~Soutarou POV~
Tearing his eyes away from the 'Rias,' "Yami,' and 'Tearju,' Soutarou found himself face to face with Brock. Turning and facing the young gym leader, Soutarou extended his hand for a handshake, which Brock immediately took and shook firmly, with Brock saying while looking up, "That was one hell of a battle… Very, very impressive. I've never been beaten that soundly, that Milotic of yours is truly something. Not to mention… That situational awareness was ridiculous… It's trainers like you who lit a fire in my bones for the desire for battle… Alas…"
Soutarou scratched his chin and said, "Alas…?"
Brock smiled half-heartedly and said, "Unfortunately I have to support my nine siblings… and leaving the Gym isn't an option for me."
Soutarou paused and said, "Ah… Truly unfortunate… I'm sure someday you'll be able to go on a journey and become an even more excellent trainer. As for my Pokemon… They might be a bit overkill for now… But this was my first Gym Battle. I wasn't exactly sure what to expect…"
Brock nodded and smirked, saying, "Just make sure to make the others' suffer just as much as me."
Soutarou smiled back and the two men chatted before Misty and Kaede arrived… To be blunt Brock's brain immediately shut off seeing Kaede with him dropping to one knee and him instantly beginning to proclaim his love for her.
'Hmm… Brock actually recognized her as Kaede…? As expected… Though I wonder what's-'
Soutarou watched as Brock went flying for a moment before cold sweat covered his back, 'Tsunade?!? No, what the hell… Was that Brick Break?'
Soutarou felt sweat forming on his forehead, 'Damn women are scary…'
Kaede put her hands behind her and cooed sweetly to Soutarou acting as if she were some sweet innocent little girl. This made Soutarou's brows twitch before he coughed into his fist and said, "Ehem… Gym Leader… Brock-san… About the Gym Badge…"
Brock immediately said, "Ah… Apologies," and out of nowhere he pulled out an ornate box of badges and handed Soutarou a simple stone gray octagonal rounded badge with a raised boulder-like area in the center.
Brock smiled faintly and said, "You clearly earned this… But still congratulations and good luck on your journey. Now excuse me I've got to report that burst pipe and make adjustments for future challengers."
Soutarou nodded and wished Brock luck as well, going so far as to "pray" that his dream comes true soon. Kaede and Misty smiled at Soutarou as on their way out while Soutarou clutched the badge in one hand he had pulled out his SummersDex and transferred a sum of one million over to the Pewter Gym donation box online, under his own name of course, with a small note saying, "I wish the Gym Leader best of luck in his adventurous endeavors. - Soutarou Morita"
Kaede said softly, "As expected of you… Always being so kind."
Soutarou shook his head and said, "It's called making connections… Who knows if someday I'll need the help of a Gym Leader or not… and people always remember those who help them in times of need, as for those who help once they're succeeding? Not so much. If nothing else it'll make M Corp business here in Pewter easier eventually."
Kaede nodded though her smile seemed to say, "I don't believe you… Just admit you wanted to help the poor gym leader."
Misty had an even more fond gaze with her eyes turning very soft, but she didn't say anything.
As they exited the Gym, Soutarou slung his backpack to his front side and zipped it open, taking out the Gym Badge Box out and opening it, before gently placing it into one of the slots.
'Huh it's magnetic…'
Once he put the badge away and stored the bag he smiled at Kaede and made a peace sign and said, "All right! I got the Boulder Badge!"
Kaede chuckled and turned reminiscent after seeing Soutarou pose as if some imaginary camera was watching him. Misty turned confused, before Soutarou returned to normal and said, "Want to start for Cerulean? We still have time."
Misty was just about to say something before Soutarou smiled and said, "No worries about not having time to prepare… Ms. Gym Leader, Misty. I don't mind, once we get back you can take a day to prepare for our battle."
Misty looked bewildered and said, "But… How…?"
Soutarou smiled and said, "You didn't forget who I am, did you? I have access to a plethora of information and I always vet my traveling companions… Still I don't mind… Just make it a battle that I remember."
Misty looked back at him and said, "Don't worry… I promise you'll remember it."
Misty's gaze turned hazy for a moment, before a flash of determination burned in her eyes and she smiled saying, "You'll be in for a surprise."
Misty glanced at Kaede who raised an eyebrow and nodded. Soutarou pretended not to notice their interaction and the trio began walking towards the edge of the city immediately preparing to leave towards Cerulean.
Soutarou's eyes flashed as he remembered a few things and he glanced back at Kaede and asked a few questions, "Hey Kaede."
Kaede turned her head towards Soutarou as the trio began to leave and she asked, "What's up?"
Soutarou said, "Do you know anyone named Yellow or Green?"
Kaede scratched her chin and said, "No… But if it's a name with a color… There were those two monsters, Blue and Red about five years ago, though no one knows where either of them went. Oh there's also Gym Leader Giovanni's son, Silver."
'Once again the timeline seems to be messed up.'
Soutarou's eyes flashed slightly before he continued, "Ah forget it then… Though I'm curious… Aren't you a League Inspector? Doesn't that include inspecting gyms?"
Kaede nodded and said, "What of it?"
Soutarou just said, "Were you inspecting the Gym during my battle?"
Kaede nodded and slipped her backpack around and pulled out a clipboard and showed Soutarou before saying, "Honestly, Pewter City Gym was a bit disappointing. I've marked them down for reevaluation."
Soutarou suddenly said, "Can you delay the reevaluation for about three weeks?"
Kaede raised an eyebrow and said, "Alright… I was planning to send someone to evaluate the Gym in about three days… But I guess I can delay it a bit. Though Soutarou…"
Kaede smiled playfully and said, "You know that could be considered coercion of a League Officer?"
Soutarou feigned fear and dramatically said, "Oh no! Anyways it's ok if you arrest me I'll be out by tomorrow."
Kaede's brow twitched and said, "Ah…"
Soutarou waved dismissively and said, "Aren't you impressed by the young master? Go on, praise me."
Misty snorted and Kaede rolled her eyes all while Soutarou released Ralts onto his shoulder and said to her telepathically, {Ralts mark my Viridian Power and send off as many waves of Psychic Power as you can. If needed, use my psychic energy reserve as a secondary fuel source and search as much of the forest as you can for Viridian Power like my own.}
Ralts and Soutarou's eyes lit up in a blue hue in sync making Kaede and Misty frown. Soutarou and Ralts were planted in place with their psychic energy flaring off in waves for a good moment making both Kaede and Misty nervous. They glanced at each other before Misty said, "Something up?"
Kaede's hand shot down to her Pokeballs and Soutarou raised his hand in a halting motion and said, "No worries, just we might have to take a slight detour… I found something interesting. Or rather Ralts did…"
'As expected… She does exist… But the timeline is absolutely messed up.'
'She's a lot closer to Pewter than expected…'
Kaede made a weird face, but calmly nodded, before Misty said, "A detour? Where to?"
Soutarou squinted for a second and then just said, "Don't worry it won't take long. Come close."
Kaede nodded albeit a bit confused, before Misty groaned and said, "I hate teleportation…"
Soutarou pitifully looked over at her, before Ralts wrapped them in psychic energy and they teleported away.
The trio landed in a green plain amidst the forest, where a large pond was and there she was… Yellow. She was sitting at the edge of the pond with a clearly homemade fishing rod in her signature wide sun bleached straw hat that cast a large shadow over her face. Her small build and blonde hair in a pony tail stuck out to Soutarou like a sore thumb, as did her home sewn outfit. Her outfit was interesting to say the least; it consisted of a brown long sleeve with a yellow tunic fastened at the chest, a small brown leather belt with a pouch on the side strapped around her waist area, along with fitted leggings, and sturdy boots that clearly had some wear on them.
Soutarou's eyes lit up in glee, 'Heh. I might have Viridian Power… But I doubt it compares to this monster. This girl… Honestly even with the system… She'll probably surpass me. But… She's also extremely… Innocent and if I'm not wrong she literally fought the Elite Four once just because someone helped her once… So what would happen if Yellow, who wants to go on a pokemon journey, was helped out by… Yours truly? Heh.'
'Plus I need someone who can truly teach me how to use Viridian Power… Who better than the poster child of it? As for Aura and Psychic powers… Those'll come eventually. Aura is something Kaede might be able to help me with as for Psychic power… I have Ralts, why do I need some outsiders help?'
Misty and Kaede looked around in curiosity before both landed on the scrawny girl across the pond who Soutarou had been staring at, who was also now looking at them. Soutarou waved politely before making his way over to her. Misty turned confused while Kaede tapped her chin before lighting up in realization of a possibility.
Soutarou sat down a bit away from the girl with Kaede and Misty looking confused before shrugging and doing the same. Soutarou softly said, "Caught anything yet?"
The girl was really surprised and a bit shy and said, "A-ah… N-no. N-not yet."
Soutarou nodded before taking out his own fishing rod from his backpack making the girl gape in surprise and blink several times. Soutarou chuckled and said, "Nothing crazy, it's just a spatial backpack, you can take a look if you'd like."
Soutarou gently placed the backpack next to the girl and sat next to her and cast his own line before Misty followed suit. Kaede took out a picnic blanket and began setting up, realizing Soutarou was probably trying to recruit this person for some reason.
The girl peeked at the backpack before shyly pushing it back to Soutarou and thanking him. The trio fished in peace while Kaede continued to write a report off in the corner under the shade of a tree. The trio weren't getting any bites and so Soutarou introduced himself, "Ah sorry I haven't introduced myself have I? The name's Soutarou Morita, a pleasure to make your acquaintance. You are?"
The girl stuttered, "I'm Y-yellow Viridian, the… the pleasure is all mine, sir."
Soutarou shook his head and said, "Just Soutarou is fine. If it's fine I'll just call you Yellow."
Yellow's eyes lit up and she smiled and nodded quietly. To the side both Misty and Kaede glanced at one another, while Kaede all, but confirmed something.
As the group sat and fished or attempted to do so, a few Pokemon wandered towards the group, coming towards Yellow and Soutarou. Which surprised Yellow and made her think…
Eventually a limping Rattata came over and Yellow's eyes widened and she was about to get up when Soutarou passed his rod to Misty and he got up and released a golden translucent energy and began healing it.
