"Uzumaki Naruto… heh. So this is his retribution. Namikaze Minato, this is finally your retribution!"
The Engraved Tsukuyomi version of Killer B threw his head back and laughed the moment he saw Naruto, sounding like someone who had waited years for justice to finally arrive.
"U-Uncle B, please don't act like that. You're scaring me."
Naruto had no idea how to respond.
Could Obito really have been telling the truth?
Did this world's Killer B and his father have some hidden history between them?
"Naruto, do you know something?"
Killer B gave him a long, meaningful look.
"Your father has never created an original technique in his life. Everything he has comes from copying someone else."
"His student Kakashi is called the Copy Ninja, but your father is the real Copy Ninja."
"He learned Flying Raijin from the Second Hokage. He based the Rasengan on the Tailed Beast Bomb."
Killer B paused.
"So do you know where the method that produced you came from?"
"I-I know that part."
Naruto felt increasingly uncomfortable under B's stare.
"My dad gave birth to me, but technically I'm the Nine-Tails' child, right?"
"You already know?"
Killer B looked mildly surprised.
"Then you should also understand that there's no way your father originally invented that whole method of constructing a special chakra bow with Tailed Beast chakra."
He narrowed his eyes.
"So whose technique did he copy?"
"…"
At this point, Naruto would have needed to be completely hopeless not to understand.
"Yours, Uncle B?"
"Exactly!"
Killer B sighed toward the heavens.
"Back then, Big Bro and I were deeply devoted to each other."
"Kumogakure is different from the other hidden villages. The Raikage's position is hereditary, so if Big Bro and I remained together, succession would become a serious problem."
"I wanted to solve that."
"So I traveled widely until, in the homeland of the Gold and Silver Brothers, I discovered an ancient legend concerning the mother of the Sage of Six Paths."
"According to the story, the progenitor of chakra received the blessings of others and was able to produce the Sage of Six Paths and his brother without following ordinary rules."
"That gave me hope."
Killer B's expression turned solemn.
"I devoted myself to research and eventually developed a method using Tailed Beast chakra to construct a special purple bow."
"With that method, humans and jinchūriki, two jinchūriki, Tailed Beasts and jinchūriki… practically any combination could create a child born from their bond."
Naruto's face slowly went blank.
"But Big Bro said the technique was too shocking."
"Especially because certain bond-type shinobi might accuse us of betraying their ideology and switching over to the furry side."
"So, on the Raikage's advice, I hid the technique and kept it for my own private use."
"That year, I was preparing to help Big Bro secure an heir."
"Then war broke out."
"As a jinchūriki, I went to the battlefield."
"And there…"
Killer B's expression darkened.
"I met your father, Namikaze Minato."
There was no need to explain the rest.
Everyone present could already guess where this was going.
After hearing the full story firsthand, even Obito couldn't help sighing.
This world's version of himself really had become too kind after Madara reformed him.
If he had been more like the real-world Obito and simply killed Namikaze Minato during the Nine-Tails incident, he would practically have been performing a public service.
Removing one great menace from Konoha.
Naruto began counting relationships on his fingers.
"Wait, let me make sure I understand."
"So my dad and the Eight-Tails had a child?"
He frowned.
"Then why are you this angry, Uncle B? Are you standing up for Gyūki?"
"That child may not be biologically mine, but I raised her as though she were."
Killer B looked at Naruto.
"Isn't it the same with you?"
"You're technically the Nine-Tails' child, yet Namikaze Minato and Uzumaki Kushina still treat you as their son."
Naruto thought about it.
"Oh."
"That actually makes sense."
He accepted the logic almost immediately.
"Come on, Naruto."
Killer B waved someone over.
"Say hello to your older half-sister."
"After that, I'll take you to the Falls of Truth."
"Older sister?"
Naruto blinked.
He hadn't expected the child to be a girl.
"What?"
Samui, who had just been called over, stared at Killer B in shock.
"Master, are you saying you're my father?"
"No, no."
Killer B shook his head.
"I'm your mother—well, more accurately, Gyūki is."
"Your father is Namikaze Minato."
He gestured toward her hair.
"Didn't you ever wonder why your blond hair resembles the Yellow Flash so much?"
"?"
Samui felt as though the world had collapsed around her.
Once she confirmed that Killer B wasn't joking, another thought struck her.
"Then what about my little brother?"
She remembered Atsui.
Was Atsui also Namikaze Minato's son?
"No."
Killer B answered calmly.
"He was the placenta."
"?"
Samui stared at him.
"I'm serious."
Killer B sighed.
"I never expected offspring created from a Tailed Beast and human to possess such absurd vitality."
"Even the discarded tissue survived and eventually developed into a person."
"Samui, you've always called your brother stupid, but you really shouldn't blame him."
"He literally wasn't made with much of a brain to begin with."
"…"
Samui opened her mouth.
Nothing came out.
Her entire understanding of reality had just been shattered.
"That part actually makes sense."
Obito suddenly spoke up.
Everyone turned toward him.
"The shinobi world only focuses on how powerful Tailed Beasts are, but very few people understand that a Tailed Beast reaches its greatest combat potential only when working together with a jinchūriki."
"That applies to ordinary Tailed Beasts."
"And it applies to the Ten-Tails too."
Obito crossed his arms.
"Maybe the system was established that way by the chakra progenitor, Ōtsutsuki Kaguya, or perhaps by her clan."
"Or perhaps the Sage of Six Paths deliberately modified things later to encourage humans and Tailed Beasts to coexist."
"Either way, they probably never imagined that besides the jinchūriki system—where humans and Tailed Beasts are metaphorically joined—someone would develop a method for a much more literal kind of union."
Silence descended again.
Then Naruto realized something else.
Strictly speaking, Samui had far more claim to being part of Minato's bloodline than Naruto himself did.
Naruto was purely the Nine-Tails' child.
He didn't actually share Minato's lineage at all.
"All right, enough of this."
Killer B waved a hand and ended the increasingly bizarre discussion.
"Naruto, come with me."
The group departed for the Island Turtle.
The Raikage never appeared.
Which was understandable.
He had absolutely no desire to see the blond menace who had once humiliated him so thoroughly.
Samui came along as well.
After learning the truth, she had suddenly begun reevaluating many strange things from her childhood that had never made sense.
For example—
Why had the Raikage's attitude toward her sometimes changed by a full hundred and eighty degrees?
At times, he treated her warmly.
At others, he looked at her with barely concealed resentment.
Back then, Samui had even wondered whether the Raikage's preferences had somehow changed and whether he was treating her differently for personal reasons.
Now she finally understood.
Whenever the Raikage looked at her, he was seeing the child born from the person he loved and someone else.
And that also explained why, when Samui was young, the Raikage had forced her to learn so many strange subjects while constantly encouraging her to resent Konoha.
Then, without warning, he had canceled all those lessons and begun raising her like an ordinary Kumogakure shinobi.
Most likely, he had originally hoped that one day Samui could use her connection to Namikaze Minato to gain influence over Konoha—or even inherit control of it.
Unfortunately, Minato's political career had gone nowhere.
Even after shamelessly planting Flying Raijin marks on countless shinobi and disqualifying nearly everyone else from public office, he still failed to become the Fourth Hokage.
Instead—
the tyrant Uzumaki Kushina took the position.
And so the Raikage's grand plan for Samui had quietly died before it ever began.
