Chapter 21 - Chapter 21 Unexpected Lineup

"What is that?"

On the way back to the fighter jet, as he passed a room filled with various advanced machines, Hawking's heart stirred. He feigned curiosity and pointed to the pool in the center.

Wolverine explained with a complex expression:

"That's where I was experimented on. The bubbling silver liquid next to it is Adamantium.

According to Stryker, the raw liquid can only be maintained at high temperatures; once it cools, it becomes indestructible."

After speaking, he shot a fierce glare at Stryker, who was being held by Colossus.

Stryker, clutching his right hand, which Wolverine had pierced, sneered:

"You should be thanking me. Without me, you'd still be using those broken bones as weapons."

"Then let me thank you properly with them!"

Hearing this, Wolverine's Adamantium claws instantly popped out, ready to strike Stryker a few more times.

However, Professor X stopped him.

"Logan, don't kill him yet. We need him to prove the assassination attempt so that the President abandons his decision to wage war on Mutants."

Stryker controlled Nightcrawler to assassinate the President, attempting to provoke a war between humans and Mutants. In a few days, the President would publicly announce the Mutant threat and issue a war order against Mutants.

He needed to present evidence that Stryker instigated all of this to resolve the crisis.

While Wolverine and Professor X were talking, Hawking had already quickly run to the pool.

He looked around, found a suitable hollow tube nearby, picked up the Adamantium injector, and pushed it in.

After the raw liquid cooled, he squeezed it hard, the tube shattered, and a thick, hard adamantium alloy staff appeared in his hand.

When he loaded the Goku template, he had a power pole, but in his normal state, he had no weapons.

Although Saiyans prefer to fight bare-handed, he felt that with weapons, he would be stronger than without them, given his current strength.

Future World's Trunks also carried a sword when fighting the Androids.

Adamantium, as one of the hardest metals in the Marvel Universe, can only be maintained in a liquid state at high temperatures during its initial smelting. Once cooled, it becomes indestructible, showing no signs of melting even at 500,000°C.

Now that he had a rare opportunity to encounter it, how could he waste it by leaving it here?

In fact, if there hadn't been a mold nearby, he would have preferred a knife or a sword, which would have had more lethality.

Unfortunately, he couldn't stay here long, nor could he dismantle the entire machine to take it with him. Once the machine stopped, the liquid would cool and could no longer be melted, so it could only all be used to make staffs.

"Quick, get out, we have trouble!"

Just as Hawking finished making the adamantium alloy staff, Professor X's expression changed.

"Professor, what's wrong?"

Storm quickly asked.

She rarely saw Professor X with such a grave expression; even when directly facing Magneto, he had never been like this.

"Eric is fighting someone outside the Base, and he's about to collapse."

"What!"

Everyone was startled. They had all experienced Magneto's power. If he got serious, even all of them together might not be his match.

Who could be strong enough to make Magneto struggle?

At this moment, Hawking, who had returned with the adamantium alloy staff, was also stunned, as this situation was completely unexpected for him.

At least in the plot he knew, this particular event didn't happen.

"Holy crap, S.H.I.E.L.D.?"

On the snowy ground outside the Base, Hawking's eyes widened as he looked at the group of people fighting Magneto.

The one with the shield, who looked exactly like the comic book character, was clearly Carter, Captain of Britain. The one wielding a bow and arrow, never missing a shot, should be Hawkeye Barton.

The one with red hair, appearing sixteen or seventeen but agile enough to fight Mystique to a stalemate, was likely Black Widow, who had just blown up the Red Room and joined S.H.I.E.L.D.

And the bald Black man with an eye patch standing behind them, and the White man next to him with some M-shaped hair loss, were most likely Nick Fury and Phil Coulson.

As for the last one, a Black woman enveloped in energy, pressing down on Magneto from above.

Needless to say, it had to be Maria Rambeau, Captain Marvel's friend from the main Universe and the founder of S.W.O.R.D., who had now become Captain Marvel in this Universe.

If these people were singled out, he might not have recognized them due to their age, but seeing them together, it became very obvious.

Why was S.H.I.E.L.D. here?

As soon as this thought came to him, Hawking couldn't help but smack his own head, cursing himself for his oversight.

Although the current events were very similar to the plot of a standalone Mutant movie, this was not an independent Mutant Universe, but Universe 838, which, in addition to Mutants, had most of the Marvel characters and organizations.

So, with something as major as the President being attacked by Mutants, how could S.H.I.E.L.D. not get involved?

If S.H.I.E.L.D. had just been established, it might not have been able to intervene, but it was already the year 2000. By this time, Nick Fury should have been the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., leading its true development.

Given Nick Fury's arrogant personality, which aimed to control all dangers, how could he easily allow Mutants to cause trouble?

It's worth noting that in the main Universe, even without Mutants, whenever an empowered individual appeared, they would be found and monitored by S.H.I.E.L.D., and there was even a special list.

What surprised him a bit was that this World's Captain Marvel actually remained on Earth and did not leave for the Universe.

Because Captain Marvel Carol, in the main World, after defeating the invading Kree in 1995, went to the Universe to maintain universal peace, leaving Nick Fury only a pager.

He figured that since the Universe, characters, and personalities were different, the development of many events had also changed.

Just like Captain Carter, she shouldn't have appeared at this time.

Captain America of the main Universe, in order to prevent a plane carrying a nuclear bomb from destroying New York, crashed into a glacier with the plane, and was only discovered and unfrozen by S.H.I.E.L.D. in 2011.

As for Captain Carter of this Universe, according to the comics he read, she was sealed into an alternate dimension along with Red Skull while trying to stop him from using the Tesseract to unleash HYDRA.

"Boom!"

Captain Marvel punched through a combat helicopter blocking her, knocking Magneto out of the sky. Hawkeye seized the opportunity to shoot a specially made non-metallic tranquilizer arrow, sedating Magneto.

At the same time, Mystique, during her fight with Black Widow, was also hit on the back of the head by Captain Carter's shield and knocked unconscious.

"You must be Professor Charles. I am Nick Fury, Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., and I am now ordering you and your students to come with me to be investigated regarding the attack on the President.

Do not attempt to resist; you should have seen the fate of these two!"

After successfully apprehending Magneto and Mystique, Nick Fury also saw Professor X emerging from the spillway, as well as the teleporting Mutant who had attacked the President.
