Chapter 7 - Chapter 7

Zheng, Yang Yue and Li stayed in Zheng's healing hall waiting for the customers the following day.

Time passed by quickly and the sun began to descend from its peak yet, there still hasn't been a single customer that approached them.

However, despite getting zero customers so far, Zheng didn't loss his confident or his patience. Instead, he waited rest of the day in the hope of getting a customer before the night appeared.

After some time, before the dusk settle in, a man in his late 40s walked in Zheng's healing hall.

"Good Evening, Young Master Zheng." Said the man with utmost respect. "Master Ping would like invite Young Master to the golden dragon clan's resident."

Its almost the end of the day and I don't think we will be getting any customer at this hour, it's better to go and meet Master Ping, Zheng thought.

"Okay, give us some minute." Zheng replied. He then began to close his healing center for the day. "Two of you can head back, I'll meet you at the sect."

After sending Yang Yue and Li back to soaring sea sect, Zheng followed the man to Golden Dragon Clan's resident. Inside, Master Ping with his wife and who seems to be his sons greeted Zheng.

"Welcome Young Master Zheng," said Master Ping. "She's my wife, Lan. He's my elder son, Bai and other one's my younger son, Wei."

Zheng looked at the beautiful old lady and two young men respectively standing beside Master Ping when he introduced them.

"I'm called Zheng." He said politely. "It's great to meet you all."

"He's no older than Bai," Wei said in disbelief. "How did he earn father's respect at his father."

"Young Master Zheng, please don't mind his word." Said Lan in her soft voice. "It's rare for a person to earn my husband's respect. In fact, I cannot believe myself that such a young man earned his respect."

"It's Okay, Madam Lan."

"Come on, we can't keep Young Master Zheng standing here." Master Ping humbly invited Zheng for a meal. "This way, Master Zheng. Dinner's ready."

Zheng was memorized by the things Master Ping has collected and was impressed by the way his family treat their guests.

Before the dining room, they walked through the main hall full of valuable relic.

Bronze turquoise from Xia dynasty, replica of Phoenix's Mirror of golden immortal age, its power is not strong as original but still formidable in this era. Emperors jade pendant's not powerful but it's significant. Dragon awakening pill… now this is rare especially as dragon doesn't exist anymore in mortal realm. Zheng mentally took note of every relic in the hall.

"Now this is impressive." Said Zheng looking at the sword. "Can I hold it?"

"Please go-ahead Master Zheng." Said Master Ping. "This sword has been passed down our clan for generation."

"The HEAVEN QUELLING SWORD!!" Zheng admired the sword. "The sword, legendary master wielded during The Great War."

"Master Zheng have immense knowledge," Bai said in admiration.

"It's just basic history." Replied Zheng.

They slowly headed to the dinning room when suddenly Zheng felt strange energy from a small box on top of a table.

Zheng stopped at that second and turned to the box giving strange energy.

"What's this?"

"This box contains scroll our ancestor had." Master Ping said.

"Can I see the scroll." Asked Zheng, as he felt uneasy from the energy.

Master Ping and his family saw the Zheng's uneasiness and they started to worry.

When Master Ping opened the box, Zheng couldn't believe what he saw inside the box.

"Th-This… this is demonic spirit sealing scroll." Stuttered Zheng as he examined the scroll. "I can't be mistaken, this really is The Demonic spirit sealing scroll."

Fear started to creep in among the golden dragon family.

"What about this scroll, Master Zheng?" asked Madam Lan.

"It is said that during the cultivation era, where everyone had hunger for power, the four peril (Chaos, greed, wrath and cruelty) emerged. These four-spirit caused destruction around the world leading to the first cultivator war."

"During that time, in order to restore world's peace, five grandmasters travelled across the world for over a decade, sealing the four perils and it is said that the spirit were so strong that those five-grandmaster had to sacrifice their life one after another before they seal away the spirit one after another."

"Master Zheng, we all heard the story but the world thinks it's s myth." Said Master Ping. "And there's no record of their journey, just a word left through generation."

"The story doesn't end there," said Zheng as he continued to tell the story. "It is said the last two grandmasters to fight wrath- the strongest among the four was grandmaster Jinxing and grandmaster Xiulan. Along the way, they fall in love and had a son together. During their final battle against wrath, the son was barely half a year."

"To seal wrath and protect his wife and son, Grandmaster Jinxing sacrificed himself and grandmaster Xiulan was gravely wounded."

"Grandmaster Xiulan knew it was too dangerous to keep the scroll and the script together so she managed to hide them separately before she passed away."

"What happened to the son?" asked madam Lan. "And how did this scroll end up in our ancestor's hand."

"The son was adopted by a lord from nearby village, when he found the child near a dead body while returning from a hunt and the lord had a son too, a year older than him. The two brothers began cultivating at very young age and was equally talented. As they grew up, the son's talent gradually over shadowed his adopted brother and the lord favored his adopted son over his real son. Over the time, the real son became jealous of him but never showed to anyone."

"By the age of 15, the lord gave him a piece of paper, his mother had on her when the lord found them. When he read the letter, he couldn't understand anything but later he realized it was encrypted one, giving him the location of her journal."

"After finding the journal, he came to know about his parent's decade long journey-searching, fighting and sealing those four perils but even the journal didn't have the location of the scroll and its script."

"The two brothers searched for the scroll and script for years to come, one wanted to unseal and other wanted to continue his parent's story. They even found the scroll after 35 years of search. By that time, real son inherited the position of lord and he had his own sect."

"After finding the scroll, the brother had fallout. After fallout, one carried out his role as lord, had family and passed away while other ascended to immortal realm. After a century after he ascend to immortal realm, as a fate would have his grand-nephew found the script, thus a war began between them."

"Amidst the war, the scroll was stolen was one of his disciples who was bribed by the grand-nephew. But the scroll never reached its destination, got lost along the way but somehow ended here."

"What will happen now?" Master Ping asked. "The scroll itself made young master feel uneasy."

"The scroll in wrong person's hand will bring catastrophic destruction to the world," said Zheng as he puts the scroll back in the box. "I suggest you kept this in a place, no one can see or steal it."

"Master Zheng?" said Wei. "I feel like the story is incomplete."

"Haha… some other time," replied Zheng. "Right now, let's eat before it ges cold."
