[20 minutes earlier.]
The New York City bank was quite peaceful, until a blast shook the whole structure to its core. Yes, it was the weekend, sure. But let's be honest. It's a bank for Christ's sake, a bank loaded with cash. Even the small number of employees in there tried to gather their bearings through the ringing in their ears and the dust coating their tongues.
When the debris began to clear, those responsible came into view. Three individuals stepped through the jagged hole in the wall as if they owned the world. Leading the pack was a girl with vibrant pink hair styled into horn-like tufts, piercing eyes to match, and pale skin. Her outfit screamed the word 'baddie'—a sleek, dark aesthetic that balanced menace with style. This was Jinx.
Behind her loomed a hulking figure with ginger hair that resembled the wild mane of a lion. His muscles didn't just bulge; they rippled with sheer primal and raw power, threatening to burst through his skin. Standing somewhere between seven and eight feet tall, he made the heavy security doors look like toy gates. This was Mammoth.
The third was a leaner figure, wearing a suit that looked more tactical and a strange green helmet dominated by a massive, mechanical eye on the top. This was See-More.
As they began to enter, the bank guards—outfitted in vests and clutching standard-issue weapons—rushed in. They tried to stop the intruders. Keyword: tried.
"Move or get moved," Mammoth grunted, his voice a low tremor. He didn't even bother dodging. He simply tanked through a hail of bullets as if they were nothing more than annoying gnats. With a roar, he began to demolish the security line, throwing grown men aside like ragdolls and crushing their rifles with his bare hands.
Jinx moved with a wicked grace, her hands glowing with swirling pink energy. "You guys are such a bore," she teased, flicking her wrists. Bolts of 'bad luck' energy arced through the air, causing overhead chandeliers to collapse onto guards and weapons to jam at the worst possible moments. Beside her, See-More adjusted the dial on his helmet. His massive eye-lens glowed red, and he began picking off the remaining resistance with precise energy blasts, moving with the casual confidence of someone practicing sharpshooting in his own backyard.
As they reached the heavy, titanium-reinforced vault, the security lasers began to dissipate and vanish, flickering out of existence as if someone had pulled the plug. Soon the vault door groaned and swung open, revealing a small, dwarf-like figure perched on a hovering mechanical platform. He wore an advanced technological suit and oversized goggles, a wicked grin stretching across his face.
"Too easy! Their encryption was practically prehistoric, hahahaha!" cackled the leader, Gizmo.
As the group moved to enter the treasure trove, more guards converged from the side halls. But before they could fire a single shot, half of the reinforcements suddenly turned their weapons on their own comrades. A chaotic skirmish broke out within the guard ranks until the 'traitorous' guards pulled off their masks. Beneath the helmets were identical faces—exact carbon copies.
The copies merged into one another, swirling together until a single figure stood there. He shed the stolen security gear to reveal a bright pink suit, pulling back his mask and visor to show a cocky smirk. This was Billy Numerous.
The whole team was here. The package was complete. This was the HIVE Five—the "Anti-Teen Titans," as the netizens had labeled them.
While they did plan to rob the bank like every cliché villain troupe, there was a bigger motive behind the chaos. It was to draw out the Titans. They had a score to settle, and of course, the 'higher-ups' had made their demands.
"Pack it up, losers!" Gizmo barked. "Billy, get cloning. We're taking every cent."
Gizmo and Billy began to empty the vault, using mechanical arms and dozens of clones to move the gold and cash in record time. Once the loot was secured, they didn't sneak out. They blasted through the main entrance, stepping out into the sunlight.
Outside, a wall of police cruisers and SWAT teams awaited. "Drop the bags and put your hands up!" a commander yelled through a megaphone.
Jinx laughed, the sound cold and melodic. "Make us."
The police opened fire, but the HIVE Five didn't flinch. Mammoth charged forward like a living battering ram, flipping police cruisers over with his shoulders. Jinx's hexes caused the SWAT team's tear gas to blow back into their own faces, while See-More's thermal vision tracked every movement behind cover. They bulldozed through the blockade with terrifying ease.

[East River, Titans Island]
The T-shaped Titans Tower stood tall and shimmering against the blue sky, a symbol of safety for the city. Inside, the atmosphere was uncharacteristically relaxed. It was the weekend, and the Titans were caught up in their own routines.
Cyborg was in the garage, fine-tuning the T-Car's intake valves. Beast Boy was sprawled on the couch in the form of a green sloth, lazily reaching for a bowl of half-eaten popcorn. Starfire was in the kitchen, trying to explain the culinary nuances of Tamaranian 'Zorka berries' to Wonder Girl, who was politely trying not to grimace. Robin was in the gym, his movements a blur of precision as he worked the combat dummies.
Suddenly, the serenity was shattered. Red lights began to pulse against the walls, and a high-pitched siren wailed through the halls.
"Trouble!" Robin shouted, already sprinting toward the command center.
The team converged in seconds, their relaxed stances vanishing as they huddled around the main monitor. Robin's fingers flew across the keyboard, bringing up a live feed from the downtown district. The screen showed the HIVE Five dismantling a police line. Mammoth was currently holding a bus over his head, while Jinx stood atop a pile of crushed cruisers.
"The HIVE Five?" Cyborg growled, his mechanical eye zooming in on Gizmo. "Didn't we just kick their butts last month?"
"They're bolder today," Wonder Girl noted, her hand drifting to the golden lasso at her side. "Something's wrong. It's as if they want to make a scene."
"They're trying to draw us out," Robin said, his voice grim. "And they're going to get what they want. Titans—GO!"
They took off. Starfire and Wonder Girl took to the skies, streaks of orange and gold trailing behind them. Robin and Cyborg jumped into the T-Car, the engine roaring to life, while Beast Boy transformed into a peregrine falcon, diving out of the hangar bay.

[Downtown New York]
By the time the Titans arrived, the street looked like a war zone. Smoke rose from burning wreckage, and the HIVE Five were waiting in the middle of a four-way intersection.
"Took you long enough, bird-boy!" Gizmo yelled, hovering forward on his mechanical legs. "We were starting to get bored."
"The party's over, Gizmo," Robin said, stepping out of the T-Car with his staff drawn. "Give back the money and surrender. And maybe we won't have to send you back to juvenile detention."
"I think we'll take our chances," Jinx said, her eyes glowing. "Mammoth, show them some hospitality."
The battle erupted with a literal bang. Mammoth lunged forward, his massive fists coming down like mallets. Cyborg met him halfway, his own metallic arms interlocking with the villain's. The ground beneath them cracked as the two powerhouses strained against each other.
"You've gotten... rusty... chrome-dome!" Mammoth grunted, his muscles bulging.
"And you still smell like a zoo, big guy!" Cyborg retorted, activating his sonic cannon at point-blank range. The blast sent Mammoth skidding back, but the giant recovered instantly, tearing a lamp post from the concrete to use as a club.
In the air, Starfire and Jinx clashed in a dazzling display of color. Green starbolts met pink hexes, creating miniature explosions that lit up the smoky sky.
"Your 'bad luck' will not defeat the strength of friendship!" Starfire proclaimed, her eyes glowing solid green.
"Ugh, please," Jinx groaned, flipping backward over a starbolt. "Friendship doesn't pay the bills, sparkles." She sent a massive wave of hex energy downward, hitting a nearby fire hydrant. The pressure caused the hydrant to explode upward, the high-pressure water knocking Starfire off balance.
Meanwhile, Beast Boy was having a harder time. He had turned into a T-Rex to stomp out the opposition, but Billy Numerous had responded by creating nearly a hundred clones. The green dinosaur was being swarmed by pink-suited teenagers who climbed all over him like ants.
"Hey! Get off! That's... tickles!" Beast Boy roared, or tried to, before shifting into a swarm of bees to escape the dogpile. He reformed as a gorilla, slamming his fists down, but for every Billy he hit, three more seemed to pop up.
Wonder Girl sped through the chaos, her lasso glowing. She snagged See-More just as he was about to fire a freeze-ray at Robin. "Eyes on me!" she commanded, swinging him into a brick wall.
"Hey! Watch the lens!" See-More yelled, his helmet shifting through various visions—X-ray, heat, and sonic—trying to track her high-speed movements.
Robin was locked in a high-speed duel with Gizmo. The small villain was a walking arsenal, firing micro-missiles and deploying mechanical spider-drones from his pack. Robin moved with acrobatic grace, weaving through the explosions and using his birdarangs to disable Gizmo's tech.
"You're just a kid in a mask!" Gizmo screamed, unleashing a flamethrower.
"And you're a brat with a remote control," Robin countered, grappling up to a nearby ledge to gain the high ground.
The fight didn't stay downtown for long. What started as a street brawl quickly turned into a high-speed chase across the boroughs. Robin's birdarangs clatter against Gizmo's tech as the villains begin to scatter, intentionally leading the heroes deeper into the urban maze.
The battle bled from Wall Street toward the more industrial outskirts. Starfire and Jinx traded energy blasts above the skyscrapers, their power illuminating the clouds in flashes of green and pink. Cyborg and See-More were locked in a tactical duel of sensors and long-range fire, leaping across rooftops.
Meanwhile, the heavy hitters—Mammoth and Beast Boy—had carved a path of destruction toward an industrial district.
"Come here, you little green rat!" Mammoth roared, swinging a literal dumpster like a baseball bat.
Beast Boy, currently in the form of a sleek black panther, dodged the strike by a hair, leaping off the side of a parked truck. "Rat? I'm a panther, you overgrown rug!"
He shifted mid-air, his mass expanding as he turned into a rhinoceros, slamming his horn into Mammoth's chest. The impact sent both of them crashing through a brick wall and out into the lot of a large petrol station.
The smell of gasoline was thick in the air. A massive oil tanker sat idling near the pumps, waiting to offload.
Mammoth snarled, wiping a smudge of green fur and dust from his chin. He looked at the tanker, then at the green rhino charging toward him. With a roar that shook the windows of nearby buildings, Mammoth lunged. He didn't just grab the tanker; he dug his fingers into the steel chassis, his muscles screaming with raw, primal power as he heaved the multi-ton vehicle over his head.
"Heads up, animal boy!"
Mammoth launched the tanker with the force of a catapult.
Beast Boy's eyes went wide. He knew he couldn't take that hit, rhino or not. At the last possible millisecond, he shrunk down into a tiny hummingbird, the tanker whistling past him with the force of a jet engine.
It didn't hit Beast Boy. It hit the pumps.
The world turned orange. A massive fireball erupted as the tanker collided with the station's fuel reserves. The shockwave was gargantuan, tossing cars like toys and shattering every window within a three-block radius. Mammoth was blown back by the sheer force, his ginger hair singed as he tumbled across the asphalt.
But the physics of the blast didn't stop there.
Parked just ten yards away was a second tanker, half-full and unsecured. The force of the primary explosion acted like a giant hand, hurling the second massive cylinder through the air like a discarded soda can. It tumbled end-over-end, soaring across the street and crashing through the facade of a small, quaint cafe on the corner.
Inside the cafe, the afternoon coffee crowd didn't even have time to scream. The tanker plowed through the brick and glass, coming to a rest deep inside the building before the remaining fuel ignited.
The battle slowed for a heartbeat as the Titans looked at the rising pillar of black smoke from the cafe.
"Robin..." Starfire whispered, her voice trembling. "The people... they were inside."
The HIVE Five didn't look remorseful. Gizmo just smirked from his perch, looking at the carnage. "Oops. Looks like you guys have a bigger problem than us now."
The Titans bolted towards the wreckage of the cafe to save lives. But, the villains didn't even give them that time either.
In a twisted way, this was actually a good plan. The titans were definitely worried about the people inside the blown up cafe, probably blaming themselves for not being professional enough.
Their mind was now either clouded or distracted. And that was what their foes wanted right now.
But, little did they know. Some plans to backfire. And this time, they messed with a different sort of fire.
