One year changes a lot.
One year ago, Daisy sat in a cold interogation room with tears running down her face, accused of a crime she didn't commit. She was scared, broken, and alone.
But that girl was no longer existed.
One year later, Daisy was no longer the prey.
She was the predator, her name was feared among her fellow inmate.
It was breakfast time in the prison and the inmates lined up in the cafeteria.
Some had already gotten their food and were seated at the table eating.
Daisy stepped into the cafeteria with slow, measured steps, her eyes scanning the room with quiet calculation.
The usual noise of clattering trays and loud chatter faded slightly as a few inmates noticed her presence. Some looked away immediately, suddenly very interested in their food. Others whispered under their breath.
Everyone in this prison knew her name.
Not because she was the newest inmate.
But because of what she had done in the last year.
Daisy picked up a metal tray from the stack and moved along the food line, her expression calm and unreadable. The prison cook placed a scoop of watery oatmeal and two slices of bread onto her tray without meeting her eyes.
She didn't mind.
Fear had a way of making people quiet.
As she turned toward the tables, a large inmate sitting near the center of the cafeteria stiffened. The woman quickly grabbed her tray and moved to another table, leaving the seat empty.
Daisy sat down slowly, crossing one leg over the other as if she owned the entire room.
Her hand held the spoon as she scooped the watery oatmeal to her mouth.
But she stopped midway and suddenly sniffed it.
A smirk curved on her lips and she stood up, carried the tray and head to the cafeteria.
As she moved, people quickly moved away to allow her to pass.
She kept walking till she got to the where they were dishing out food.
She stared at the lady who dished out food for her and smirked.
The Lady's heart skipped a beat and she opened her mouth to talk but nothing came out of it.
Daisy glanced at the tea in her hand and without thinking twice, she poured the contents at the lady.
No one made a sound.
She then held the woman's hand and dragged her across the table knocking down the pot of oatmeal.
The pot fell and it's content spilled on the floor.
Daisy didn't care, she dragged the woman to the centre of the room and released her hand.
The woman immediately fell on her knees and began to beg.
"Please Daze, spare me. I had no choice, they threatened my family" she pleaded.
Her hand trembled and her body shivered.
"Not what I wanted to hear. Who sent you?. And I am not going to ask a second time" Daisy said.
"I don't know, they were all wearing disguise when they come to see me. I swear Daze, I swear on my life"
"Well that will only mean one thing" Daisy stated.
She held the woman by her neck and led her to one of the nearest table.
The occupants of the table had immediately left when they saw her heading towards them.
Daisy reached the table and she smirked at the woman before smashing her head on the table.
"Ahhhhhhhhhh" the woman screamed as her head made contact with the table.
"Please Daze—"
Daisy smashed her head, again, again, again and again.
By the time she released her, her head was covered in blood but she was still conscious.
"You cursed yourself when you accepted the offer to poison me" Daisy spat and stomped her foot on her hand.
Her hollowed screams filled the cafeteria but it only serve as a fuel to Daisy.
She pressed her foot hard and she screamed more.
The scream attracted the security men and five them came into the cafeteria.
They stopped short when the saw Daisy, they exchanged glances with each other and debated what they should do.
Daisy didn't spare them a glance, she continued what she was doing till the woman couldn't take it anymore and blacked out.
That was when she took her foot away and glanced at the door when the security men stood.
With her head up, she walked towards them.
As she approaches, they subconsciously took a step back.
"You should really look out when employing worker here. You don't want another murder here in the prison" she said.
"Understood?" She asked when they didn't reply.
"Yes Daze" they replied in unison.
"Good" she muttered and walked out of the room.
When she left everyone in the room heave a sign of relief and some released the breath the did'nt realize they were holding.
They all prayed silently that they never fall into her hand.
Outside the room, Daisy walked to her cell, her head up and get hands in her pocket.
The kind little girl was no more, replaced was a more stronger girl who would do anything to survive and who punished those that offends her.
She had no friend in the prison and she talked to no one.
She believed that friends equals to betrayal and that was a risk she couldn't take.
Until she came.
Kate, a girl who suffered the same fate as her.
Wrongly accused with no one to speak for her.
Daisy shocked everyone by becoming close to Kate.
She made her to be strong like herself and teach her how to survive in prison.
Everything was going well, their friendship bloomed until one day it came crashing down.
In the prison Daisy was a chief drug suppler for a big drug Baron, any amount of drugs she sells. She get seventy percent out of it.
The security men are afraid of her so none of them could challenge her even when they saw what she was doing.
I don't blame them though.
Daisy nicknamed 'Daze' was someone she couldn't mess with or else you want to die.
That day Kate told Daisy about a male inmate that requested for theirs drugs.
Daisy was hesitant about that cause she knew there was a supplier at the male prison and she going there was inviting war.
But Kate assured her that it was going to be fine and she will personally deliver the drugs without anyone knowing.
Daisy agreed and instructed her on what to do and Kate obediently nodded and promised to do as she was instructed.
She left and Daisy laid down on her bed waiting for her.
Few minutes later, she head footsteps approaching and her eyes opened.
At her door she saw a couple of big hefty men and Kate standing outside the door.
A security man who worked in the male section opened the cell and went to her.
"So it is you?, The drug lord that was causing havoc here. You should have just run your business in here, why did you sneak into the male prison"
Daisy opened her mouth to speak but Kate beat her to it.
"I tried to warn her but she didn't listen. She even threatened to take down the supplier there and take over" Kate said, glaring at her.
"She needs to be taken down" she added.
Daisy looked at her and started laughing hysterically.
She was surprised though and she was offended. She was the one that gave her access to her life so the blame was hers.
The hefty men dragged Daisy out of her room towards the male prison.
They got there and headed to the warden office.
"Where are you taking me?" She asked but one of them just pushed her and she fell on the floor.
They dragged her up and they continued walking.
They arrived at the warden office and pushed her in.
Daisy fell on the floor, scratching her hand.
"My, my, my, look who we have here. The almighty Daze" a voice said.
Daisy looked up and saw a man dressed in a warden uniform.
Her brows furrowed in confusion, this wasn't the warden of the male prison.
She knew the man and he also fears her.
Unless they changed him and she didn't know.
Just then Daisy felt a light shiver in her body and her eyes found the second man in the room.
He looked like trouble in its most refined form.
Tall and composed, dressed in a black suit that fit him like it had been made for war rather than business, he carried himself with effortless authority. Every step he took was slow, calculated, like he had all the time in the world.
His face was striking.
Sharp cheekbones, a defined jaw, and lips that seemed made for smirking rather than smiling. But it was his eyes that made Daisy's breath hitch for a split second.
Deep, piercing, and dangerously calm.
Like the ocean.
The kind of eyes that didn't just see you but stripped you down to your secrets.
There was something unreadable in them.
Something that whispered run...
And yet made it impossible to look
_Who is this?__
Daisy wondered.
"Take her to the torture room" the man ordered.
His voice sharp, conveying no emotions.
And Daisy felt her blood run cold.
This is it, this is where she dies?.
So this was how it ended?.
