIME EFFECT)"
The AI projection stuttered, its image flickering as if the system was failing. "I choose your Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon," Yugen continued. "Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon gains its ATK."
Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon surged from 4500 ATK to 7500. The crowd could only shout praise, lacking any better way to measure such overwhelming power.
"Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon, attack Sage Chiron."
Three mouths opened at once, unleashing a flood of white light that erased everything in its path. The AI's Life Points dropped straight to zero, and the projection dissolved in the glare, leaving the arena in stunned silence.
At the same time, somewhere else.
Rex Raptor was in a pretty good mood today. After staying out of sight for several days, he came to the arena and crushed a string of weaker opponents, winning several matches in a row and getting his confidence back. This finally felt right to him, like dueling was supposed to be.
So it really was not his problem in those previous matches. After seven straight wins, Rex Raptor left the venue feeling satisfied. He bought some dinner nearby, and as he stepped out, he unexpectedly ran into a fan.
"Ah, it's Rex Raptor!" A teenage boy spotted him from far away, his eyes lighting up as he ran over. "I'm your fan. Could you give me an autograph?"
