The next day, I prepared for my second day of school. I put on my boots, pants, and a grey coat that my mom gave me when I was young. It holds so many cherished memories that I will never forget. But now it's time to go, so I grab my shoulder bag and head out. When I got to school, I went inside and sat down at a table near the wall. The reason why I sit there is so I can see anything that happens. Fights and arguments, I guess, but we're going to have to wait and see and let time pass. As I sat there, the bell rang, signaling the start of class. I got up, grabbed my things, and walked to class. While I was walking, I heard people say things like "look at him or it's the killer." I didn't really care, but every time I walked in the hallway, people would never go near me; they would make a path for me. I mean, I like it because it's easier than getting from point A to point B, but I can't take advantage of it, so I have to enjoy it while it lasts.
You may think I'm mean, and I understand that, but really, I'm just trying to protect myself because I know that someday someone will try to take advantage of me, so I have to defend myself. I got into fights back in middle school, and I have knocked out kids before. Did I like it? No, but did I have to do it? Yes, I have. And now I'm just waiting, I guess. When I arrived at class, I sat down and waited for my teacher to begin her lecture. When the lecturer started, she told us that we had a girl who was coming in late. Everyone wanted to meet her, except for me. I mean, I would like to meet her, but I knew that people in my class would tell her about my past, so I didn't have my high hopes up. When she walked in, she was the sweetest girl I thought. But I just got back to what I was doing, then the teacher walked out of class to go talk to someone, but before she walked out of class, she asked the girl to go take a seat, then the class went silent really fast when I looked up, people were looking at me drection when i turn me head i relize that the same girl that walk in sat right next to me i was in shocked myself because no one wanted to sit near me but it was like she didnt care how intimidate i look she just want to sit down then out of nowere she asked.
"So what's your name?"
"Uh, Anton, Anton Sanchez, ma'am."
"Well, it's nice to meet you, Anton. My name is Lya, Lya Azul
"It's nice to meet you, Lya."
"It's nice to meet you as well, Anton. I hope we can be good. friends"
After she said that, my emotions started to kick in because I never had anyone greet me so politely before, and hearing that made me smile just a little bit, but then the mood changed in the class. A girl named Alyna came up to her and started to tell her something she was talking smack about her, then she said
"You think sitting by him will protect you from the drama you cause with my boyfriend, and now you decide to show up in class thinking everything will be okay, but it's plus that kid is a nobody, and he can't do anything because of that ankle monitor that he has on, he's a killer, and he will never change."
When I heard that I knew something was about to happen but I waited for the right timing the when I looked up she was already getting ready to hit her and her little friend group was rooting for her to slap her in my mind I said "really I'm already going to start a problem on the second day of school well let's see what I can do" then she cocked her hand back and then swing. Mid-swing, I got up and grabbed her arm just before she could hit her. When I did that, the classroom went into complete shock, and then I said
"So I'm a no one to you, last time I checked, you called me the killer, right?" Then Alyna said
"Ya, and what are you going to do, you can't do anything about."
"Oh, don't forget—last I checked, you were the one who feared me. So maybe you should watch your back from now on. After all, since I'm just a nobody to you, I have nothing to lose. I could break your arm right here, right now, when you least expect it." I said with an intimidating voice when she heard that. I felt her heart drop when I said
"So if any of you are thinking about pushing my boundaries, go ahead. Just keep in mind, I never let anyone walk away unscathed. Understood?"
Then I let her arm go, and she walked back to her seat. After that, I checked on Lya to see if she was okay for her safety. When I asked her, she said that she was fine. I was glad, but I didn't show any emotion at all, just a straight face. After that, everything was kind of back to normal, but I can't shake the feeling that something bad is always around the corner. It's a reminder to cherish the present and stay prepared for whatever comes next.
