Chapter 10 - Sent Away

"How much were you holding back?" Klaus finally asked while still wiping some of the stuff he threw up off his mouth.

"Hm? What makes you think I was holding back?" He rubbed the back of his head, it was blatantly obvious.

'Does he think I'm dumb?' He wanted to facepalm but didn't this time.

"You looked like you were toying with him," Klaus sighed as his stomach rumbled.

"Maybe, maybe not," While smiling Zephyr summoned some food out of nowhere.

'Wowww,' Klaus licked his lips and reached forward to eat some food however an invisible barrier stopped his hands.

"Now, back to training! If you do good, then I might just let you eat some food," He winked and disappeared and then reappeared again a couple of feet away.

'Teleportation?' Klaus looked at the smiling man in front of him and already knew this would be painful.

"Wouldn't I have more chance if I ate first and had more energy—" Before he could finish his sentence a lightning bolt struck his chest sending him flying backward.

It didn't hurt him, it was like a tiny zap to his chest, however the force behind it was insane.

Klaus landed on his butt on the dirt, yet again.

'What did I do to deserve this,' He pushed his fragile body up from the ground, it felt pretty cold to the touch now.

"You seem to be able to use many abilities, just like me, you are special as well," Multiple different affinities started floating around him, circling his hands and limbs, fire, water, stones, lightning, even space seemed to be distorted.

"Is that not normal though?" Klaus stared in amazement at the showcase he even wanted to clap but held himself back.

"No," He dismissed all of them with a wave of his hand.

"Most mages can wield only one affinity related spells, like the good old Klara that just perished with blood," He smiled like he didn't just take a human life like it meant nothing.

'I see, so it's like that here,' Rubbing his Chin he thought of a question to ask.

"Do you know someone by the name of Maschbach?" Klaus's question made Zephyr's eyes twitch for just one second however Klaus didn't notice.

"Yes I do," He sighed and took a seat on the ground, his facial expression seemed annoyed for the first time.

'Why is he weird,' Klaus also took a seat, ignoring the rumbling of his stomach.

"Maschbach is the pinnacle for martial warriors, almost like a god to them," His voice sounded bored for the first time since they met…which was a couple of hours ago.

"Maschbach's techniques among martial warriors are on a different level,"

"Is Maschbach stronger than you then?" Klaus's question made Zephyr smile instantly as he started toying around with a flame ball just for fun.

"I'd win by a mile," He pointed at his chest as he puffed it out as a true warrior would.

'Hah, what did I expect,' Klaus facepalmed which made Zephyr chuckle, it didn't last long.

"Have you ever fought Maschbach then?" He didn't even answer the question, just shook his head.

'Damn, for all I know Maschbach could be stronger,' Klaus shrugged, he didn't care much about the topic. However after hearing Zephyr's explanation what his mother said made sense, since his family was a martial artist family after all.

"We might not be able to continue that training now," He looked far ahead into the night sky, Klaus tried following his gaze, but he couldn't see anything.

"What are you—"

"Hey kid, get strong," He tapped Klaus on the shoulder and smiled at him innocently, Klaus's vision started fading instantly, his surroundings darkened until he couldn't see anything.

"I will find you, don't stress about it," those were the last words he heard before his eyes started fluttering open again.

'Where am I…' in front of him was a gigantic stone gate covered in what seemed like runes. Klaus couldn't exactly decipher them at all. The gate seemed to be however smaller than the stone wall around it, it was gigantic.

'Did he teleport me to—'

"State your name!" An angry shout came from atop the gigantic wall before he could even analyze his surroundings.

"Why do you need it—" Before he could even finish his question a lightning bolt struck the ground next to him.

'Fucking hell.'

"That's a warning, state your name,"

'Can anybody let me finish my fucking sentences…?' He sighed and looked up, he didn't see anyone.

"My name is Klaus Von Alderstein," His voice was loud enough to reach up, it did not waver at all as he stood still, the ground next to him still smoking from the bolt.

"A-Alderstein?" As soon as he said that Klaus heard some murmurs coming from above him however still no one was visible.

"Prove your identity!" The voice from above screamed which left Klaus speechless.

'Prove how..?' He thought about it but he was kinda clueless, he rubbed his hands together then remembered.

Raising his hand he showed them the ring on his hand.

"Is this enough proof?"

Without hesitation he gate in front of him slowly spread open, he couldn't see past the gate at all.

Looked like endless darkness beyond it.

'It's probably blocked by some kind of magic,'

"Step through," The voice said again, way gentler this time.

'It's fine I guess,' With caution he stepped through the gate, all of a sudden a wave washed over him, like he just passed through a waterfall. Then buildings appeared, five of them to be precise.

However, the place seemed empty. No adults or children running around.

Out of the five buildings, though the gigantic main building in the middle caught his attention, other than that this space seemed to be endless, a forest stretched behind the buildings as well.

'Is this some kind of spatial magic…?' He looked around trying to analyze the buildings when he heard footsteps from behind, he instinctively turned around and saw a hooded man in silver armor.

"What brings you here Sir Klaus? I apologize for the rudeness earlier, we were not told of your arrival, and we should have recognized you by your looks," The man had long white hair and red ruby eyes, he was extremely tall, a lot of heads taller than Klaus.

'Taller than even Zephyr perhaps huh, I wonder if he's alright,' He nearly started worrying about him but then remembered his statements.

'He wouldn't lose,' He chuckled to himself which made the man in front of him slightly turn his head.

"I'm not sure myself…" Klaus answered honestly with a shrug which made the man's eyes twitch slightly.

'Oh? Is he getting annoyed?' He smirked on the inside however he didn't show any reaction.

"This is… Cozdael right?" Klaus asked, and the man nodded instantly.

"Then I'm here to enroll in the academy, my mother Klara Elisabeth Von Alderstein sent me," As soon as the man heard his mother's name he straightened his back and his eyes started gleaming.

"Why didn't you start with that Sir Klaus?!" His expression as well, instantly turned into a gleaming smile.

'Hm, let's see,'

"However you didn't even bother introducing yourself, I might have to reconsider—"

The man instantly bowed down like Klaus was a king or something.

'So she is this powerful huh,'

"I APOLOGIZE SIR KLAUS, MY NAME IS VICTOR ARKINED," He yelled wholeheartedly while saluting like a soldier.

"Well then Victor, show me around will ya?" Klaus smiled like an evil villain as Victor was still looking at the ground in front of him.

"First Sir Klaus…" He straightened himself and analyzed his clothes.

"Let's get you changed," He said with a smile that screamed money.
