Chapter 182 - Silvally & Terapago

Peter returned to the battlefield just in time to catch the start of the next round.

"Where did you go, Honey?" Whitney asked, tilting her head with a playful pout.

Peter smiled faintly. "Went to relive a bit of my youth."

"Ugh, stop it… you're just trying to make me happy again~" she said, rolling her eyes, though the smile on her lips betrayed her.

As the two teased each other, Saikikka walked over with his hands clasped behind his head, looking completely relaxed.

"Ahh… what a shame. Didn't even get the chance to meet Teacher Yan in the finals…"

Judging by his expression, he didn't seem bothered at all by his earlier defeat.

"That Metagross wasn't your main Pokémon, was it?" Peter asked.

"Heh… of course not. That was just a little guy my family gave me~" Saikikka shrugged casually. "As for my real team… you'll find out if we ever get the chance to battle."

Peter was about to say something else, but it was already their turn to step onto the stage.

He gave Saikikka a small nod before heading up with Whitney, beginning their second-round match.

Their opponents this time weren't particularly strong.

Peter sent out Eevee, pairing it with Whitney's Minccino.

They opened with Charm and Yawn, instantly locking down both opponents. Then, as Minccino burrowed underground with Dig and circled behind, it unleashed a devastating follow-up—Tail Slap, boosted by the Loaded Dice and its Technician ability.

In an instant, both of the opponent's Pokémon were wiped out.

Clean. Efficient. Overwhelming.

They advanced to the third round without breaking a sweat.

Group C, however, was once again entirely Payton's stage.

This time, Payton sent out a Pokémon that resembled Swellow—but with a sharper, more streamlined build.

It had a hooked beak, a yellow expandable throat sac, and long, slender wings that cut gracefully through the air.

[Kilowattrel Lv.49 (Elite - Advanced)]

Ability: Wind Power (When hit by wind-based moves or under Tailwind, it becomes charged, doubling the power of its next Electric-type move.)

Roto's voice chimed in immediately:

"Kilowattrel, the Frigatebird Pokémon! It stores electricity generated by its wings inside its throat sac. By inflating it, it amplifies its electrical power. Riding the wind, it can travel up to 700 kilometers in a single day, Roto~!"

Peter nodded appreciatively. "Kilowattrel from Paldea… a perfect fit for a rain team."

"Really?" Whitney leaned closer, curiosity sparkling in her eyes.

The battle unfolded exactly as Peter expected.

With Pelipper's Drizzle setting up rain and Tailwind boosting speed, Kilowattrel soared through the skies. Then—

Thunder.

A wide-area, rain-boosted, perfectly accurate Thunder struck down both opposing Pokémon in one decisive blow.

The entire match ended in seconds—fast, clean, and utterly dominant.

Whitney blinked. "His name really doesn't match his style at all…"

Peter chuckled. "Yeah… not even a little."

Someone named Payton… fighting like that?

Anything but low-key.

In Group D, Nessa sent out her evolved Sliggoo, paired with Zemu's Ferrothorn.

Two absolute tanks.

One focused on physical attacks, the other on special—forming an impenetrable wall that completely shut down their opponents.

Then, with a massive Blizzard sweeping across the field, both enemy Pokémon collapsed simultaneously.

With that, the morning matches came to an end.

Each group was now left with only four teams.

At noon, Peter took Whitney to casual diner, where they each ordered a big bowl of extra-spicy pork chili.

Whitney stuck out her tongue repeatedly, overwhelmed by the heat.

But their Pokémon? They were eating like it was a feast.

During the lunch break, Peter entered the Mimetic Chamber within his dream space and began arranging training for Zoroark.

The environment he set up was a haunting illusion—filled with swirling ghostly shadows.

Countless phantom figures circled around, launching attacks at unpredictable intervals.

Some were real. Some were illusions.

Zoroark had to distinguish between them on its own.

Each shadow it successfully intercepted transformed into pure Ghost-type energy, flowing into its body and strengthening it.

Back in the gaming room, the Pokémon began playing together, while Peter opened his system panel.

He was about to draw some new items—

—but his gaze suddenly stopped at a colorful button at the bottom of the interface.

[Legendary Capture]

He had never used this function before.

The only time it had activated was passively during the Regice incident.

"…At my current strength, I should be able to handle it now, right?"

A spark of interest flashed in his eyes.

Among his potential targets, the lowest recommended level was Level 50—

Silvally.

This Pokémon was an artificial creation of the Aether Foundation in the Alola region, modeled after descriptions of Arceus from Sinnoh mythology.

It possessed a unique ability—

RKS System.

By holding different memory discs, it could change its type at will.

In a sense…

It was a Pokémon with no true weaknesses.

In the anime, Silvally was created by the Aether Foundation scientist Faba.

Driven by selfish motives, he hid the success of his research from the foundation's leader—

Lusamine, Lillie's mother.

But Silvally's temperament was too unstable, often causing destruction in the lab. Eventually, Faba sealed it with a mask and restraints, reducing it to its pre-evolved form—

Type: Null.

(A name symbolizing its sealed ability to change types—leaving it as "null.")

Lillie, one of the main heroines of Pokémon the Series: Sun and Moon, had once been attacked by an Ultra Beast as a child.

By chance, Type: Null had saved her.

Her brother, Gladion, arrived shortly after—and that encounter would change everything.

Later, he rescued Type: Null from Faba, forming a deep bond with it.

In time, he broke its restraints—allowing it to return to its true form:

Silvally.

It became his signature Pokémon.

"Sorry about this, your Type: Null is going to be raised by me now~"

Peter grinned as he pressed the button.

"System, initiate the Silvally capture mission!"

"Ding. Evaluating host strength… requirements met. Consuming 100 million Poké Dollars to activate mission: 'Legendary Capture — Silvally.' Please check the mission panel for details."

Peter's eyes lit up as he opened the panel—

Only to notice something different.

The sixth slot… had changed.

"…Huh? What's this?"

He read it aloud instinctively.

"Terapagos?"

"Ding. Due to the host triggering information related to the 'Hidden Treasure of Area Zero,' the Legendary Capture targets have been updated."

Terapagos: The source of Terastalization. Possesses terrifying control over Terastal energy. Further details unknown.

Recommended Level: 85

Peter nodded slowly.

"So that information from Hannah… this must be the result."

Terapagos.

The third legendary of Paldea.

A Normal-type deity.

If things went well… he might eventually explore the Great Crater of Paldea himself.

But for now—

Level 85 was far beyond his reach.

Peter shook his head, pushing the thought aside as he opened the mission details.

[Unique Mission: Legendary Capture — Silvally]

Description:

The Aether Foundation has begun refining its plan to recreate a legendary Pokémon in order to combat Ultra Beasts that occasionally appear in the Alola region.

They have already dispatched personnel to the Canalave City Library in the Sinnoh region to gather research materials.

They are expected to arrive within one week.

Before they leave, you must investigate the situation.

PS: This mission consists of multiple stages. Completing each stage will unlock the next. If a stage is not completed in time, an alternative path will be activated to ensure successful capture.
